1 Silver has its mines, and gold a place for refining.	1 Hay, sí, para la plata un venero, para el oro un lugar donde se purifica.
2 Iron is extracted from the earth, the smelted rocks yield copper.	2 Se extrae del suelo el hierro, una piedra fundida se hace cobre.
3 Man makes an end of darkness, to the utmost limit he digs the black rock in shadow dark as death.	3 Se pone fin a las tinieblas, hasta el último límite se excava la piedra oscura y lóbrega.
4 Foreigners bore into ravines in unfrequented places, swinging suspended far from human beings.	4 Extranjeros abren galerías de todo pie olvidadas, y oscilan, se balancean, lejos de los humanos.
5 That earth from which bread comes is ravaged underground by fire.	5 Tierra de donde sale el pan, que está revuelta, abajo, por el fuego.
6 There, the rocks have veins of sapphire and their dust contains gold.	6 Lugar donde las piedras son zafiro y contienen granos de oro.

12 But where does Wisdom come from? Where is Intel igence to be found?	12 Mas la Sabiduría, ¿de dónde viene? ¿cuál es la sede de la Inteligencia?
13 No human being knows the way to her, she is not to be found on earth where they live.	13 Ignora el hombre su sendero, no se le encuentra en la tierra de los vivos.
14 'She is not in me,' says the Abyss; 'Nor here,' replies the Sea.	14 Dice el Abismo: «No está en mí», y el Mar: «No está conmigo.»
15 She cannot be bought with solid gold, nor paid for with any weight of silver,	15 No se puede dar por ella oro fino, ni comprarla a precio de plata,

17 Neither gold nor glass compares with her, for her, a vase of fine gold would be no exchange,	17 No la igualan el oro ni el vidrio, ni se puede cambiar por vaso de oro puro.
18 let alone coral or crystal: better go fishing for Wisdom than for pearls!	18 Corales y cristal ni mencionarlos, mejor es pescar Sabiduría que perlas.
19 Topaz from Cush is worthless in comparison, and gold, even refined, is valueless.	19 No la iguala el topacio de Kus, ni con oro puro puede evaluarse.
20 But where does Wisdom come from? Where is Intel igence to be found?	20 Mas la Sabiduría, ¿de dónde viene? ¿cuál es la sede de la Inteligencia?
