Isaiah 57

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA RICCIOTTI
1 The upright person perishes and no one cares. The faithful is taken off and no one takes it to heart.Yes, because of the evil times the upright is taken off;	1 - Il giusto perisce e non è alcuno che vi ponga mente; e gli uomini pii sono raccolti [dal mondo] senza che alcuno comprenda come innanzi che s'affacci il male è raccolto il giusto.
2 he wil enter peace, and those who fol ow the right way wil find rest on their beds.	2 Che la pace giunga, vada agli eterni riposi chiunque ha camminato nella rettitudine.
3 But you, you children of a witch, come here, adulterous race prostituting yourselves!	3 Ma voi appressatevi qua, figli della megera, razza adulterina e imbastardita!
4 At whom are you jeering, at whom are you making faces and sticking out your tongue? Are you not thespawn of rebel ion, a lying race?	4 Di chi vi siete voi presi giuoco? contro di chi avete spalancata la bocca e messa fuori la lingua? non siete voi figli scellerati, razza degenerata?
5 Lusting among the terebinths, and under every spreading tree, sacrificing children in the ravines, belowthe clefts in the rocks.	5 Voi che trovate la vostra consolazione negli idoli, sotto ogni albero frondoso, immolando nei torrenti i bambini sotto il cavo di rupi prominenti.
6 The smooth stones of the ravines wil be your portion, yes, these wil be your lot. To these you havepoured libations, have brought your cereal offering. Can al this appease me?	6 Nelle pietre che fan parte d'un torrente hai scelto la tua parte: questa è la tua sorte! Ad esse hai profuso libazioni, hai offerto sacrifizi! Non mi muoverò io a sdegno per cose tali?
7 On a mountain high and lofty you have put your bed. Thither, too, you have climbed to offer sacrifice.	7 Sopra un monte alto ed elevato collocasti il tuo giaciglio e salisti lassù per immolare delle vittime.
8 Behind door and doorpost you have set your reminder. Yes, far from me, you exposed yourself,climbed on to your bed, and made the most of it. You struck a profitable bargain with those whose bed you love,whoring with them often, with your eyes on the sacred symbol.	8 Dietro la porta e dietro le imposte hai collocato il ricordo dei tuoi idoli; sì, a fianco di me ti sei discoperta e hai accolto un adultero; hai fatto letto assieme e avuto relazioni con loro; hai amato di giacere con loro dovunque l'occasione ti fu sotto mano!
9 You went to Molech with oil, you were prodigal with your perfumes; you sent your envoys far afield,down to Sheol itself.	9 Ti sei imbellettata di pomate cortigianesche e hai moltiplicati i cosmetici; hai mandato i tuoi ambasciatori fin lontano, fin sotto terra ti sei abbassata!
10 Though tired by so much travel ing, you never said, 'It is no use.' Finding your strength revive, younever gave up.	10 Affaticata nella moltitudine dei tuoi passi non hai detto: «Voglio star quieta!». Hai ritrovato ancora della vita nelle tue mani, per cui non hai implorato aiuto.
11 Who was it you dreaded, and feared, that you should betray me, no longer remember me and notspare a thought for me? Was I not silent for a long time? So you cannot have been afraid of me.	11 E di chi hai avuto tanta affannosa paura, da rinnegarmi e non ricordarti più di me, nè prenderti pensiero? Perchè io taceva come se non vedessi, tu ti sei scordata di me.
12 Now I shall expose this uprightness of yours, and little good it did you.	12 Ben io annunzierò la tua giustizia, e le tue opere non ti gioveranno.
13 When you cry for help, let those thronging round you save you! The wind wil carry them al away, onepuff wil take them off. But whoever trusts in me wil inherit the country, he wil own my holy mountain.	13 Quando tu griderai, ti salvino coloro che hai radunati attorno a te; ma tutti se li porterà il vento, un soffio li travolgerà. Chi invece avrà fiducia in me possederà la terra, possederà il mio santo monte.
14 Then it wil be said: Level up, level up, clear the way, remove the obstacle from my people's way,	14 Ed io dirò: «Fate strada, aprite la via, sgombrate il cammino; togliete dalla via del mio popolo ogni inciampo.
15 for thus says the High and Exalted One who lives eternal y and whose name is holy, 'I live in the holyheights but I am with the contrite and humble, to revive the spirit of the humble, to revive the heart of the contrite.	15 Perchè dice così l'eccelso e l'Altissimo che abita l'eternità, e Santo è il nome suo; che risiede nel cielo eccelso e nel santuario, e collo spirito contrito ed umile, per vivificare lo spirito degli umili, per vivificare i cuori contriti.
16 'For I do not want to be forever accusing nor always to be angry, or the spirit would fail under myonslaught, the souls that I myself have made.	16 Io non starò eternamente a contendere: io non starò continuamente corrucciato, perchè dalla mia faccia lo spirito uscirà e i soffi di vita sarò io che rifarò.
17 'Angered by his wicked cupidity, I hid and struck him in anger, but he rebelliously went the way of hischoice.	17 Per l'iniqua sua avarizia io mi adirai e l'ho percosso; ho nascosto da te la mia faccia e mi sono sdegnato: ed egli se ne andò vagando nella via del suo cuore.
18 'I saw how he behaved, but I shal heal him, I shal lead him, fil him with consolation, him and thosewho mourn for him,	18 Ho visto i suoi andamenti e ho voluto metterci rimedio, e lo ricondussi; e lo ripagherò in consolazioni, lui e i suoi afflitti.
19 bringing praise to their lips. Peace, peace to far and near, Yahweh says, and I shall heal him.'	19 Ho creato il frutto delle labbra, la pace! Pace a chi è lontano e a chi è vicino, ha detto il Signore, e io l'ho risanato».
20 The wicked, however, are like the restless sea that cannot be stil , whose waters throw up mud anddirt.	20 Ma gli empi saranno come un mare sconvolto che non può trovare la calma, i flutti del quale rigettano melma e fango.
21 'No peace', says Yahweh, 'for the wicked.'	21 Non v'è pace per gli empi, dice il Signore Dio.
