Jeremiah 11

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA VOLGARE
1 The word that came to Jeremiah from Yahweh,	1 La parola che è detta a Ieremia dal Signore, dicente:
2 'Hear the terms of this covenant; tel them to the people of Judah and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.	2 Ascolta le parole di questo patto, e parla alli uomini di Giuda e alli abitatori di Ierusalem.
3 Tel them, "Yahweh, God of Israel, says this: Cursed be anyone who will not listen to the terms of thiscovenant	3 E dirai a loro: questo dice il Signore Iddio d' Israel; maledetto quello uomo il quale non ascolterà le parole di questo patto,
4 which I ordained for your ancestors when I brought them out of Egypt, out of that iron-foundry. Listen tomy voice, I told them, carry out al my orders, then you wil be my people and I shal be your God,	4 lo quale pattuii colli vostri padri nel dì ch' io li menai della terra d' Egitto, della fornace del ferro, dicente: udite la mia voce, e fate tutte quelle cose ch' io vi comando, e sarete populo a me, e io sarò a voi Iddio,
5 so that I may fulfil the oath I swore to your ancestors, that I may give them a country flowing with milkand honey, as is the case today." ' I replied, 'So be it, Yahweh!'	5 acciò ch' io risusciti lo giuramento ch' io giurai a' vostri padri, ch' io dovea dare loro la terra che abbondava di latte e di miele, come è in questo dì. E risposi, e dissi: Amen, Signore.
6 Then Yahweh said to me, 'Proclaim al these terms in the towns of Judah and in the streets ofJerusalem, saying, "Listen to the terms of this covenant and obey them.	6 E disse il Signore a me: grida con grande voce queste parole nelle città di Giuda, e dirai fuori di Ierusalem; udite le parole di questo patto, (e fatele) e osservatele.
7 For when I brought your ancestors out of Egypt, I solemnly warned them, and have persistently warnedthem until today, saying: Listen to my voice.	7 Però ch' io certificai li vostri padri dal dì ch' io li menai dalla terra d' Egitto insino a questo dì; la mattina per tempo io mi levai, e dissi: udite la voce mia.
8 But they did not listen, did not pay attention; instead, each followed his own stubborn and wickedinclinations. And against them, in consequence, I put into action the words of this covenant which I had orderedthem to obey and which they had not obeyed." '	8 E non la udirono, e non chinarono le loro orecchie; ma andarono tutti colla pravità dello loro reo cuore; e puosi sopra loro tutte queste parole di questo patto, lo quale io comandai che faces?ono, e non feciono alcuna cosa.
9 Yahweh said to me, 'Plainly there is conspiracy among the people of Judah and the citizens ofJerusalem.	9 E disse Iddio a me: trovata è la scongiurazione nelli uomini di Giuda, e nelli abitatori di Ierusalem.
10 They have reverted to the sins of their ancestors who refused to listen to my words: they too arefol owing other gods and serving them. The House of Israel and the House of Judah have broken my covenantwhich I made with their ancestors.	10 Tornati sono alle iniquitadi pristine de' suoi padri, i quali non volsono udire le mie parole; questi andarono di rietro alli altrui iddii, e servirono a loro; e la casa d' Israel e la casa di Giuda ha fatto tornare addietro lo mio patto, lo quale io pattuii (con loro cioè) colli loro padri.
11 And so, Yahweh says this, "I shal now bring a disaster on them which they cannot escape; they willcal to me for help, but I shal not listen to them.	11 Per la qual cosa questo dice Iddio: ecco io inducerò sopra loro mali, de' quali non potranno uscire; e grideranno, e io non li esaudirò.
12 The towns of Judah and the citizens of Jerusalem wil then go and cal for help to the gods to whomthey burn incense, but these will be no help at al to them in their time of distress!	12 E anderanno le cittadi di Giuda e li abitatori di Ierusalem, e grideranno a coloro a' quali fanno sacrificio, e non salveranno loro nel tempo della loro afflizione.
13 "For you have as many gods as you have towns, Judah! You have built as many altars to Shame, asmany incense altars to Baal, as Jerusalem has streets!	13 E secondo lo numero delle tue città erano i tuoi iddii, o Giuda; e secondo il numero delle tue vie, o Ierusalem, ponesti gli altari della (tua) confusione, altari per sacrificare a Baalim.
14 "You, for your part, must not intercede for this people, nor raise either plea or prayer on their behalf, for I wil not listen when their distress forces them to cal to me for help."	14 Tu dunque non voler pregare per questo populo, e pigliare per loro laude ovver orazione; però che non gli esaudirò nel tempo del loro clamore, [nel tempo della loro afflizione].
15 'What is my beloved doing in my house? She has achieved her wicked plans. Can vows andconsecrated meat turn disaster from you for you to be so happy?	15 Or che è questo, che quello che amava, nella casa mia ha fatto molte fellonie? Or le carni sante non trarranno da te le tue malizie nelle quali tu ti se' gloriata.
16 "Green olive-tree covered in fine fruit", was Yahweh's name for you. With a shattering noise he hasset fire to it, its branches are broken.'	16 Lo Signore tuo Iddio ti chiamò per nome oliva abbondevole, bella e fruttifera e delicata; e alla voce d'uno grande parlare lo fuoco s' accese in lei, e sono arsi tutti i suoi frutti.
17 And Yahweh Sabaoth, who planted you, has decreed disaster for you because of the evil the Houseof Israel and the House of Judah have done, provoking me by burning incense to Baal.	17 E Iddio delli esèrciti, lo quale ti piantò, sì parlò (e disse) sopra te male, per li mali della casa d'Israel e della casa di Giuda, li quali fecero a sè a provocarmi, sacrificando a Baalim.
18 Yahweh informed me and I knew it; you then revealed their scheming to me.	18 Ma tu, Iddio, mi dimostrasti, e io conobbi; tu mi dimostrasti li loro istudii.
19 I for my part was like a trustful lamb being led to the slaughterhouse, not knowing the schemes theywere plotting against me, 'Let us destroy the tree in its strength, let us cut him off from the land of the living, sothat his name may no longer be remembered!'	19 E io stetti quasi come agnello mansueto, lo quale si porta a uccidere per sacrificio; e non conobbi, però che pensarono sopra me consigli, dicendo: mettiamo lo legno nel suo pane, e diradichiamolo della terra de viventi, e del suo nome non sia memoria.
20 Yahweh Sabaoth, whose judgement is upright, tester of motives and thoughts, I shal see yourvengeance on them, for I have revealed my cause to you.	20 E tu, Iddio Sabaot, il quale giudichi giustamente, il quale provi le reni e i cuori, veggia vendetta io di loro; a te io hoe rivelato lo mio piato.
21 Against the people of Anathoth who are determined to kil me and say to me, 'Do not prophesy in thename of Yahweh or you will die at our hands!'	21 Perciò dice questo Iddio alli uomini di Anatot, i quali addomandano l'anima tua, e dicono: non profeterai nel nome di Dio, e non morrai nelle mani nostre.
22 Yahweh says this, 'I am about to punish them. Their young people will die by the sword, their sonsand daughters by famine.	22 Perciò questo dice Iddio Signore delli esèrciti: ecco io visiterò sopra loro; li loro giovani morranno di coltello; e li loro figliuoli e figliuole sì morranno di fame.
23 Not one wil be left when I bring disaster on the people of Anathoth, when the year for punishing themcomes.'	23 E non rimarrà niente di loro; io inducerò (e porrò) male sopra alli uomini di Anatot, l'anno della loro visitazione.
