1 In the twenty-seventh year of Jeroboam, the king of Israel: Azariah, the son of Amaziah, reigned as king of Judah.	1 Azarias, fils d’Amasias, roi de Juda, commença à régner en la vingt-septième année de Jéroboam, roi d’Israël.
2 He was sixteen years old when he had begun to reign, and he reigned for fifty-two years in Jerusalem. The name of his mother was Jecoliah of Jerusalem.	2 Il avait 16 ans lorsqu’il monta sur le trône et il régna 52 ans à Jérusalem; sa mère s’appelait Yékolyas, elle était de Jérusalem.
3 And he did what was pleasing before the Lord, in accord with all that his father, Amaziah, did.	3 Il fit ce qui est juste aux yeux de Yahvé, comme l’avait fait son père Amasias.
4 Yet truly, he did not demolish the high places. And still the people were sacrificing, and burning incense, in the high places.	4 Seulement les Hauts-Lieux ne disparurent pas, le peuple continua d’offrir des sacrifices et de faire fumer de l’encens sur les Hauts-Lieux.
5 Now the Lord struck the king, and he became a leper, even until the day of his death. And he was living in a separate house by himself. And truly, Jotham, the son of the king, governed the palace, and he judged the people of the land.	5 Yahvé frappa le roi: il fut lépreux jusqu’à sa mort et il dut habiter une maison isolée; Yotam, le fils du roi, était chef du palais et gouvernait le peuple-du-pays.
6 Now the rest of the words of Azariah, and all that he did, have these not been written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Judah?	6 Le reste des actes d’Azarias, tout ce qu’il a fait, cela n’est-il pas écrit dans le Livre des Chroniques des rois de Juda?
7 And Azariah slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his ancestors in the city of David. And Jotham, his son, reigned in his place.	7 Azarias se coucha avec ses pères et on l’enterra avec ses pères dans la Cité de David; son fils Yotam régna à sa place.
8 In the thirty-eighth year of Azariah, the king of Judah: Zechariah, the son of Jeroboam, reigned over Israel, in Samaria, for six months.	8 En la trente-huitième année d’Azarias, roi de Juda, Zacharie, fils de Jéroboam, devint roi sur Israël à Samarie pour 6 mois.
9 And he did what is evil before the Lord, just as his fathers had done. He did not withdraw from the sins of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, who caused Israel to sin.	9 Il fit ce qui est mal au regard de Yahvé, comme l’avaient fait ses pères. Il ne se détourna pas des péchés dans lesquels Jéroboam, fils de Nabat, avait entraîné Israël.
10 Then Shallum, the son of Jabesh, conspired against him. And he struck him openly, and killed him. And he reigned in his place.	10 Challoum, fils de Yabech, conspira contre lui; il l’assassina à Yibléam et devint roi à sa place.
11 Now the rest of the words of Zechariah, have these not been written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Israel?	11 Le reste des actes de Zacharie est écrit dans le Livre des Chroniques des rois d’Israël.
12 This was the word of the Lord, which he spoke to Jehu, saying: “Your sons, even to the fourth generation, shall sit upon the throne of Israel.” And so it happened.	12 Yahvé avait bien dit à Jéhu: “Tes fils s’assiéront sur le trône d’Israël jusqu’à la quatrième génération.” Et c’est ce qui arriva.
13 Shallum, the son of Jabesh, reigned in the thirty-ninth year of Azariah, the king of Judah. And he reigned for one month, in Samaria.	13 Challoum fils de Yabech commença à régner en la trente-neuvième année d’Ozias, roi de Juda. Il ne régna qu’un mois à Samarie.
14 And Menahem, the son of Gadi, ascended from Tirzah. And he went into Samaria, and he struck Shallum, the son of Jabesh, in Samaria. And he killed him, and reigned in his place.	14 Ménahem fils de Gadi monta de Tirsa et entra à Samarie où il assassina Challoum fils de Yabech; après quoi il devint roi à sa place.
15 Now the rest of the words of Shallum, and his conspiracy, by which he carried out treachery, have these not been written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Israel?	15 Le reste des actes de Challoum et la façon dont il conspira, cela est écrit dans le Livre des Chroniques des rois d’Israël.
16 Then Menahem struck Tirzah, and all who were in it, and its borders around Tirzah. For they were not willing to open to him. And he killed all of its pregnant women, and he tore them open.	16 Alors Ménahem frappa Tapoua et tous ses habitants ainsi que tout son territoire à partir de Tirsa parce qu’on ne lui avait pas ouvert les portes; il éventra toutes les femmes enceintes.
17 In the thirty-ninth year of Azariah, the king of Judah: Menahem, son of Gadi, reigned over Israel for ten years, in Samaria.	17 Ménahem fils de Gadi commença à régner sur Israël à Samarie en la trente-neuvième année d’Azarias, roi de Juda. Il régna 10 ans.
18 And he did what was evil before the Lord. He did not withdraw from the sins of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, who caused Israel to sin, during all his days.	18 Il fit ce qui est mal au regard de Yahvé, il ne se détourna pas des péchés dans lesquels Jéroboam fils de Nabat avait entraîné Israël. Durant ses jours,
19 Then Pul, the king of the Assyrians, came into the land. And Menahem gave Pul one thousand talents of silver, so that he would be a help to him, and so that he might strengthen his kingdom.	19 Poul, roi d’Assyrie, envahit le pays; Ménahem lui donna 1 000 talents d’argent pour qu’il lui apporte son aide et qu’il affermisse le pouvoir royal entre ses mains.
