Jeremiah 33

1 And the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah a second time, while he was still confined to the atrium of the prison, saying:	1 Pela segunda vez, enquanto Jeremias ainda estava detido no átrio da prisão, foi-lhe dirigida a palavra do Senhor nestes termos:
2 “Thus says the Lord, who will prepare, and form, and accomplish it; the Lord is his name.	2 Eis o que diz o Senhor que criou {a terra}, que a modelou e consolidou e cujo nome é Javé:
3 Cry out to me and I will heed you. And I will announce to you great things, things that are certain, though you do not know them.	3 invoca-me, e te responderei, revelando-te grandes coisas misteriosas que ignoras.
4 For thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, to the houses of this city, and to the houses of the king of Judah, which have been destroyed, and to the fortifications, and to the sword	4 Portanto, eis o que diz o Senhor, Deus de Israel, a propósito das casas da cidade e dos palácios dos reis de Judá que foram demolidos para dar lugar às fortificações e às armas dos caldeus,
5 of those who have arrived, so that they may fight with the Chaldeans, and so that they may have their fill of the dead bodies of the men whom I have struck down in my fury and in my indignation, concealing my face from this city, because of all their wickedness:	5 vindos para combater, e para enchê-las de cadáveres dos homens que firo em minha cólera, e por cuja malícia desviei minha face dessa cidade.
6 Behold, I will lead over them scars and health, and I will cure them. And I will reveal to them an invocation of peace and truth.	6 Vou pensar-lhes as feridas e curá-las, e proporcionar-lhes abundância de felicidade e segurança.
7 And I will convert the turning away of Judah and the turning away of Jerusalem. And I will build them up, just as from the beginning.	7 Transformarei a sorte de Judá e de Israel, e fá-los-ei voltar ao que eram outrora.
8 And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, by which they have sinned against me. And I will forgive all their iniquities, by which they have offended against me and have despised me.	8 Purificá-los-ei de todos os pecados que contra mim cometeram, e lhes perdoarei todas as iniqüidades de que se tornaram culpados, revoltando-se contra mim.
9 And this will be for me: a name, and a joy, and a praise, and an exultation, among all the nations of the earth who will hear about all the good things that I will accomplish for them. And they will be afraid and troubled over all these good things, and over all the peace, that I will accomplish for them.	9 Será para mim motivo de alegria, felicidade e glória diante de todas as nações da terra, o saberem todo o bem com que agraciei meu povo. Ficarão tomadas de receio e temor por causa desse bem e da prosperidade de que vou cumulá-lo.
10 Thus says the Lord: Still shall there be heard in this place, (which you say is desolate, because there is neither man nor beast,) and in the cities of Judah and outside of Jerusalem, (which are desolate, without man, and without an inhabitant and without cattle,)	10 Eis o que diz o Senhor: neste lugar, do qual dizeis que não passa de um deserto sem homens nem animais; nas cidades de Judá e nas ruas de Jerusalém devastadas, onde homem algum habita, nem um animal se encontra, ouvir-se-ão novamente
11 the voice of gladness and the voice of rejoicing, the voice of the groom and the voice of the bride, the voice of those who will say: ‘Confess to the Lord of hosts! For the Lord is good! For his mercy is eternal!’ and the voice of those fulfilling their vows in the house of the Lord. For I will lead back the turning away of the land, just as from the beginning, says the Lord.”	11 gritos de alegria, cânticos de júbilo, a voz do esposo e da esposa, aclamações daqueles que cantarão: louvai o Senhor dos exércitos, pois que ele é bom e eterna a sua misericórdia, ao apresentarem no templo seus sacrifícios de ação de graças, pois que restituirei a terra tal qual era outrora - oráculo do Senhor.
12 Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Still shall there be in this place, (which is desolate without man and without beast,) and in all of its cities: a habitation for the shepherds giving rest to their flocks.	12 Eis o que diz o Senhor dos exércitos: Neste lugar que é deserto, sem homens nem animais, e em todas as suas cidades, haverá novamente abrigos para os pastores que apascentarão seus rebanhos.
