Ezekiel 22

1 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:	1 La palabra del Señor me llegó en estos términos:
2 “And you, son of man, should you not judge, should you not judge the city of blood?	2 Y tú, hijo de hombre, ¿no vas a juzgar, no vas a juzgar a la ciudad sanguinaria? Dale a conocer todas sus abominaciones.
3 And you shall reveal to her all her abominations. And you shall say: Thus says the Lord God: This is the city which sheds blood in her midst, so that her time may come, and which has made idols against herself, so that she may be defiled.	3 Tú le dirás: Así habla el Señor: ¡Ay de la ciudad que derrama sangre en medio de ella para que llegue su hora, y se fabrica ídolos para contaminarse!
4 You have offended by your blood, which you shed from yourself. And you have been defiled by your idols which you yourself made. And you have caused your days to approach, and you have brought on the time of your years. Because of this, I have made you a disgrace to the Gentiles, and a derision to all the lands.	4 Por la sangre que has derramado te has hecho culpable, y por los ídolos que fabricaste te has contaminado; has hecho que se acercara tu día y que llegara el término de tus años. Por eso te he convertido en el oprobio de las naciones y en la irrisión de todos los países.
5 Those that are near and those that are far from you will triumph over you. You are filthy, infamous, great in destruction.	5 Los que están cerca y los que están lejos se burlarán de ti, ciudad famosa por tu impureza, grande por tu anarquía.
6 Behold, the leaders of Israel have each used his arm to shed blood within you.	6 En ti, los príncipes de Israel se valen de su poder sólo para derramar sangre.
7 They have abused father and mother within you. The new arrival has been oppressed in your midst. They have grieved the orphan and the widow among you.	7 En ti se desprecia al padre y a la madre, se extorsiona al extranjero que reside en medio de ti, y se oprime al huérfano y a la viuda.
8 You have spurned my sanctuaries, and you have defiled my Sabbaths.	8 Tú menosprecias mis cosas santas y profanas mis sábados.
9 Maligning men were within you, in order to shed blood, and they have eaten upon the mountains within you. They have worked wickedness in your midst.	9 En ti hay calumniadores que incitan a derramar sangre y hay gente que participa de las comidas sagradas en las montañas. En ti se cometen ignominias:
10 They have uncovered the nakedness of their father within you. They have debased the uncleanness of the menstruous woman within you.	10 se descubre la desnudez del padre y se fuerza a la mujer a tener relaciones en el período de su menstruación.
11 And each one has committed abomination with the wife of his neighbor. And the father-in-law has heinously defiled his daughter-in-law. The brother has oppressed his sister, the daughter of his father, within you.	11 Uno comete abominación con la mujer de su prójimo; otro contamina a su nuera de una manera infame; otro viola a su hermana, la hija de su propio padre.
12 They have accepted bribes among you to shed blood. You have received usury and superabundance, and in avarice you have oppressed your neighbors. And you have forgotten me, says the Lord God.	12 En ti se acepta soborno para derramar sangre. Practicas la usura y prestas a interés, extorsionas a tu prójimo y te olvidas de mi –oráculo del Señor–.
13 Behold, I have clapped my hands over your avarice, which you have worked, and over the blood that has been shed in your midst.	13 Pero yo voy a golpear con las palmas de mis manos, a causa de las ganancias que has obtenido y de la sangre que corre en medio de ti.
14 How can your heart endure, or your hands prevail, in the days that I will bring upon you? I, the Lord, have spoken, and I will act.	14 ¿Podrá resistir tu corazón y estarán firmes tus manos, los días en que yo me enfrente contigo? Yo, el Señor, lo he dicho y lo haré.
15 And I will disperse you among the nations, and I will scatter you among the lands, and I will cause your uncleanness to fade away from you.	15 Te dispersaré entre las naciones, te diseminaré por otros países y eliminaré de ti tu impureza.
16 And I will possess you in the sight of the Gentiles. And you shall know that I am the Lord.”	16 Tú te has profanado a ti misma a los ojos de las naciones, pero sabrás, que yo soy el Señor.
