1 And when these things had been celebrated according to ritual, all of Israel who had been found in the cities of Judah went forth, and they broke apart the idols and cut down the sacred groves. They demolished the high places and destroyed the altars, not only out of all Judah and Benjamin, but also out of Ephraim as well as Manasseh, until they utterly destroyed them. And all the sons of Israel returned to their possessions and cities.	1 Ora, dopo che tutte queste cose furono compiute, tutti gl’Israeliti, che si ritrovarono quivi, uscirono per le città di Giuda, e spezzarono le statue, e tagliarono i boschi, e disfecero gli alti luoghi, e gli altari di tutto Giuda, e Beniamino; il medesimo fecero ancora in Efraim, ed in Manasse, senza lasciarne alcuna cosa di resto. Poi tutti i figliuoli d’Israele ritornarono ciascuno alla sua possessione nelle lor terre.
2 Then Hezekiah appointed the companies of the priests and Levites by their divisions, each man in his proper office, certainly as much for the priests as for the Levites, for the sake of holocausts and peace offerings, so that they might minister and confess and sing, at the gates of the camp of the Lord.	2 EZECHIA ristabilì ancora gli spartimenti de’ sacerdoti e de’ Leviti, secondo gli spartimenti che n’erano stati fatti; ciascuno secondo il suo ministerio, sacerdoti e Leviti, per offerire olocausti e sacrificii da render grazie; per ministrare, e per celebrare e cantar laudi; e per istare alle porte del campo del Signore.
3 Now the portion of the king, from his own substance, was such that they could offer a holocaust always, in morning and in evening, also on the Sabbaths, and the new moons, and the other solemnities, just as it was written in the law of Moses.	3 Ordinò eziandio la parte che il re fornirebbe delle sue facoltà per gli olocausti; per gli olocausti della mattina e della sera; e per gli olocausti de’ sabati, delle calendi, e delle feste solenni; come è scritto nella Legge del Signore;
4 And now he instructed the people living in Jerusalem that they were to give portions to the priests and Levites, so that they would be able to attend to the law of the Lord.	4 e disse al popolo, agli abitanti di Gerusalemme, che dessero a’ sacerdoti ed ai Leviti la parte loro; acciocchè prendessero animo di far ciò che la Legge del Signore comanda.
5 And when this had reached the ears of the multitude, the sons of Israel brought an abundance of first-fruits of grain, wine, and oil, and also honey. And they offered a tenth part of all that the soil brings forth.	5 E quando questo comandamento fu divolgato, i figliuoli d’Israele portarono le primizie del frumento, del vino, e dell’olio, e del miele, e d’ogni frutto della campagna, in gran quantità; portarono ancora le decime d’ogni cosa abbondantemente.
6 Then too, the sons of Israel and Judah, who were living in the cities of Judah, brought tithes of oxen and sheep, and tithes of the holy things that they had vowed to the Lord their God. And carrying all these things, they made many stacks.	6 I figliuoli d’Israele e di Giuda che abitavano nelle città di Giuda, addussero anch’essi le decime del grosso, e del minuto bestiame, e le decime delle cose sacre, consacrate al Signore Iddio loro; e le misero per mucchi.
7 In the third month, they began to lay out the foundations of the stacks. And in the seventh month, they finished them.	7 Al terzo mese cominciarono ad accumulare que’ mucchi, ed al settimo mese finirono.
8 And when Hezekiah and his rulers had entered, they saw the stacks, and they blessed the Lord and the people of Israel.	8 Ed Ezechia, ed i principali vennero, e videro que’ mucchi, e benedissero il Signore, ed il suo popolo Israele.
9 And Hezekiah questioned the priests and Levites, as to why the stacks were laid out in this way.	9 Ed Ezechia domandò i sacerdoti, e i Leviti, di que’ mucchi.
10 Azariah, the high priest from the stock of Zadok, answered him, saying: “Since the first-fruits began to be offered in the house of the Lord, we have eaten and been satisfied, and much remains. For the Lord has blessed his people. Then what was left over is this great abundance, which you see.”	10 Ed Azaria, principal sacerdote, della famiglia di Sadoc, gli disse: Da che si è cominciato a portar questa offerta alla Casa del Signore, noi abbiamo mangiato, e siamo stati saziati; e anche n’è rimasto assai; perciocchè il Signore ha benedetto il suo popolo; e quello ch’è avanzato, è questa grande abbondanza
11 And so Hezekiah instructed that they should prepare storage places for the house of the Lord. And when they had done so,	11 Ed Ezechia comandò che mettessero in ordine i cellieri e i granai nella Casa del Signore; ed essi li misero in ordine;
12 they faithfully brought in the first-fruits, as well as the tithes and all that they had vowed. Now the overseer of these things was Conaniah, a Levite; and his brother, Shimei, was second.	12 e vi portarono dentro fedelmente le offerte, e le decime, e le cose consacrate; e Conania Levita ebbe la soprantendenza di queste cose; e Simi, suo fratello, fu il secondo.
