Micah 3

1 And I said: Listen, leaders of Jacob and chiefs of the house of Israel. Does it not belong to you to know judgment,	1 - E dissi: «Ascoltate, o principi di Giacobbe, o duci della casa d'Israele: Non spetta a voi forse la cura della giustizia?
2 you who hold hatred for good, and love evil, who violently steal their skins from over them and their flesh from over their bones?	2 Voi che avete in odio il bene e amate il male, che strappate violentemente l'altrui pelle di dosso e la carne dalle ossa?
3 They have devoured the flesh of my people, and have stripped their skin from over them, and they have shattered and chopped their bones, as if for the kettle, and like flesh in the middle of the pot.	3 Voi siete quelli che hanno divorato la carne del mio popolo, dopo avergli strappata la pelle, stritolate le ossa e messe a pezzi quasi in una caldaia, come carne entro alla pentola.
4 Then they will cry out to the Lord, and he will not heed them. And he will hide his face from them in that time, just as they have acted wickedly with their inventions.	4 Allora si raccomanderanno al Signore, ma io non li esaudirò, io nasconderò la mia faccia in quel tempo, come meritano le loro cattive azioni.
5 Thus says the Lord about the prophets who seduce my people: They bite with their teeth and preach peace, and if anyone does not give something to their mouth, they sanctify a battle against him.	5 Queste cose dice il Signore a carico dei profeti che seducono il mio popolo, i quali, avendo qualche cosa da rodere pei loro denti, predicano la pace, e se uno non mette loro in bocca alcunchè gli dichiarano esecrabile guerra.
6 Because of this, night will be yours for vision, and darkness yours for divination, and the sun will meet with death over the prophets, and the day will be darkened over them.	6 Per questo, in cambio di visione avrete notte, e tenebre invece di divinazione; il sole tramonterà pei profeti, e il giorno si velerà di nero sopra di loro.
7 And those who see visions will be confounded, and the diviners will be confounded. And they will all cover their faces, because there is no response from God.	7 E quelli che fanno i veggenti resteranno confusi, e gli indovini saranno svergognati e si copriranno la faccia, perchè non vi saranno più responsi dal Signore.
8 Nevertheless, truly I have been filled with the strength of the Spirit of the Lord, with judgment and virtue, in order to announce to Jacob his wickedness and to Israel his sin.	8 Io però sono ripieno della virtù dello spirito del Signore, del discernimento e della fortezza, per annunziare a Giacobbe la sua colpa e ad Israele il suo peccato.
9 Hear this, leaders of the house of Jacob and judges of the house of Israel, you who abominate judgment and who pervert all that is right.	9 Udite dunque, o principi della casa di Giacobbe, o giudici della casa d'Israele, che avete in orrore la giustizia e pervertite ogni diritto;
10 You build up Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity.	10 che edificate Sion col sangue e Gerusalemme coll'iniquità!
11 Her leaders have judged for tributes, and her priests have taught for payment, and her prophets divined for money. And they leaned upon the Lord, saying: “Is not the Lord in our midst? No disaster will overcome us.”	11 I suoi principi erano giudici comprati dai regali; i suoi sacerdoti, maestri mercenari; e i suoi profeti, indovini prezzolati; e si appoggiavano tranquillamente sopra il Signore dicendo: - Il Signore non sta egli in mezzo a noi? il male non può venire sopra di noi. -
12 For this reason, because of you, Zion will be plowed under like a field, and Jerusalem will become like a pile of stones, and the mountain of the temple like the high places of the forests.	12 Per questo, in causa vostra, Sion sarà arata, come un campo; e Gerusalemme diventerà un cumulo di rovine; e il monte del tempio, un'altura inselvatichita.
