3 And this is the stock of Etam: Jezreel, and Ishma, and Idbash. And the name of their sister was Hazzelelponi.	3 E questi furono figliuoli del padre di Etam, cioè: Izreel, ed Isma, ed Idbas: e il nome della lor sorella era Haslelponi.
4 Now Penuel was the father of Gedor, and Ezer was the father of Hushah. These are the sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephratha, the father of Bethlehem.	4 E Penuel fu padre di Ghedor, ed Ezer padre di Husa. Questi furono i figliuoli di Hur, promigenito di Efrat, padre di Bet-lehem.
5 Truly, for Ashhur, the father of Tekoa, there were two wives: Helah and Naarah.	5 Ed Ashur, padre di Tecoa, ebbe due mogli: Helea e Naara.

10 Truly, Jabez called upon the God of Israel, saying, “If only, when blessing, you will bless me, and will broaden my borders, and your hand will be with me, and you will cause me not to be oppressed by evil.” And God granted to him the things for which he prayed.	10 Or Iabes invocò l’Iddio d’Israele, dicendo: Oh! se pur mi benedicessi, ed allargassi i miei confini, e fosse la tua mano meco, e facessi che io non fossi afflitto d’alcun male! 11 Now Chelub, the brother of Shuhah, conceived Mehir, who was the father of Eshton.	11 E Chelub, fratello di Suha, generò Mehir, che fu padre di Eston.
12 Then Eshton conceived Bethrapha, and Paseah, and Tehinnah, the father of the city of Nahash. These are the men of Recah.	12 Ed Eston generò la famiglia di Rafa, e Pasea, e Tehinna, padre della città di Nahas. Questi furono la gente di Reca.

16 Also, the sons of Jehallelel: Ziph and Ziphah, Tiria and Asarel.	16 Ed i figliuoli di Iehalleleel furono Zif, e Zifa, Tiria, ed Asareel.
17 And the sons of Ezrah: Jether, and Mered, and Epher, and Jalon; and he conceived Miriam, and Shammai, and Ishbah, the father of Eshtemoa.	17 Ed i figliuoli di Esdra furono Ieter, e Mered, ed Efer, e Ialon; e la moglie di Mered partorì Miriam, e Sammai, ed Isba, padre di Estemoa.
18 And then his wife, Judaia, bore Jered, the father of Gedor, and Heber, the father of Soco, and Jekuthiel, the father of Zanoah. Now there were sons of Bithiah, the daughter of Pharaoh, whom Mered married,	18 E l’altra sua moglie Giudea partorì Iered, padre di Ghedor; ed Heber, padre di Soco; e Iecutiel, padre di Zanoa. 19 and sons of his wife Hodiah, the sister of Naham, the father of Keilah the Garmite, and of Eshtemoa, who was from Maacathi.	19 E questi ultimi furono figliuoli della moglie Giudea, la quale era sorella di Naham, padre de’ Garmei, abitanti in Cheila; e de’ Maacatiti, abitanti in Estemoa.
20 And the sons of Shimon: Amnon, and Rinnah, son of Hanan, and Tilon. And the sons of Ishi: Zoheth and Benzoheth.	20 E i figliuoli di Simone furono Amnon e Rinna; Ben-hanan e Tilon. Ed i figliuoli d’Isi furono Zobet e Ben-zohet.
21 The sons of Shelah, the son of Judah: Er, the father of Lecah, and Laadah, the father of Mareshah, and the kindred of the house of the workers of fine linen in the house of the oath,	21 I figliuoli di Sela, figliuolo di Giuda, furono Er, padre di Lecha; e Lada, padre di Maresa; e le famiglie della casa di Asbea, la quale esercitava l’arte del bisso;
22 and he who caused the sun to stand still, and the men of Lying, and Secure, and Burning, who were leaders in Moab, and who returned into Lehem. 24 The sons of Simeon: Nemuel and Jamin, Jarib, Zerah, Shaul;	24 I FIGLIUOLI di Simeone furono Nemuel, e Iamin, Iarib, Zera e Saulle;
25 Shallum his son, Mibsam his son, Mishma his son.	25 di cui fu figliuolo Sallum di cui fu figliuolo Mibsam, di cui fu figliuolo Misma.
26 The sons of Mishma: Hammuel his son, Zaccur his son, Shimei his son.	26 E il figliuolo di Misma fu Hamuel, di cui fu figliuolo Zaccur, di cui fu figliuolo Simi.
