Psalms 71

1 A Psalm according to Solomon.	1 Uram, tebenned remélek, soha meg ne szégyenüljek!
2 Give your judgment, O God, to the king, and your justice to the king’s son, to judge your people with justice and your poor with judgment.	2 Igazságodban szabadíts meg, és ments meg engem! Hajlítsd hozzám füledet és nyújts segítséget!
3 Let the mountains take up peace for the people, and the hills, justice.	3 Légy oltalmam sziklája, és erős váram, hogy megszabadíts engem, mert te vagy az én erősségem és menedékem!
4 He will judge the poor of the people, and he will bring salvation to the sons of the poor. And he will humble the false accuser.	4 Istenem, szabadíts meg a bűnös kezéből, s a törvényszegő és a gonosz kezéből!
5 And he will remain, with the sun and before the moon, from generation to generation.	5 Hisz te vagy az én reménységem, Uram; Te vagy, Uram, ifjúkorom óta bizodalmam.
6 He will descend like rain upon fleece, and like showers showering upon the earth.	6 Születésem óta rád támaszkodom, anyám méhétől te vagy oltalmazóm; Szüntelenül rólad szól dicséretem.
7 In his days, justice will rise like the sun, with abundance of peace, until the moon is taken away.	7 Szinte csodája lettem sokaknak, mert te erős segítőm vagy.
8 And he will rule from sea to sea and from the river to the limits of the whole world.	8 Teljék meg szám dicséreteddel, egész nap fenségeddel!
9 In his sight, the Ethiopians will fall prostrate, and his enemies will lick the ground.	9 Ne vess el engem vénségem idején, amikor erőm megfogyatkozik, ne hagyj el engem!
10 The kings of Tarshish and the islands will offer gifts. The kings of Arabia and of Seba will bring gifts.	10 Mert ellenségeim ellenem beszélnek, s akik életemre leselkednek, együtt tanakodnak.
11 And all the kings of the earth shall adore him. All nations will serve him.	11 Így szólnak: »Isten elhagyta, vegyétek űzőbe, fogjátok meg, hisz nincs, aki megszabadítsa!«
12 For he will free the poor from the powerful, and the poor one who has no helper.	12 Isten, ne távozz el tőlem; Én Istenem, siess segítségemre!
13 He will spare the poor and the indigent, and he will bring salvation to the souls of the poor.	13 Jussanak szégyenbe, pusztuljanak életem ellenségei. Borítsa szégyen és gyalázat azokat, akik nekem rosszat akarnak!
14 He will redeem their souls from usuries and from iniquity, and their names shall be honorable in his sight.	14 Én azonban mindenkor reménykedem, és szüntelen dicsérlek téged.
15 And he will live, and to him will be given from the gold of Arabia, and by him they will always adore. They will bless him all day long.	15 Egész nap jótéteményeidet és igazságosságodat hirdeti szám, bár elsorolni sem tudom.
16 And there will be a firmament on earth, at the summits of mountains: its fruits will be extolled above Lebanon, and those of the city will flourish like the grass of the earth.	16 Hirdetem az Úr hatalmas tetteit, Uram, csak igazságodról elmélkedem.
17 May his name be blessed forever; may his name remain before the sun. And all the tribes of the earth will be blessed in him. All nations will magnify him.	17 Isten, te ifjúkorom óta oktattál engem; Mindmáig hirdetem csodáidat.
18 Blessed is the Lord, God of Israel, who alone does wondrous things.	18 Öregségemre s aggkoromra se hagyj magamra, Isten, hogy hirdethessem az egész jövendő nemzedéknek karod erejét. Hatalmadat,
19 And blessed is the name of his majesty in eternity. And all the earth will be filled with his majesty. Amen. Amen.	19 és igazságodat, amely égig ér, Isten, aki nagy dolgokat cselekedtél: Isten, ki hasonló hozzád?
20 The praises of David, the son of Jesse, have reached an end.	20 Milyen sok nehéz szorongatást engedtél megérnem, de aztán ismét életet adtál nekem, s a föld mélységeiből újra visszahoztál engem.
	21 Hozzám fordulsz, naggyá teszel és megvigasztalsz engem.
	22 Magasztalom is hűségedet hárfával, Istenem, hárfával zengek neked éneket, Izrael Szentje.
	23 Örvendezik majd ajkam, ha neked énekelek, és lelkem, amelyet megmentesz;
	24 Nyelvem is egész nap hirdeti igazságodat, mert zavarba és szégyenbe jutnak, akik rosszat akarnak nekem.
