1 Also, he made houses for himself in the City of David. And built a place for the ark of God, and he set up a tent for it.	1 Egli si fabbricò delle case nella città di David, ed edificò un luogo per l'arca di Dio, e formolle un tabernacolo.
2 Then David said: “It is illicit for anyone to carry the ark of God except the Levites, whom the Lord chose to carry it and to minister to himself, even unto eternity.”	2 Allora disse David: Non è lecito, che l'arca di Dio sia portata da altri, che dai Leviti eletti dal Signore a portarla, e ad essere suoi ministri in perpetuo.
3 And he gathered all of Israel in Jerusalem, so that the ark of God might be brought into its place, which he had prepared for it.	3 E convocò tutto Israele a Gerusalemme per far portare l'arca di Dio al suo luogo, ch'ei le avea preparato.
4 Certainly, there were both the sons of Aaron and the Levites:	4 E (convocò) anche i figliuoli di Aaronne, e i Leviti.
5 From the sons of Kohath, Uriel was the leader, and his brothers were one hundred twenty.	5 De' figliuoli di Caath, era capo Uriel; e avea seco cento venti de' suoi fratelli.
6 From the sons of Merari: Asaiah was the leader, and his brothers were two hundred twenty.	6 De' figliuoli di Merari, era capo Asaia; e con lui dugento venti de' suoi fratelli.
7 From the sons of Gershom: Joel was the leader, and his brothers were one hundred thirty.	7 De' figliuoli di Gersom, capo era Joel; e con lui cento trenta de' suoi fratelli.
8 From the sons of Elizaphan: Shemaiah was the leader, and his brothers were two hundred.	8 De' figliuoli di Elisaphan, era capo Semeia; e avea seco dugento fratelli.
9 From the sons of Hebron: Eliel was the leader, and his brothers were eighty.	9 De' figliuoli di Hebron, era capo Eliei; e avea seco ottanta fratelli.
10 From the sons of Uzziel: Amminadab was the leader, and his brothers were one hundred twelve.	10 De' figliuoli di Oziel, capo era Aminadab; e con lui cento dodici fratelli.
11 And David summoned the priests, Zadok and Abiathar, and the Levites: Uriel, Asaiah, Joel, Shemaiah, Eliel, and Amminadab.	11 E David chiamò a se Sadoc, e Abiathar Sacerdoti, e i Leviti, Uriel, Asaia, Joel, Semeia, Eliei, e Aminadab:
12 And he said to them: “You who are the leaders of the Levitical families, be sanctified with your brothers, and bring the ark of the Lord God of Israel to the place that has been prepared for it.	12 E disse loro: Voi, che siete i capi delle famiglie Levitiche, purificatevi insieme co' vostri fratelli, e portate l'arca del Signore Dio d'Israele al luogo preparato per essa;
13 Otherwise, as it was before, when the Lord struck us because you were not present, so also it might be now, if we do what is illicit.”	13 Affinchè come l'altra volta il Signore ci gastigò, perchè voi non eravate presenti, cosi non avvenisse ora, se alcuna cosa non permessa si facesse da noi.
14 Therefore, the priests and the Levites were sanctified, so that they might carry the ark of the Lord God of Israel.	14 Si purificarono adunque i sacerdoti, e i Leviti, per portar l'arca del Signore Dio d'Israele.
15 And the sons of Levi took the ark of God, just as Moses had instructed, in accord with the word of the Lord, upon their shoulders by the bars.	15 E portarono l'arca dì Dio il figliuolo di Levi (conforme aveva ordinato Mosè secondo la parola del Signore) sopra le loro spalle, sulle stanghe.
16 And David spoke to the leaders of the Levites, so that they might appoint, from their brothers, singers with musical instruments, specifically, psalteries, and harps, and cymbals, so that a joyful noise might resound on high.	16 E David ordinò ai capi de' Leviti, che scegliessero tra i loro fratelli dei cantori, e sonatori di musicali strumenti, viene a dire, di nabli, lire, e cimbali, affinchè risonassero fino al cielo i suoni di letizia.
