Psalms 96

1 This is to David, when his land was restored to him. The Lord has reigned, let the earth exult. Let the many islands rejoice.	1 Cantate al Signore un canto nuovo, cantate al Signore da tutta la terra.
2 Clouds and mist are all around him. Justice and judgment are corrections from his throne.	2 Cantate al Signore, benedite il suo nome, annunziate di giorno in giorno la sua salvezza.
3 A fire will precede him, and it will enflame his enemies all around.	3 Narrate fra le genti la sua gloria, fra tutti i popoli le sue meraviglie.
4 His lightnings have enlightened the whole world. The earth saw, and it was shaken.	4 Poiché grande è il Signore e degno d'ogni lode, tremendo al di sopra di tutti gli dèi.
5 The mountains flowed like wax before the face of the Lord, before the face of the Lord of all the earth.	5 Infatti, nullità sono tutti gli dèi dei popoli, invece il Signore ha fatto i cieli.
6 The heavens announced his justice, and all peoples saw his glory.	6 Maestà e splendore camminano davanti a lui, potenza e decoro dimorano nel suo santuario.
7 May all those who adore graven images be confounded, along with those who glory in their false images. All you his Angels: Adore him.	7 Tributate al Signore, famiglie dei popoli, tributate al Signore gloria e potenza,
8 Zion heard, and was glad. And the daughters of Judah exulted because of your judgments, O Lord.	8 tributate al Signore la gloria del suo nome; prendete offerte ed entrate nei suoi atri.
9 For you are the Most High Lord over all the earth. You are greatly exalted above all gods.	9 Prostratevi al Signore alla sua santa apparizione. Tremi davanti a lui tutta la terra.
10 You who love the Lord: hate evil. The Lord watches over the souls of his holy ones. He will free them from the hand of the sinner.	10 Proclamate fra i popoli: "Il Signore regna!". Sì, sta salda la terra, non vacillerà. Giudicherà i popoli con rettitudine.
11 The light has risen for the just, and joy for the upright of heart.	11 Gioiscano i cieli, esulti la terra, frema il mare con ciò che contiene;
12 Rejoice in the Lord, you just ones, and confess to the memory of his sanctuary.	12 si rallegri il campo con ciò che v'è in esso: sì, plaudano gli alberi della selva,
	13 davanti al Signore che viene; sì, viene a giudicare la terra. Giudicherà il mondo con giustizia e i popoli con la sua fedeltà.