13 And after him, there was Jehiel, and Azariah, and Nahath, and Asaahel, and Jerimoth, and also Jozabad, and Eliel, and Ismachiah, and Mahath, and Benaiah, who were overseers under the hands of Conaniah, and his brother, Shimei, by the authority of Hezekiah, the king, and Azariah, the high priest of the house of God, to whom all these things belonged.	13 E Iehiel, ed Azazia, e Nahat, ed Asael, e Ierimot, e Iozabad, ed Eliel, ed Ismachia, e Mahat e Benaia, erano commessari sotto Conania, e sotto Simi, suo fratello, per ordine del re Ezechia, e di Azaria, conduttore della Casa di Dio.
14 Yet truly, Kore, the son of Imnah, a Levite and the porter of the eastern gate, was the overseer of the things that were being offered freely to the Lord, and of the first-fruits, and of the things consecrated for the Holy of Holies.	14 E Core, figliuolo d’Imma, Levita, portinaio verso Oriente, avea la cura delle cose volontariamente offerte a Dio, per fornir le offerte elevate del Signore, e le cose santissime.
15 And under his charge were Eden, and Benjamin, Jeshua, and Shemaiah, and also Amariah, and Shecaniah, in the cities of the priests, so that they would distribute faithfully to their brothers, the small as well as the great, their portions	15 E sotto lui erano Eden, e Miniamin, e Iesua, e Semaia, ed Amaria, e Secania, nelle città de’ sacerdoti procedenti in lealtà, per fornire a’ lor fratelli piccoli e grandi, secondo i loro spartimenti;
16 (except for the males from three years old and upward) for all who were entering the temple of the Lord, and for whatever was needed for the ministry, throughout each day, as well as for the observances according to their divisions.	16 cioè, a tutti coloro ch’entravano nella Casa del Signore, secondo il lor ministerio, per le lor mute, conforme a’ loro spartimenti, la lor porzione giorno per giorno; oltre a’ maschi d’infra loro, che furono annoverati per genealogie, dall’età di tre anni in su.
17 And so, for the priests, by their families, and for the Levites, from the twentieth year and upward, by their orders and companies,	17 Or la descrizione de’ sacerdoti e de’ Leviti, per le lor genealogie, distinti per le lor famiglie paterne, fu fatta dall’età di vent’anni in su, per li loro ufficii, secondo i loro spartimenti.
18 and for the entire multitude, as much for the wives as for their children of both sexes, provisions were offered faithfully from whatever had been sanctified.	18 La detta porzione fu eziandio data a tutta la moltitudine di tutte le lor famiglie, mogli, figliuoli e figliuole, descritti per genealogie perciocchè in su la fede di coloro essi si consacravano alle cose sante.
19 Then too, men were appointed of the sons of Aaron, throughout the fields and the suburbs of each city, who would distribute portions to all the males among the priests and Levites.	19 Parimente, quant’è a’ sacerdoti, figliuoli d’Aaronne, che stavano ne’ campi de’ contadi delle lor città, in ciascuna città v’erano degli uomini deputati per nome, per dar le porzioni a tutti i maschi d’infra i sacerdoti; ed in somma a chiunque d’infra i Leviti era annoverato per le lor genealogie.
20 Therefore, Hezekiah did all these things (which we have said) in all of Judah. And he worked what is good and upright and true before the Lord his God,	20 Così fece Ezechia per tutto Giuda; e fece ciò che è buono, e diritto, e leale davanti al Signore Iddio suo.
21 for the whole service of the ministry of the house of the Lord, in accord with the law and the ceremonies, desiring to seek his God with his whole heart. And he did so, and he prospered.	21 E si adoperò con tutto il cuor suo in tutta l’opera ch’egli imprese per lo servigio della Casa di Dio, e nella Legge, e nei comandamenti, ricercando l’Iddio suo; e prosperò
