1 Then the word of the Lord came to Jehu, the son of Hanani, against Baasha, saying:	1 La palabra del Señor llegó entonces a Jehú, hijo de Jananí, contra Basá, en estos términos:
2 “Even though I exalted you from the dust, and I set you as ruler over my people Israel, still you have walked in the way of Jeroboam, and you have caused my people Israel to sin, so that you have provoked me by their sins.	2 «Yo te levanté del polvo y te constituí jefe de mi pueblo Israel. Pero tú has seguido el camino de Jeroboam y has hecho pecar a mi pueblo Israel, provocándome así con sus pecados.
3 Behold, I will cut down the posterity of Baasha, and the posterity of his house. And I will make your house like the house of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat.	3 Por eso, voy a barrer hasta los últimos restos de Basá y de su casa, y dejaré tu casa como la de Jeroboam, hijo de Nebat.
4 Whoever will have died of Baasha in the city, the dogs will consume him. And whoever will have died of him in the countryside, the birds of the air will consume him.”	4 Al de la familia de Basá que muera en la ciudad, lo comerán los perros, y al que muera en descampado, lo comerán las aves del cielo».
5 Now the rest of the words of Baasha, and whatever he did, and his battles, were these not written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Israel?	5 El resto de los hechos de Basá y todo lo que él hizo, así como su valentía, ¿no está escrito todo eso en el Libro de los Anales de los reyes de Israel?
6 Then Baasha slept with his fathers, and he was buried at Tirzah. And Elah, his son, reigned in his place.	6 Basá se fue a descansar con sus padres y fue sepultado en Tirsá. Su hijo Elá reinó en lugar de él.
7 And when the word of the Lord had arrived by the hand of the prophet Jehu, the son of Hanani, against Baasha, and against his house, and against every evil that he had done before the Lord, so that he provoked him by the works of his hands, so that he became like the house of Jeroboam: for this reason, he killed him, that is, the prophet Jehu, the son of Hanani.	7 Además, por medio del profeta Jehú, hijo de Jananí, la palabra del Señor fue dirigida a Basá y a su casa, por todo el mal que este había hecho a los ojos del Señor, provocando su indignación con la obra de sus manos, hasta el punto de llegar a ser como la casa de Jeroboam, y también por haber exterminado su estirpe.
8 In the twenty-sixth year of Asa, the king of Judah, Elah, the son of Baasha, reigned over Israel, at Tirzah, for two years.	8 El vigésimo sexto año de Asá, rey de Judá, comenzó a reinar sobre Israel Elá, hijo de Basá, y reinó dos años en Tirsá.
9 And his servant Zimri, the commander of one half part the horsemen, rebelled against him. Now Elah was drinking at Tirzah, and he became inebriated in the house of Arza, the prefect of Tirzah.	9 Su servidor Zimrí, jefe de media división de los carros de guerra, conspiró contra él; y mientras Elá estaba en Tirsá, bebiendo hasta embriagarse en casa de Arsá, el mayordomo de palacio,
10 Then Zimri, rushing in, struck him and killed him, in the twenty-seventh year of Asa, the king of Judah. And he reigned in his place.	10 entró Zimrí, lo hirió de muerte y reinó en lugar de él. Era el vigésimo séptimo año de Asá, rey de Judá.
11 And when he had reigned and had sat upon his throne, he struck down the entire house of Baasha. And he did not leave behind of them anything that urinates against a wall, among both close relatives and his friends.	11 Apenas se proclamó rey y se sentó en su trono, él acabó con toda la casa de Basá, sin dejarle ningún varón, ni parientes cercanos ni amigos.
12 And so, Zimri destroyed the entire house of Baasha, in accord with the word of the Lord, which he had spoken to Baasha, by the hand the prophet of Jehu,	12 Zimrí exterminó a toda la casa de Basá, conforme a la palabra que el Señor había pronunciado contra él por medio del profeta Jehú,
13 because of all the sins of Baasha, and the sins of Elah, his son, who sinned and caused Israel to sin, provoking the Lord, the God of Israel, with their vanities.	13 a causa de todos los pecados que Basá y su hijo Elá habían cometido y habían hecho cometer a Israel, provocando con sus ídolos vanos la indignación del Señor, el Dios de Israel.
14 But the rest of the words of Elah, and all that he did, were these not written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Israel?	14 El resto de los hechos de Elá y todo lo que él hizo, ¿no está escrito en el libro de los Anales de los reyes de Israel?
15 In the twenty-seventh year of Asa, the king of Judah, Zimri reigned for seven days in Tirzah. For the army was besieging Gibbethon, a city of the Philistines.	15 El vigésimo séptimo año de Asá, rey de Judá, comenzó a reinar Zimrí, y reinó siete días en Tirsá. Mientras tanto, el ejército estaba acampado contra Guibetón, que pertenecía a los filisteos.
16 And when they had heard that Zimri had rebelled, and that he had killed the king, all of Israel made Omri as a king for themselves; he was the leader of the military over Israel in the encampment in that day.	16 Cuando el ejército acampado oyó decir: «Zimrí ha tramado una conspiración e incluso ha matado al rey», ese mismo día, en el campamento, todo Israel proclamó rey de Israel a Omrí, el jefe del ejército.