20 And Menahem proclaimed a tax upon Israel, on all who were powerful and wealthy, so that each one would give to the king of the Assyrians fifty shekels of silver. Then the king of the Assyrians turned back, and he did not remain in the land.	20 Ménahem préleva cet argent sur Israël: tous les notables durent verser 50 pièces d’argent par personne pour les donner au roi d’Assyrie. Après quoi le roi d’Assyrie quitta le pays et s’en retourna.

23 In the fiftieth year of Azariah, the king of Judah: Pekahiah, the son of Menahem, reigned over Israel, in Samaria, for two years.	23 Pékahya, fils de Ménahem, commença à régner sur Israël pour deux ans à Samarie, en la cinquantième année d’Azarias, roi de Juda.
24 And he did what was evil before the Lord. He did not withdraw from the sins of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, who caused Israel to sin.	24 Il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de Yahvé, il ne se détourna pas des péchés dans lesquels Jéroboam fils de Nabat avait entraîné Israël.
25 Then Pekah, the son of Remaliah, his commander, conspired against him. And he struck him in Samaria, in the tower of the king’s house, near Argob and Arieh, and with him fifty men from the sons of the Gileadites. And he killed him, and reigned in his place.	25 Pékah, fils de Rémalyas, son écuyer, conspira contre lui et l’assassina à Samarie dans le donjon du palais royal. Il avait eu recours à 50 hommes de Galaad pour assassiner le roi et régner à sa place.

27 In the fifty-second year of Azariah, the king of Judah: Pekah, the son of Remaliah, reigned over Israel, in Samaria, for twenty years.	27 Pékah, fils de Rémalyas, commença à régner à Samarie en la cinquante-deuxième année d’Azarias, roi de Juda; il régna 20 ans.
28 And he did what was evil before the Lord. He did not withdraw from the sins of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, who caused Israel to sin.	28 Il fit ce qui est mal au regard de Yahvé, il ne se détourna pas des péchés dans lesquels Jéroboam fils de Nabat avait entraîné Israël.
29 In the days of Pekah, the king of Israel, Tiglath-pileser, the king of Assyria, arrived and captured Ijon, and Abel Bethmaacah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, and the entire land of Naphtali. And he took them away into Assyria.	29 Durant les jours de Pékah, roi d’Israël, Téglat-Phalasar, roi d’Assyrie, vint s’emparer d’Iyon, d’Abel-Beth-Maaka, de Yanoa, de Qédesh, de Haçor, du Galaad et de la Galilée, de tout le pays de Nephtali; il déporta leurs habitants en Assyrie.
30 Then Hoshea, the son of Elah, conspired and carried out treachery against Pekah, the son of Remaliah. And he struck him, and killed him. And he reigned in his place, in the twentieth year of Jotham, the son of Uzziah.	30 Osée, fils d’Éla, monta alors un complot contre Pékah, fils de Rémalyas; il l’assassina et régna à sa place en la vingtième année de Yotam fils d’Ozias.
31 Now the rest of the words of Pekah, and all that he did, have these not been written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Israel?	31 Le reste des actes de Pékah et tout ce qu’il a fait, cela est écrit dans le Livre des Chroniques des rois d’Israël.
32 In the second year of Pekah, the son of Remaliah, the king of Israel: Jotham, son of Uzziah, reigned as king of Judah.	32 Yotam, fils d’Ozias, roi de Juda, commença à régner en la deuxième année de Pékah, fils de Rémalyas, roi d’Israël.
33 He was twenty-five years old when he had begun to reign, and he reigned for sixteen years in Jerusalem. The name of his mother was Jerusha, the daughter of Zadok.	33 Il avait 25 ans lorsqu’il monta sur le trône et il régna 16 ans à Jérusalem; sa mère s’appelait Yéroucha, elle était fille de Sadoq.
34 And he did what was pleasing before the Lord. In accord with all that his father, Uzziah, had done, so he did.	34 Il fit ce qui est juste au regard de Yahvé, comme l’avait fait son père Ozias;
35 Yet truly, he did not take away the high places. And still the people were immolating, and burning incense, in the high places. But he edified the gate of the house of the Lord to be very sublime.	35 seulement les Hauts-Lieux ne disparurent pas. Le peuple continua d’offrir des sacrifices et de faire fumer de l’encens sur les Hauts-Lieux. C’est lui qui construisit la Porte Haute du Temple de Yahvé.
36 Now the rest of the words of Jotham, and all that he did, have these not been written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Judah?	36 Le reste des actes de Yotam, ce qu’il a fait, cela n’est-il pas écrit dans le Livre des Chroniques des rois de Juda?
37 In those days, the Lord began to send, into Judah, Rezin, the king of Syria, and Pekah, the son of Remaliah.	37 En ces jours-là, Yahvé commença de lancer Razone, roi d’Aram, et Pékah fils de Rémalyas, contre Juda.
38 And Jotham slept with his fathers, and he was buried with them in the city of David, his father. And Ahaz, his son, reigned in his place.	38 Yotam se coucha avec ses pères, et on l’enterra avec ses pères dans la Cité de David son ancêtre; Akaz, son fils, régna à sa place.
