1 A Psalm of David versus Goliath. Blessed is the Lord, my God, who trains my hands for the battle and my fingers for the war.	1 Salmo di David, contro Goliath. Benedetto il Signore Dio mio, il quale alle mani mie insegna a combattere, e alle mie dita a trattare l'armi.
2 My mercy and my refuge, my supporter and my deliverer, my protector and him in whom I have hoped: he subdues my people under me.	2 Egli mia misericordia, e mio asilo: mia difesa, e mio liberatore: Protettor mio, e in lui ho sperato: egli è che a me soggetta il mio popolo.
3 O Lord, what is man that you have become known to him? Or the son of man that you consider him?	3 Signore, che è l'uomo, che a lui ti se' dato a conoscere, o il figliuolo dell'uomo, che tal tu ne mostri concetto?
4 Man has been made similar to vanity. His days pass by like a shadow.	4 L'uomo è diventato simile al nulla: i giorni di lui passan com' ombra.
5 O Lord, incline your heavens and descend. Touch the mountains, and they will smoke.	5 Signore, abbassa i tuoi cieli, e discendi: tocca i monti, e andranno in fumo.
6 Send a flash of lightning, and you will scatter them. Shoot your arrows, and you will set them in disarray.	6 Fa lampeggiare i tuoi folgori, e dissiperai costoro: scocca le tue saette, e li porrai in ispavento.
7 Send forth your hand from on high: rescue me, and free me from many waters, from the hand of the sons of foreigners.	7 Stendi la mano tua dall'alto, e salvami, e liberami dalla piena dell'acque, dalla mano de' figliuoli stranieri.
8 Their mouth has been speaking vain things, and their right hand is the right hand of iniquity.	8 La bocca de' quali di cose vane ragiona, e la loro destra, destra di iniquità.
9 To you, O God, I will sing a new song. On the psaltery, with an instrument of ten strings, I will sing psalms to you.	9 O Dio, io canterò a te un cantico nuovo: inni di laude dirò a te sul saltero a dieci corde.
10 He gives salvation to kings. He has redeemed your servant David from the malignant sword.	10 A te, che dai salute a' regi, che liberasti Davidde tuo servo dalla spada micidiale: liberami,
11 Rescue me, and deliver me from the hand of the sons of foreigners. Their mouth has been speaking vain things, and their right hand is the right hand of iniquity.	11 E toglimi dalle mani de' figliuoli stranieri, la bocca de' quali di cose vane ragiona, e la loro destra, destra d'iniquità.
12 Their sons are like new plantings in their youth. Their daughters are dressed up: adorned all around like the idols of a temple.	12 I figliuoli de' quali sono come piante novelle nella lor giovinezza. Le loro figliuole abbigliate, e ornate da ogni lato, come l'idolo di un tempio.
13 Their cupboards are full: overflowing from one thing into another. Their sheep bear young, brought forth in abundance.	13 Le loro dispense ripiene, e ridondanti per ogni lato.
14 Their cattle are fat. There is no ruined wall or passage, nor anyone crying out in their streets.	14 Feconde le loro pecore escono fuori in branchi copiosi: pingui le loro vacche. Da ruina sono esenti le loro mura, e da incursione, né lebil grido si ode nelle lor piazze.
15 They have called the people that has these things: blessed. But blessed is the people whose God is the Lord.	15 Beato, hanno detto quel popolo che ha tali cose: beato il popolo, che per suo Dio ha il Signore.
