1 After this, I saw another angel come down from heaven, with great authority given to him; the earthshone with his glory.	1 После сего я увидел иного Ангела, сходящего с неба и имеющего власть великую; земля осветилась от славы его.
2 At the top of his voice he shouted, 'Babylon has fal en, Babylon the Great has fallen, and has becomethe haunt of devils and a lodging for every foul spirit and dirty, loathsome bird.	2 И воскликнул он сильно, громким голосом говоря: пал, пал Вавилон, великая [блудница], сделался жилищем бесов и пристанищем всякому нечистому духу, пристанищем всякой нечистой и отвратительной птице; ибо яростным вином блудодеяния своего она напоила все народы,
3 Al the nations have drunk deep of the wine of her prostitution; every king on the earth has prostitutedhimself with her, and every merchant grown rich through her debauchery.'	3 и цари земные любодействовали с нею, и купцы земные разбогатели от великой роскоши ее.
4 Another voice spoke from heaven; I heard it say, 'Come out, my people, away from her, so that you donot share in her crimes and have the same plagues to bear.	4 И услышал я иной голос с неба, говорящий: выйди от нее, народ Мой, чтобы не участвовать вам в грехах ее и не подвергнуться язвам ее;
5 Her sins have reached up to the sky, and God has her crimes in mind: treat her as she has treatedothers.	5 ибо грехи ее дошли до неба, и Бог воспомянул неправды ее.
6 She must be paid double the amount she exacted. She is to have a doubly strong cup of her ownmixture.	6 Воздайте ей так, как и она воздала вам, и вдвое воздайте ей по делам ее; в чаше, в которой она приготовляла вам вино, приготовьте ей вдвое.
7 Every one of her pomps and orgies is to be matched by a torture or an agony. I am enthroned asqueen, she thinks; I am no widow and wil never know bereavement.	7 Сколько славилась она и роскошествовала, столько воздайте ей мучений и горестей. Ибо она говорит в сердце своем: 'сижу царицею, я не вдова и не увижу горести!'
8 For that, in one day, the plagues wil fal on her: disease and mourning and famine. She wil be burnedto the ground. The Lord God who has condemned her is mighty.'	8 За то в один день придут на нее казни, смерть и плач и голод, и будет сожжена огнем, потому что силен Господь Бог, судящий ее.
9 'There will be mourning and weeping for her by the kings of the earth who have prostituted themselveswith her and held orgies with her. They see the smoke as she burns,	9 И восплачут и возрыдают о ней цари земные, блудодействовавшие и роскошествовавшие с нею, когда увидят дым от пожара ее,
10 while they keep at a safe distance through fear of her anguish. They wil say: Mourn, mourn for thisgreat city, Babylon, so powerful a city, in one short hour your doom has come upon you.	10 стоя издали от страха мучений ее [и] говоря: горе, горе [тебе], великий город Вавилон, город крепкий! ибо в один час пришел суд твой.
11 'There wil be weeping and distress over her among al the traders of the earth when no one is left tobuy their cargoes of goods;	11 И купцы земные восплачут и возрыдают о ней, потому что товаров их никто уже не покупает,
12 their stocks of gold and silver, jewels and pearls, linen and purple and silks and scarlet; al thesandalwood, every piece in ivory or fine wood, in bronze or iron or marble;	12 товаров золотых и серебряных, и камней драгоценных и жемчуга, и виссона и порфиры, и шелка и багряницы, и всякого благовонного дерева, и всяких изделий из слоновой кости, и всяких изделий из дорогих дерев, из меди и железа и мрамора,
13 the cinnamon and spices, the myrrh and ointment and incense; wine, oil, flour and corn; their stocksof cattle, sheep, horses and chariots, their slaves and their human cargo.	13 корицы и фимиама, и мира и ладана, и вина и елея, и муки и пшеницы, и скота и овец, и коней и колесниц, и тел и душ человеческих.
14 'Al the fruits you had set your hearts on have failed you; gone for ever, never to return again, is yourlife of magnificence and ease.	14 И плодов, угодных для души твоей, не стало у тебя, и все тучное и блистательное удалилось от тебя; ты уже не найдешь его.
15 'The traders who had made a fortune out of her wil be standing at a safe distance through fear of heranguish, mourning and weeping.	15 Торговавшие всем сим, обогатившиеся от нее, станут вдали от страха мучений ее, плача и рыдая
16 They wil be saying: Mourn, mourn for this great city; for al the linen and purple and scarlet that youwore, for al your finery of gold and jewels and pearls;	16 и говоря: горе, горе [тебе], великий город, одетый в виссон и порфиру и багряницу, украшенный золотом и камнями драгоценными и жемчугом,
17 your huge riches are al destroyed within a single hour.' Al the captains and seafaring men, sailorsand all those who make a living from the sea kept a safe distance,	17 ибо в один час погибло такое богатство! И все кормчие, и все плывущие на кораблях, и все корабельщики, и все торгующие на море стали вдали
18 watching the smoke as she burned, and crying out, 'Has there ever been a city as great as this!'	18 и, видя дым от пожара ее, возопили, говоря: какой город подобен городу великому!
19 They threw dust on their heads and said, with tears and groans: 'Mourn, mourn for this great citywhose lavish living has made a fortune for every owner of a sea-going ship, ruined within a single hour.	19 И посыпали пеплом головы свои, и вопили, плача и рыдая: горе, горе [тебе], город великий, драгоценностями которого обогатились все, имеющие корабли на море, ибо опустел в один час!
20 'Now heaven, celebrate her downfall, and all you saints, apostles and prophets: God has givenjudgement for you against her.'	20 Веселись о сем, небо и святые Апостолы и пророки; ибо совершил Бог суд ваш над ним.
21 Then a powerful angel picked up a boulder like a great mil stone, and as he hurled it into the sea, hesaid, 'That is how the great city of Babylon is going to be hurled down, never to be seen again.	21 И один сильный Ангел взял камень, подобный большому жернову, и поверг в море, говоря: с таким стремлением повержен будет Вавилон, великий город, и уже не будет его.
22 Never again in you will be heard the song of harpists and minstrels, the music of flute and trumpet;never again wil craftsmen of every skill be found in you or the sound of the handmil be heard;	22 И голоса играющих на гуслях, и поющих, и играющих на свирелях, и трубящих трубами в тебе уже не слышно будет; не будет уже в тебе никакого художника, никакого художества, и шума от жерновов не слышно уже будет в тебе;
23 never again wil shine the light of the lamp in you, never again wil be heard in you the voices ofbridegroom and bride. Your traders were the princes of the earth, al the nations were led astray by your sorcery.	23 и свет светильника уже не появится в тебе; и голоса жениха и невесты не будет уже слышно в тебе: ибо купцы твои были вельможи земли, и волшебством твоим введены в заблуждение все народы.
24 In her was found the blood of prophets and saints, and all the blood that was ever shed on earth.'	24 И в нем найдена кровь пророков и святых и всех убитых на земле.
