Isaiah 13

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA VOLGARE
1 Proclamation about Babylon, seen by Isaiah son of Amoz.	1 Lo carico di Babilonia, lo quale vide Isaia figliuolo di Amos.
2 On a bare hill hoist a signal, shout for them, beckon them to come to the Nobles' Gate.	2 Levate lo segno in sul monte pieno di oscuritade, esaltate la voce e alzate la mano, e li duchi entrino dentro alle porte.
3 I have issued orders to my sacred warriors, I have summoned my heroes to serve my anger, my proudchampions.	3 Io hoe comandato alli (amici) miei santificati, e chiamai li miei forti nell' ira mia, rallegrantisi nella mia gloria.
4 The noise of a great crowd in the mountains, like an immense people, the tumultuous sound ofkingdoms, of nations mustering: it is Yahweh Sabaoth marshal ing the troops for battle.	4 La voce della moltitudine ne' monti, quasi come di molti popoli; voci di re, di genti radunate; lo Signore delli eserciti comandò alla milizia della battaglia,
5 They come from a distant country, from the far horizons, Yahweh and the instruments of his fury to laythe whole country waste.	5 e a quelli che venivano della terra dalla lunga, lo Signore dell' altezza del cielo, e li vasi del suo furore per disperdere tutta la terra.
6 Howl! For the Day of Yahweh is near, coming like devastation from Shaddai.	6 Urlate, però che il dì del Signore è presso; però che lo guasto verrà da Dio.
7 This is why al hands fal limp, why al the men are losing heart;	7 E però tutte le mani saranno dissolute, e ogni cuore di uomo avvilirà,
8 they are panic-stricken, seized with pains and convulsions; they writhe like a woman in labour, theylook at one another appal ed, with feverish faces.	8 e sarà spezzato. Elli averanno dolori e tormenti, e addolorarannosi quasi come partorissono; ciascuno si maraviglierà intra lo suo prossimo, e le loro faccie saranno arse.
9 Look, the Day of Yahweh is coming, merciless, with wrath and burning anger, to reduce the country toa desert and root out the sinners from it.	9 Ecco lo die di Dio verrà, crudele e pieno di indignazione e d'ira e di furore; però che viene a porre la terra in isbandeggiamento, e a rompere li suoi peccatori della terra.
10 For in the sky the stars and Orion wil shed their light no longer, the sun wil be dark when it rises, andthe moon will no longer give its light.	10 Però che le stelle del cielo e lo loro splendore non daranno più lo loro lume; lo sole si è oscurato nel suo levamento, e la luna non risplenderà nel suo lume.
11 I am going to punish the world for its wickedness and the wicked for their guilt, and put an end to thepride of the arrogant and humble the haughtiness of despots.	11 E visiterò sopra li mali del mondo, e contra li malvagi la malvagità; e farò stare cheta la superbia delli infedeli, e umilierò l'arroganza de' forti.
12 I shal make people scarcer than pure gold, human life scarcer than the gold of Ophir.	12 L'uomo sarà più prezioso che l'oro, e più che non è lo perfetto oro risplendente.
13 This is why I am going to shake the heavens, why the earth wil reel on its foundations, under thewrath of Yahweh Sabaoth, the day when his anger ignites.	13 E turberò sopra questo lo cielo; e la terra si moverà del suo luogo, pella indignazione del Signore delli eserciti, e per lo die dell' ira del suo furore.
14 Then like a hunted gazel e, like sheep that nobody gathers in, everyone will head back to his people,everyone wil flee to his native land.	14 E sarà come la camozza (cioè una bestia) fuggente, e come la pecora; che non sarà chi la raduni; e ciascuno si rifuggirà al popolo suo, e ciascuno alla terra sua.
15 Al those who are found wil be stabbed, al those captured wil fal by the sword,	15 Qualunque sarà trovato, sarà morto; e chiunque sarà sopra venuto, caderà nella bocca del coltello.
16 their babies dashed to pieces before their eyes, their houses plundered, their wives raped.	16 Li loro fanciulli piccoli saranno percossi a terra inanzi alli loro occhi; e le loro case saranno rubate, e le loro mogli saranno sforzate.
17 Look, against them I am stirring up the Medes who care nothing for silver, who set no value by gold.	17 Ecco io resusciterò sopra voi quelli di Media, i quali non addimandono nè vogliono nè argento nè oro;
18 Bows wil annihilate the young men, they wil have no pity for the fruit of the womb, or mercy in theireyes for children.	18 ma uccideranno li piccolini colle saette, e non averanno misericordia di quelli che popperanno, e lo loro occhio non perdonerà sopra li figliuoli.
19 And Babylon, that pearl of kingdoms, that splendid jewel of the Chaldaeans, wil , like Sodom andGomorrah, be overthrown by God.	19 E quella Babilonia (cittade) gloriosa nelli reami, e nobile nella superbia de' Caldei, sarà rivolta, come Iddio rivolse Sodoma e Gomorra.
20 Never again will anyone live there or reside there for al generations to come. Never again wil theArab pitch his tent there, or the shepherds bring their flocks to rest.	20 Non sarà abitata infino alla fine, e non sarà fondata infino a parecchie generazioni; nè Arabi (cioè quelli di quella terra) vi porranno tende, nè li pastori vi si poseranno.
21 But beasts of the desert wil make their haunt there and owls fill their houses, there ostriches wil settletheir home, there goats will dance.	21 ... e le loro case saranno piene di dragoni; e ivi abiteranno li struzzi, e li pilosi salteranno ivi.
22 Hyenas wil howl in its towers, jackals in its delightful palaces, for its doom is about to come and itsdays wil not last long.	22 E ivi risponderanno con urli nelle sue case, e le sirene staranno nelli luoghi carnali.
