Deuteronomy 33

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA VOLGARE
1 This is the blessing that Moses, man of God, pronounced over the Israelites before he died.	1 Questa è la benedizione, nella quale bene disse Moisè, uomo di Dio, i figliuoli d'Israel innanzi ch' egli morisse.
2 He said: Yahweh came from Sinai, from Seir he dawned on us, from Mount Paran blazed forth, Forthem he came, after the mustering at Kadesh, from his zenith as far as the foothil s.	2 E disse: Iddio Signore verrà (del monte) di Sinai, e di Seir sì ci apparì; egli apparì del monte di Faran, e con lui migliaia di santi; nella mano sua ritta sì era legge di fuoco.
3 You who love the ancestors! Your holy ones are all at your command. At your feet they fell, under yourguidance went swiftly on.	3 Egli amò tutti i popoli; tutti quanti i santi sono nella mano sua; e quegli che s'approssimano a' suoi piedi, sì piglieranno (del suo ammaestramento e) della sua dottrina.
4 (Moses enjoined a law on us.) The assembly of Jacob comes into its inheritance;	4 Moisè sici (comandò, e diede) la legge, a Iacob la ereditade della moltitudine.
5 there was a king in Jeshurun when the heads of the people foregathered and the tribes of Israel wereal assembled!	5 Egli sarà dinanzi a rettissimo re, insieme raunati i principi del popolo colle schiatte d'Israel.
6 May Reuben survive and not die out, survive though his men be few!	6 Viva Ruben, e non muoia; e sia picciolo di numero (di gente).
7 Of Judah he said this: Listen, Yahweh, to the voice of Judah, and bring him back to his people. Thathis hands may defend his rights, come to his help against his foes!	7 Questa è la benedizione di Giuda: odi, Signore Iddio, la voce di Giuda, e menalo al popolo suo; le sue mani combatteranno per lui, e saranno in aiuto suo contro a' suoi (nemici e) avversarii.
8 Of Levi he said: To Levi, give your urim, to your faithful one, your thummim, having tested him atMassah, having striven with him at the Waters of Meribah.	8 E a Levi si disse: la tua perfezione e la tua dottrina all'uomo santo tuo, il quale provasti nella (sua) tentazione, e all'acque della contraddizione (e della mormorazione) giudicasti.
9 Of his father and mother, he says, 'I have not seen them.' He does not acknowledge his brothers, nordoes he know his own children. Yes, they have kept your word, they hold firmly to your covenant.	9 Il quale (Levi) disse al padre e alla madre sua: non vi conosco (e non so chi voi vi siete), e alli fratelli suoi: io non so chi vi siete; e non sep pono chi si fossono i loro figliuoli. Costoro sì (man darono e) servarono la parola tua, e il tuo patto servarono,
10 They wil teach your customs to Jacob, and your Law to Israel. They wil put incense before you andburnt offerings on your altar.	10 i tuoi giudicii, o Iacob, e la tua legge, o Israel; loro porranno l'incenso nel tuo furore, e lo olocausto (e l'offerta e il sacrificio) sopra il tuo altare.
11 Yahweh, bless his worthiness, and accept the actions he performs. Crush the loins of those who riseagainst him and of his foes, so that they rise no more!	11 Signore, benedici la fortezza sua, e ricevi l'opere delle sue mani. Percuoti (e batti) i dorsi dei suoi nemici; non si levi chi l'hae avuto in odio.
12 Of Benjamin he said: Beloved of Yahweh, he rests trustful y near him. The Most High protects himday after day and dwel s between his hil sides.	12 E disse a Beniamin: l’amoroso di Dio Signore (istà e) abita sicuramente con lui; e quasi tutto di istarà nel suo luogo secreto e delicato, e si riposerà tra le sue spalle.
13 Of Joseph he said: His land is blessed by Yahweh. For him the best of heaven's dew and of the deepthat lies below,	13 E a Iosef sì disse: la terra sua si è della be nedizione di Dio Signore, de' frutti del cielo, e della rugiada e dell' abisso che sta di sotto,
14 the best of what the sun makes grow, of what springs with every month,	14 de' frutti e de' pomi del sole e della luna,
15 the first-fruits of the ancient mountains, the best from the hil s of old	15 e delle cime de monti antiqui, de' pomi dei monti eterni,
16 the best of the land and al it holds, the favour of him who dwells in the Bush. May the hair grow thickon the head of Joseph, on the brow of the consecrated one among his brothers!	16 delle biade della terra, e di ogni cosa che piena venga. La benedizione, venga sopra il capo di Iosef, di colui che apparì nel pruno del fuoco (cioè ch' era acceso, e non si consumava), e sopra il capo (venga) del Nazareo che sarà tra' suoi fratelli.
