Zechariah 7

1 And it happened, in the fourth year of king Darius, that the word of the Lord came to Zechariah, on the fourth day of the ninth month, which is Kislev.	1 Και εν τω τεταρτω ετει του βασιλεως Δαρειου εγεινε λογος Κυριου προς τον Ζαχαριαν τη τεταρτη του εννατου μηνος, του Χισλευ?
2 And Sharezer and Regemmelech, and the men who were with them, sent to the house of God, to entreat the face of the Lord,	2 και εξαπεστειλαν εις τον οικον του Θεου τον Σαρεσερ και τον Ρεγεμ-μελεχ και τους ανθρωπους αυτων, δια να εξιλεωσωσι το προσωπον του Κυριου,
3 to speak to the priests of the house of the Lord of hosts and to the prophets, saying: “Must there be weeping with me in the fifth month, and must I sanctify myself, as I have now done for many years?”	3 να λαλησωσι προς τους ιερεις τους εν τω οικω του Κυριου των δυναμεων και προς τους προφητας, λεγοντες, Να κλαυσω εν τω μηνι τω πεμπτω αποχωρισθεις, καθως ηδη εκαμον τοσαυτα ετη;
4 And the word of the Lord of hosts came to me, saying:	4 Και εγεινε λογος του Κυριου των δυναμεων προς εμε, λεγων,
5 Speak to all the people of the land, and to the priests, saying: Although you may have fasted and mourned in the fifth and the seventh month for these seventy years, did you indeed keep a fast unto me?	5 Λαλησον προς παντα τον λαον της γης και προς τους ιερεις, λεγων, και επενθειτε εν τω πεμπτω και εν τω εβδομω μηνι τα εβδομηκοντα εκεινα ετη, ενηστευετε τωοντι δι' εμε; δι' εμε;
6 And when you did eat and drink, did you not eat for yourselves, and drink only for yourselves?	6 Και οτε ετρωγετε και οτε επινετε, δεν ετρωγετε και επινετε δι' εαυτους;
7 Are not these the words that the Lord has spoken by the hand of the former prophets, when Jerusalem was still inhabited, so that it would prosper, itself and the cities around it, and those inhabitants towards the South and in the plains?	7 δεν ειναι ουτοι οι λογοι, τους οποιους ο Κυριος ελαλησε δια των προτερων προφητων, οτε η Ιερουσαλημ ητο κατωκημενη και εν ευημερια και αι πολεις αυτης κυκλω εν αυτη, οτε κατωκειτο το μεσημβρινον και η πεδινη;
8 And the word of the Lord came to Zechariah, saying:	8 Και εγεινε λογος Κυριου προς τον Ζαχαριαν, λεγων,
9 Thus says the Lord of hosts, saying: Judge with true judgment, and act with mercy and compassion, each and every one with his brother.	9 Ουτω λεγει ο Κυριος των δυναμεων, λεγων, Κρινετε κρισιν αληθειας και καμνετε ελεος και οικτιρμον, εκαστος προς τον αδελφον αυτου,
10 And do not find fault with the widow, and the orphan, and the newcomer, and the poor. And let not a man consider evil in his heart towards his brother.	10 και μη καταδυναστευετε την χηραν και τον ορφανον, τον ξενον και τον πενητα, και μηδεις απο σας ας μη βουλευηται κακον κατα του αδελφου αυτου εν τη καρδια αυτου.
11 But they were not willing to pay attention, and they turned aside their shoulder to depart, and they pressed upon their ears, so that they would not hear.	11 Αλλ' ηρνηθησαν να προσεξωσι και εστρεψαν νωτα απειθη και εβαρυναν τα ωτα αυτων δια να μη ακουσωσι.
12 And they set their heart like the hardest stone, so that they would not hear the law and the words that the Lord of hosts has sent with his Spirit by the hand of the former prophets. And so a great indignation came from Lord of hosts.	12 Ναι, αυτοι εκαμον τας καρδιας αυτων αδαμαντα, ωστε να μη ακουσωσι τον νομον και τους λογους, τους οποιους ο Κυριος των δυναμεων εξαπεστειλεν εν τω πνευματι αυτου δια των προτερων προφητων? δια τουτο ηλθεν οργη μεγαλη παρα του Κυριου των δυναμεων.
13 And it happened, just as he had spoken, and they did not pay attention. So then, they shall cry out, and I will not heed, says the Lord of hosts.	13 Οθεν καθως αυτος εκραξε και αυτοι δεν εισηκουον, ουτως αυτοι εκραξαν και εγω δεν εισηκουον, λεγει ο Κυριος των δυναμεων?
14 And I dispersed them throughout all the kingdoms that they did not know. And the land was left desolate behind them, so that no one was passing through or returning. And they made the desirable land into a deserted place.	14 αλλα διεσκορπισα αυτους ως δι' ανεμοστροβιλου εις παντα τα εθνη, τα οποια δεν εγνωριζον. Και ο τοπος ηρημωθη κατοπιν αυτων, ωστε δεν υπηρχεν ο διαβαινων ουδε ο επιστρεφων? και εθεσαν την γην την επιθυμητην εις ερημωσιν.