17 And they appointed from the Levites: Heman, the son of Joel; and from his brothers, Asaph, the son of Berechiah; and truly, from their brothers, the sons of Merari: Ethan, the son of Kushaiah.	17 E quelli scelsero de' Leviti. Heman figliuolo di Joel, e de' fratelli di lui, Asaph figliuolo di Barachia; e dei figliuoli di Merari, e loro fratelli, Ethan figliuoli di Casaia:
18 And with them were their brothers in the second rank: Zechariah, and Ben, and Jaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jahiel, and Unni, and Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Eliphelehu, and Mikneiah, and Obededom, and Jeiel, who were gatekeepers.	18 E con essi i loro fratelli: e nel secondo ordine Zacharia, e Ben, e Jaziel, e Semiramoth, e Jahiel, e Ani, Eliab, e Banaia, e Maasia, e Mathathia, ed Eliphalu, e Macenia, e Obededom, e Jehiel, che erano portinai.
19 Now the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, were sounding out with cymbals of brass.	19 E i cantori Heman, Asaph, ed Ethan sonavano i cimbali di bronzo.
20 And Zechariah, and Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, and Eliab, and Maaseiah, and Benaiah were singing mysteries with the psalteries.	20 E Zacharia, e Oziel, e Semiramoth, e Jahiel, e Ani, ed Eliab, e Maasia, e Banaia cantavano inni misteriosi sui nabli.
21 Then Mattithiah, and Eliphelehu, and Mikneiah and Obededom, and Jeiel and Azaziah were singing a song of victory with the harps, for the octave.	21 E Mathathia, ed Eliphalu, e Macenia, e Obededom, e Jehiel, e Ozazia cantavano inni di vittoria sulle cetere a otto corde.
22 Now Chenaniah, the leader of the Levites, was foremost over the prophecies, in order to mark out in advance the melodies. For indeed, he was very skillful.	22 E Chonenia principe de' Leviti era quello, che presedeva al canto, per dare il tuono: perocché era molto intelligente.
23 And Berechiah and Elkanah were porters of the ark.	23 E Barachia, ed Elcana facevano da portinaj dell'arca.
24 And the priests, Shebaniah, and Joshaphat, and Nethanel, and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer, were sounding the trumpets before the ark of God. And Obededom and Jehiah were porters of the ark.	24 E Sebenia, e Josaphat, e Nathanael, e Amasai, e Zacharia, e Banaia, ed Eliezer sacerdoti sonavan le trombe dinanzi all'arca di Dio: e Obededom, e Jehia erano uscieri dell'arca.
25 Therefore, David, and all those greater by birth of Israel, and the tribunes, went to carry the ark of the covenant of the Lord from the house of Obededom with rejoicing.	25 Davidde adunque, e tutti i seniori d'Israele, e i tribuni andarono a trasportare l'arca del testamento del Signore dalla casa di Obededom con gran festa.
26 And when God had assisted the Levites, who were carrying the ark of the covenant of the Lord, they immolated seven bulls and seven rams.	26 E perchè Dio avea dato aiuto ai Leviti, che portavano l'arca del testamento del Signore, furono immolati sette tori, e sette arieti.
27 Now David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, as were all the Levites who were carrying the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah, the leader of the prophecy among the singers. But David was also clothed with a linen ephod.	27 Davidde poi era vestito di una veste lunga di bisso, come anche tutti i Leviti, che portavan l'arca, e i cantori, e Chonenia maestro del coro dei cantori: ma David avea ancora un Ephod di lino.
28 And all of Israel were leading back the ark of the covenant of the Lord with jubilation, sounding out with the noise of horns, and trumpets, and cymbals, and psalteries, and harps.	28 E tutto Israele accompagnava l'arca del testamento del Signore con voci di giubilo, e tra i suoni di buccine, e di trombe, e di cimbali, e di nabli, e di cetere.
29 And when the ark of the covenant of the Lord had arrived in the City of David, Michal, the daughter of Saul, gazing through a window, saw king David dancing and playing, and she despised him in her heart.	29 E quando l'arca del testamento del Signore fu arrivata sino alla città di David, Michol figliuola di Saul mirando da una finestra, vide il re David, che saltava, e ballava; e in cuor suo lo disprezzò.