13 For even in the cities on the mountains, and in the cities on the plains, and in the cities that are toward the south, and in the land of Benjamin, and all around Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, still shall the flocks travel by the hand of him who numbers them, says the Lord.	13 Nas cidades das montanhas, nas da planície e nas do Negeb, na terra de Benjamim, nos arredores de Jerusalém e nas cidades de Judá hão de passar ainda rebanhos pela mão do que os conta - oráculo do Senhor.
14 Behold, the days are approaching, says the Lord, when I will fulfill the good word that I have spoken to the house of Israel and to the house of Judah.	14 Eis que outros dias virão.
15 In those days and at that time, I will cause the seedling of justice to spring up from David, and he will accomplish judgment and justice upon the earth.	15 E nesses dias e nesses tempos farei nascer de Davi um rebento justo que exercerá o direito e a eqüidade na terra.
16 In those days, Judah will be saved, and Jerusalem will live in confidence. And this is the name that they will call him: ‘The Lord, our Just One.’	16 Naqueles dias e naqueles tempos viverá Jerusalém em segurança e será chamada Javé-nossa-justiça.
17 For thus says the Lord: There shall not cease to be a man from David sitting upon the throne of the house of Israel.	17 Porque diz o Senhor: Não faltará jamais a Davi um sucessor para ocupar o trono da Casa de Israel.
18 And there shall not cease to be a man from the priests and from the Levites before my face, who offers holocausts, and burns sacrifices, and kills victims, for days without end.”	18 E, diante de mim, não faltarão jamais descendentes aos sacerdotes e aos levitas para oferecer os holocaustos, queimar as oferendas e celebrar o sacrifício cotidiano.
19 And the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying:	19 Nestes termos foi a palavra do Senhor dirigida a Jeremias:
20 “Thus says the Lord: If my covenant with the day is able to be nullified, or my covenant with the night, such that there would be no day and no night in their time,	20 Eis o que disse o Senhor: se puderdes romper o meu pacto com o dia e a noite, de sorte que dia e noite não surjam no devido tempo,
21 then, too, my covenant with David, my servant, may be nullified, such that he would not have a son who reigns upon his throne, with both the Levites and the priests as my ministers.	21 então poderá ser rompido o pacto que fiz com Davi, meu servo, e não terá ele filho que lhe ocupe o trono, e com os sacerdotes e levitas, meus ministros.
22 Just as the stars of heaven are not able to be numbered, and the sand of the sea is not able to be measured, so will I multiply the offspring of David, my servant, and the Levites, my ministers.”	22 À semelhança do exército celestial, que se não pode enumerar, e como a areia do mar, que se não pode medir, assim multiplicarei a posteridade de Davi, meu servo, e os levitas, meus ministros.
23 And the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying:	23 Foi a palavra do Senhor dirigida a Jeremias nestes termos:
24 “Have you not seen what this people has spoken? They say: ‘The two families which the Lord had chosen have been rejected.’ And so they have despised my people, as if they were no longer a nation in their sight.	24 Não reparaste nas palavras que proferem esses homens? As duas famílias, dizem eles, que pelo Senhor haviam sido eleitas, foram por ele repelidas! É assim que desprezam meu povo, a ponto de, a seus olhos, não constituir mais uma nação.
25 Thus says the Lord: If I have not established my covenant with the day and the night, and my laws over heaven and earth,	25 Eis o que diz o Senhor: se não firmei pacto com o dia e a noite, nem regulei as leis do céu e da terra,
26 then truly I will also cast aside the offspring of Jacob, and of David, my servant, so that I do not take up any of his offspring to be leaders over the offspring of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For I will lead back their turning way, and I will take pity on them.”	26 então poderei rejeitar a raça de Jacó e de Davi, meu servo, e abster-me de escolher da sua descendência os chefes para a raça de Abraão, de Isaac e de Jacó! Pois hei de lhes melhorar a sorte, e deles me apiedarei.