17 First-born of the Bul , his the glory. His horns are the wild ox's horns, with which he gores thepeoples to the very ends of the earth. Such are the myriads of Ephraim, such are the thousands of Manasseh.	17 La sua bellezza, siccome del toro primoge nito (che in prima nasce); le sue corna come d'uni cornio sono; per queste corna percuoterà tutte le genti, insino ai termini di tutta quanta la terra. Queste sono le moltitudini di Efraim, e queste sono le migliaia di Manasse.
18 Of Zebulun he said: Prosper, Zebulun, in your expeditions, and you, Issachar, in your tents!	18 E disse a Zabulon: nella uscita tua rallie grati; e tu, Issacar, ne' tabernacoli tuoi.
19 On the mountain where the people come to pray they offer upright sacrifices, for they taste the richesof the seas and the treasures hidden in the sands.	19 Costoro chiameranno i popoli a' monti, e qui faranno sacrificii di giustizia; i quali succhieranno (e beranno) il latte, quasi come abbondanze d'onde di mare, e' tesori che sono nascosti nell'arena (del mare).
20 Of Gad he said: Blessed be he who gives Gad space enough! He lies there like a lioness; he hassavaged arm and face and head.	20 E disse a Gad: benedetto in larghezza (e in ampiezza) Gad; siccome leone si riposoe, e sì pigliò il braccio e il capo.
21 Then he took the first portion for himself, saw that there was stored up for him a leader's share. Hehas come at the head of the people, has carried out the saving justice of Yahweh and his judgements on Israel.	21 E vide il suo principato, che nella sua parte era riposto il dottore; si ficcoe colli principi del popolo, e fece la giustizia del Signore, e il suo giudicio con esso Israel.
22 Of Dan he said: Dan is a lion cub leaping from Bashan.	22 E a Dan disse: Dan, come uno catello di leone, sì gli uscirà largamente di Basan.
23 Of Naphtali he said: Naphtali, sated with favours, fil ed with the blessings of Yahweh: the west andsouth are to be his domain.	23 E a Neftali disse: Neftali si avrà frutto di grande abbondanza, e sarà pieno della benedizione di Dio; la mattina e di mezzodì sì possederà (e terrà).
24 Of Asher he said: Most blessed of the sons let Asher be! Let him be the most privileged of hisbrothers and let him bathe his feet in oil!	24 E ad Aser sì disse: benedetto ne' figliuoli di Aser; sia piacente a' suoi fratelli, e sì intinga nell'olio il piede.
25 Be your bolts of iron and of bronze and your security as lasting as your days!	25 È il suo calzamento ferro e metallo; come i dì della tua gioventù, così nella tua vecchiezza.
26 No one is like the God of Jeshurun: he rides the heavens to your rescue, rides the clouds in hismajesty!	26 Non è alcuno altro Iddio, come Iddio salitore direttissimo (e ritto) del cielo; il quale è tuo aiutatore. Per la sua magnificenzia i nuvoli vanno in quà e in là.
27 The God of old is your refuge, his the eternal arm which here below drives the enemy before you; heit is who says, 'Destroy!'	27 Il suo abitacolo (e la sua abitazione) si è di sopra, e di sotto le braccia sempiterne; egli caccerà dinanzi alla tua faccia il tuo nemico, e diragli: (vieni meno; e) cadi a terra.
28 Israel rests trustfully. The well-spring of Jacob is chosen out for a land of corn and wine; thereheaven itself rains down dew.	28 E Israel (solo) abiterà sicuramente e solo. Gli occhii di Iacob diventeranno iscuri nella terra del grano e del vino e nella rugiada del cielo.
29 Blessed are you, O Israel! Who is like you, O victorious people? Yahweh is the shield that protectsyou and the sword that leads you to triumph. Your enemies wil try to corrupt you, but you yourself wil trample ontheir backs.	29 Beato se tu, o Israel; o popolo, chi è simigliante a te, il quale ti salvi in Dio Signore? Lo scudo dello tuo aiuto e coltello della tua gloria; i tuoi nemici sì ti negheranuo, e tu istarai a calcare i loro colli.