17 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:	17 La palabra del Señor me llegó en estos términos:
18 “Son of man, the house of Israel has become like dross to me. All these are brass, and tin, and iron, and lead in the midst of the furnace; they have become like the dross of silver.	18 Hijo de hombre, la casa de Israel se ha convertido para mí en escoria: todos, sean plata, cobre, estaño, hierro o plomo, se han convertido en escoria dentro del crisol.
19 Because of this, thus says the Lord God: Since you have all turned into dross, therefore, behold, I will gather you together in the midst of Jerusalem,	19 Por eso, así habla el Señor: Porque todos ustedes se han convertido en escoria, yo voy a amontonarlos en medio de Jerusalén.
20 just as they gather silver, and brass, and tin, and iron, and lead in the midst of the furnace, so that I may kindle in it a fire to melt it. So will I gather you together in my fury and in my wrath, and I will be quieted, and I will melt you down.	20 Así como se amontona plata, cobre, hierro, plomo y estaño en medio del crisol, y se atiza el fuego para fundirlos, así yo los amontonaré en mi ira y en mi furor; los pondré allí y los fundiré.
21 And I will gather you together, and I will burn you in the fire of my fury, and you will be melted in its midst.	21 Los amontonaré, atizaré contra ustedes el fuego de mi furor y los fundiré en medio de Jerusalén.
22 Just as silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so will you be in its midst. And you shall know that I am the Lord, when I will have poured out my indignation upon you.”	22 Como se funde la palta en medio del crisol, así ustedes serán fundidos en medio de ella, y sabrán que yo, el Señor, he derramado mi furor contra ustedes.
23 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:	23 La palabra del Señor me llegó en estos términos:
24 “Son of man, say to her: You are a land unclean and not rained upon, in the day of fury.	24 Hijo de hombre, dile a Jerusalén: Tú eres una tierra que no ha sido purificada, sobre la que no ha llovido en el día de la ira.
25 There is a conspiracy of prophets in her midst. Like a lion, roaring and seizing the prey, they have devoured souls. They have taken riches and a price. They have multiplied widows in her midst.	25 Hay una conjuración de profetas en medio de ella. Como un león rugiente que despedaza la presa, han devorado a la gente, se han apoderado de las riquezas y objetos preciosos y han multiplicado las viudas en la ciudad.
26 Her priests have despised my law, and they have defiled my sanctuaries. They have held no distinction between holy and profane. And they have not understood the difference between defiled and clean. And they have averted their eyes from my Sabbaths. And I was profaned in their midst.	26 Sus sacerdotes han violado mi Ley, han profanado mis cosas santas; no han separado lo sagrado de lo profano, ni han hecho conocer la diferencia entre lo puro y lo impuro; han cerrado sus ojos a mis sábados y yo he sido profanado en medio de ellos.
27 Her leaders in her midst are like wolves seizing the prey: to shed blood, and to perish souls, and to continually pursue profit with avarice.	27 Sus jefes, en medio de la ciudad, son como lobos que despedazan la presa, derramando sangre y haciendo perecer a la gente, a fin de acumular ganancias.
28 And her prophets have covered them without tempering the mortar, seeing emptiness, and divining lies for them, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord God,’ when the Lord has not spoken.	28 Sus profetas los recubren con cal, proponiendo falsas visiones y predicciones engañosas. Ellos dicen: «Así habla el Señor», cuando el Señor no había hablado.
29 The people of the land have oppressed with slander and have seized with violence. They have afflicted the needy and the poor, and they have oppressed the new arrival by accusations without judgment.	29 Los terratenientes practican la extorsión, cometen robos, explotan al pobre y al indigente, y atropellan al extranjero, contra todo derecho.
30 And I sought among them for a man who might set up a hedge, and stand in the gap before me on behalf of the land, so that I might not destroy it; and I found no one.	30 Yo busqué entre ellos un hombre que levantara un cerco y se mantuviera firme sobre la brecha delante mí, pero no lo encontré.
31 And so I poured out my indignation upon them; in the fire of my wrath I consumed them. I have rendered their own way upon their head, says the Lord God.”	31 Entonces derramé mi furia contra ellos, los exterminé con el fuego de mi furor e hice recaer sobre sus cabezas su mala conducta –oráculo del Señor–.