27 The sons of Shimei were sixteen, and there were six daughters. But his brothers did not have many sons, and the entire kindred was not equal to the sum of the sons of Judah.	27 E Simi ebbe sedici figliuoli e sei figliuole; ma i suoi fratelli non ebbero molti figliuoli; talchè tutta la lor nazione non moltiplicò al pari de’ figliuoli di Giuda.
28 Now they lived in Beersheba, and Moladah, and Hazarshual,	28 Ed abitarono in Beerseba, ed in Molada, ed in Hasar-sual,
29 and in Bilhah, and in Ezem, and in Tolad,	29 ed in Bilha, ed in Esem, ed in Tolad,
30 and in Bethuel, and in Hormah, and in Ziklag,	30 ed in Betuel, ed in Horma, ed in Siclag, ed in Bet-marcabot,
31 and in Beth-marcaboth, and in Hazarsusim, and in Bethbiri, and in Shaaraim. These were their cities until king David.	31 ed in Hasar-susim, ed in Bet-birei ed in Saaraim. Queste furono le lor città mentre regnò Davide.
32 And their towns were Etam, and Ain, Rimmon, and Tochen, and Ashan, five cities,	32 E le lor castella furono Etam, ed Ain; Rimmon, e Tochen, ed Asan, cinque terre;
33 with all their villages, on every side of these cities, as far as Baal. This is their habitation and the distribution of the settlements.	33 insieme con tutte le loro villate, ch’erano intorno a quelle città, fino a Baal. 34 And there were Meshobab and Jamlech, and Joshah, the son of Amaziah,	34 Or Mesobab, e Iamlec, e Iosa, figliuolo di Amasia;
35 and Joel, and Jehu, the son of Joshibiah, the son of Seraiah, the son of Asiel,	35 e Ioel, e Iehu, figliuolo di Iosibia, figliuolo di Seraia, figliuolo di Asiel;
36 and Elioenai, and Jaakobah, and Jeshohaiah, and Asaiah, and Adiel, and Jesimiel, and Benaiah,	36 ed Elioenai, e Iaacoba, e Iesohaia, ed Asaia, ed Adiel, e Iesimiel, e Benaia;
37 as well as Ziza, the son of Shiphi, the son of Allon, the son of Jedaiah, the son of Shimri, the son of Shemaiah.	37 e Ziza, figliuolo di Sifi, figliuolo di Allon, figliuolo di Iedaia, figliuolo di Simri, figliuolo di Semaia;
38 These were the names of the leaders in their kindred. And they were multiplied greatly within the houses of their marriages.	38 costoro furono quelli ch’erano famosi, capi nelle lor famiglie; e le case loro paterne crebbero in grandissimo numero.
39 And they set out, so that they might enter into Gedor, as far as the eastern valley, and so that they might seek pastures for their flocks.	39 Laonde andarono dall’entrata di Ghedor, fino alla parte orientale della valle, per cercar paschi per i lor bestiami.
40 And they found fat and very good pastures, and a very wide and quiet and fruitful land, in which some from the stock of Ham had lived before.	40 E trovarono de’ paschi grassi e buoni, ed un paese largo, quieto e felice; perciocchè quelli che vi abitavano prima eran de’ discendenti di Cam.
41 So then, those whose names have been written above, went forth in the days of Hezekiah, the king of Judah. And they struck down the inhabitants who had been found there with their dwellings. And they wiped them out, even to the present day. And they lived in place of them, because they found very fat pastures there.	41 Costoro adunque, che sono stati descritti per i nomi loro, vennero al tempo di Ezechia, re di Giuda, e percossero le tende di coloro, e gli abitacoli che vi furono ritrovati; e li distrussero a modo dell’interdetto; e così son restati fino a questo giorno, ed abitarono in luogo loro; perciocchè quivi erano paschi per le lor gregge.
42 Also, some of the sons of Simeon, five hundred men, went away to mount Seir, having as leaders Pelatiah and Neariah and Rephaiah and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi.	42 Oltre a ciò, cinquecento uomini d’infra loro, de’ figliuoli di Simeone, avendo per lor capi Pelatia, e Nearia, e Refaia, ed Uzziel, figliuoli d’Isi, andarono al monte di Seir.
43 And they struck down the remnant of the Amalekites, those who had been able to escape, and they lived there in place of them, even to this day.	43 E percossero il rimanente degli scampati d’infra gli Amalechiti; e sono abitati quivi infino a questo giorno