17 Therefore, Omri ascended, and all of Israel with him, from Gibbethon, and they besieged Tirzah.	17 Omrí y todo Israel con él subieron de Guibetón y sitiaron a Tirsá.
18 Then Zimri, seeing that the city was about to be taken, entered the palace, and he set fire to himself along with the royal house. And he died	18 Cuando Zimrí vio que la ciudad era tomada, entró en el torreón del palacio real, prendió fuego al palacio y así murió.
19 in his sins, which he had sinned, doing evil before the Lord, and walking in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin, by which he caused Israel to sin.	19 Esto sucedió por el pecado que había cometido, haciendo lo que es malo a los ojos del Señor, siguiendo el camino de Jeroboam y persistiendo en el pecado que este había cometido al hacer pecar a Israel.
20 But the rest of the words of Zimri, and of his treachery and tyranny, were these not written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Israel?	20 El resto de los hechos de Zimrí y la conspiración que él urdió, ¿no está escrito en el libro de los Anales de los reyes de Israel?
21 Then the people of Israel were divided into two parts: one half part of the people followed Tibni, the son of Ginath, having appointed him as king, and one half part followed Omri.	21 Entonces, el pueblo de Israel se dividió en dos: una mitad del pueblo siguió a Tibní, hijo de Guinat, para hacerlo rey; la otra mitad, en cambio, siguió a Omrí.
22 But the people who were with Omri prevailed over the people who were following Tibni, the son of Ginath. And Tibni died, and Omri reigned.	22 Pero el partido de Omrí prevaleció sobre los partidarios de Tibní, hijo de Guinat. Tibní murió y Omrí quedó como rey.
23 In the thirty-first year of Asa, the king of Judah, Omri reigned over Israel for twelve years; he reigned for six years at Tirzah.	23 El trigésimo primer año de Asá, rey de Judá, comenzó a reinar sobre Israel, y reinó doce años. Reinó seis años en Tirsá,
24 And he bought the mount of Samaria from Shemer for two talents of silver. And he built upon it, and he called the name of the city that he had built, Samaria, after the name of Shemer, the owner of the mount.	24 y luego le compró a Sémer el monto de Samaría, por dos talentos de plata. Levantó edificaciones en la montaña, y dio a la ciudad que había edificado el nombre de Samaría, por el nombre de Sémer, el dueño del monto.
25 But Omri did evil in the sight of the Lord, and he wrought wickedness, beyond all who had been before him.	25 Omrí hizo lo que es malo a los ojos del Señor, y obró peor aún que sus predecesores.
26 And he walked in all the ways of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, and in his sins, by which he had caused Israel to sin, so that he provoked the Lord, the God of Israel, by their vanities.	26 Siguió en todo el camino de Jeroboam, hijo de Nebat, y persistió en los pecados con que él hizo pecar a Israel, provocando con sus ídolos vanos la indignación del Señor, el Dios de Israel.
27 Now the rest of the words of Omri, and his battles that he carried out, were these not written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Israel?	27 El resto de los hechos de Omrí, todo lo que él hizo y las proezas que realizó, ¿no está escrito todo eso en el libro de los Anales de los reyes de Israel?
28 And Omri slept with his fathers, and he was buried in Samaria. And Ahab, his son, reigned in his place.	28 Omrí se fue a descansar con sus padres y fue sepultado en Samaría. Su hijo Ajab reinó en lugar de él.
29 Truly, Ahab, the son of Omri, reigned over Israel in the thirty-eighth year of Asa, the king of Judah. And Ahab, the son of Omri, reigned over Israel at Samaria for twenty-two years.	29 Ajab, hijo de Omrí, comenzó a reinar sobre Israel el trigésimo octavo año de Asá, rey de Judá, y reinó sobre Israel, en Samaría, durante veintidós años.
30 And Ahab, the son of Omri, did evil in the sight of the Lord, beyond all who had been before him.	30 Ajab, hijo de Omrí, hizo lo que es malo a los ojos del Señor, más que todos sus predecesores.
31 And it was not enough for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat. In addition, he took as a wife Jezebel, the daughter of Eth-baal, the king of the Sidonians. And he went astray, and he served Baal, and adored him.	31 Y como si no le hubiera bastado persistir en los pecados de Jeroboam, hijo de Nebat, tomó por esposa a Jezabel, hija de Etbaal, rey de los sidonios, y fue a servir a Baal y se postró delante de él.
32 And he set up an altar for Baal, in the temple of Baal, which he had built at Samaria.	32 Erigió además un altar a Baal en el templo que le había construido en Samaría.
33 And he planted a sacred grove. And Ahab added to his works, provoking the Lord, the God of Israel, beyond all the kings of Israel who had been before him.	33 Ajab hizo también el Poste sagrado, y continuó provocando la indignación del Señor, el Dios de Israel, más que todos los reyes que lo habían precedido.
34 In his days, Hiel from Bethel built up Jericho. With Abiram, his firstborn, he founded it, and with Segub, his youngest son, he set up its gates, in accord with the word of the Lord, which he had spoken by the hand of Joshua, the son of Nun.	34 En su tiempo, Jiel de Betel reconstruyó Jericó: poner los cimientos le costó la vida de Abiram, su primogénito, y asentar las puertas le costó la vida de Segub, su hijo menor, conforme a la palabra que había pronunciado el Señor por medio de Josué, hijo de Nun.
