Ezekiel 13

1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows,	1 IL Signore parlommi, e disse:
2 'Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel; prophesy, and say to those who make upprophecies out of their own heads, "Hear what Yahweh says:	2 Figliuolo dell'uomo, profetizza ai profeti d'Israele, i quali fan da profeti, e dirai a costoro, che profetano di lor capriccio: Udite la parola del Signore:
3 The Lord Yahweh says this: Disaster is in store for the foolish prophets who fol ow their own spirit andhave seen nothing!	3 Queste cose dice il Signore Dio: Guai a' profeti stolti, i quali seguono il proprio spirito, e non veggon nulla.
4 Your prophets, Israel, are like ruin-haunting jackals!	4 I tuoi profeti, o Israele, son come volpi ne' deserti.
5 "You have not ventured into the breach; you have not built up the wal round the House of Israel, tohold fast in battle on the Day of Yahweh.	5 Voi non siete usciti a mostrar la faccia, né vi siete posti di contro qual muro per la casa d'Israele, per sostenere la pugna nel dì del Signore.
6 Theirs are futile visions and false predictions, who say: A prophecy from Yahweh, when Yahweh hasnot sent them; yet they expect their words to come true.	6 Vane son le loro visioni, e son bugie i loro indovinamenti, e dicono: Il Signore ha detto, mentre il Signore non gli ha mandati; ed ei continuano ad asseverar quello, che han detto.
7 Have not the visions you see been futile, have not the predictions you make been false, although yousay: A prophecy of Yahweh, when I have not spoken?	7 Non è egli vero, che vane sono le vostre visioni, e bugiardi gl'indovinamenti, che avete spacciati? E voi dite: Il Signore ha detto, quando io non ho parlato.
8 "Very wel , the Lord Yahweh says this: Because of your futile words and false predictions, I am nowagainst you -- declares Lord Yahweh.	8 Per questo il Signore Dio dice così: Perchè voi avete spacciato cose vane, e le vostre visioni son bugiarde, per questo eccomi a voi, dice il Signore Dio.
9 My hand wil be against the prophets who have futile visions and give false predictions; they will not beadmitted to the council of my people, their names wil not be entered in the roll of the House of Israel, they willnot set foot on the soil of Israel; and they wil know that I am the Lord Yahweh.	9 E la mano mia sarà sopra i profeti da visioni vane, e da predizioni bugiarde: non saranno nel ceto del popol mio, e non saranno scritti nella matricola della casa d'Israele, e non entreranno nella terra d'Israele: e conoscerete, ch'io sono il Signore Dio:
10 This is because they have misled my people by saying Peace! when there is no peace. When mypeople were repairing a wal , these men came and plastered it over!	10 Perchè eglino han gabbato il mio popolo, dicendo: Pace, e la pace non è: e quegli fabbricava un muro, e quelli lo intonacavano con loto, senza mistura di paglia.
11 Tel these plasterers: It will rain hard, it wil hail, it wil blow a gale,	11 Dì a costoro, che intonacano senza mistura, che il muro cadrà: imperocché verrà pioggia, che inonderà, e manderò ad urtarlo pietre smisurate, e una bufera, che lo atterrerà.
12 and down wil come the wal ! Will not people ask you: What has become of the plaster you slappedon it?	12 E quando il muro sarà caduto, non si dirà egli a voi: Dov' è l'intonacatura fata da voi?
13 Wel then, the Lord Yahweh says this: I am going to unleash a stormy wind in my fury, torrential rainin my anger, hailstones in my destructive fury,	13 Per questo il Signore Dio così dice: Io nella mia indegnazione farò scappar fuori la bufera, e nel furor mio verrà pioggia, che inonderà, e nell'ira mia grosse pietre, che porteranno rovina.
14 and I shal shatter the wal you plastered and knock it down and lay its foundations bare. It wil faland you wil perish under it; then you wil know that I am Yahweh."	14 E distruggerò il muro intonacato da voi senza mistura, e lo agguaglierò al suolo, e i suoi fondamenti saranno scoperti, e cadrà, e quelli periranno con esso; e conoscerete, ch'io sono il Signore.
15 'When I have sated my anger on the wal and those who plastered it, I shall say to you, "The wal isgone, and so are those who plastered over it,	15 E sfogherò il mio sdegno sopra il muro, e sopra quelli, che lo intonacano senza mistura, e dirò a voi: Il muro non è, e que', che lo intonacavano, più non sono.
16 the prophets of Israel who prophesy about Jerusalem and have visions of peace for her when there isno peace -- declares the Lord Yahweh."	16 Que' profeti d'Israele, che profetizzavano sopra Gerusalemme, e vedevan per lei visione di pace, e pace non è, dice il Signore Dio.
17 'Also, son of man, turn to the women of your people who make up prophecies out of their own heads;prophesy against them.	17 Ma tu, figliuolo dell'uomo, fissa lo sguardo sulle figliuole del popol tuo, le quali di lor capriccio profetano, e profetizza sopra di esse,
18 Say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: Disaster is in store for women who sew ribbons round each wristand make head-cloths for people of al sizes, in their hunt for souls! Are you to hunt the souls of my people andkeep your own souls safe?	18 E dirai: Queste cose dice il Signore Dio: Guai a quelle, che applicano dei cuscini a tutti i cubiti, e fanno de' guanciali da mettere sotto alle teste di qualunque età per far preda delle anime; e facendo preda delle anime del popol mio, davano vita a quelle anime,
19 You dishonour me in front of my people for a few handfuls of barley, a few bits of bread, kil ing thosewho ought not to die and sparing those who ought not to live, lying to my people who love listening to lies.	19 E mi disonoravano dinanzi al mio popolo per un po' d'orzo, e per un tozzo di pane, uccidendo le anime, che non son morte, e facendo vive le anime, che non vivono, spacciando menzogne al popolo mio, che crede alle menzogne.
20 "Very wel , the Lord Yahweh says this: Look, I am now against your ribbons, with which you huntsouls like birds, and I shal tear them off your arms and free those souls whom you hunt like birds.	20 Per questo cosi parla il Signore Dio: Eccomi ai vostri cuscini, co' quali voi fate preda delle anime, come di uccelli, e io gli straccerò nelle vostre mani, e alle anime, delle quali voi fate preda, darò libero volo.
21 I shal tear your head-cloths to pieces and rescue my people from your clutches; no longer wil theybe fair game for you to ensnare. Then you wil know that I am Yahweh.	21 E romperò i vostri guanciali, e libererò dal poter vostro il mio popolo, e non saran più nelle vostre mani per essere vostra preda. E conoscerete, ch'io sono il Signore.
22 "For having intimidated with lies the heart of the upright whom I had done nothing to alarm, and forhaving encouraged the wicked not to give up wicked ways and so be saved,	22 Perchè voi con menzogne avete contristato il cuore del giusto, cui io non contristai; e avete fortificate le braccia all'empio, perchè non si convertisse dal suo mal fare, e vivesse:
23 very well, you wil have no more futile visions and make no more predictions, for I shal rescue mypeople from your clutches, and you will know that I am Yahweh." '	23 Per questo non avrete più le vostre false visioni, né spaccerete indovinamenti, e io trarrò dalle vostre mani il mio popolo: e conoscerete, ch'io sono il Signore.
