NEW JERUSALEM	Біблія
1 Then Jehoshaphat fel asleep with his ancestors and was buried with them in the city of David; his sonJehoram succeeded him.	1 Йосафат спочив зо своїми батьками, й поховали його разом з його батьками в Давидгороді. Його син Йорам став царем замість нього.
2 Jehoram's brothers, sons of Jehoshaphat, were Azariah, Jehiel, Zechariah, Azariahu, Michael andShephatiah -- al of them sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel.	2 Були в нього брати, сини Йосафата: Азарія, Єхієл, Захарія, Азаріягу, Михаїл і Шафатія. Всі вони були сини Йосафата, царя Ізраїля.
3 Their father had lavishly given them presents of silver, gold and other valuables as wel as fortifiedtowns in Judah; but the throne he bequeathed to Jehoram since he was the first-born.	3 Батько їхній дав їм багато дарів сріблом і золотом та дорогоцінними речами, разом з укріпленими містами в Юдеї; а царство дав Йорамові, бо він був перворідний.
4 Jehoram, having taken control of his father's kingdom and secured his own position, put al hisbrothers to the sword and some officials of Israel too.	4 Йорам вступив на царство свого батька, а коли вбився в силу, вибив мечем усіх своїх братів та ще й деяких з ізраїльських князів.
5 Jehoram was thirty-two years old when he came to the throne, and he reigned for eight years inJerusalem.	5 Було Йорамові 32 роки, як він став царем, і царював він 8 років у Єрусалимі.
6 He followed the example of the kings of Israel as the House of Ahab were doing, he having marriedone of Ahab's daughters; and he did what is displeasing to Yahweh.	6 Він ходив дорогою ізраїльських царів, як робив дім Ахава, бо дочка Ахава була його жінкою, і чинив зло в очах Господніх.
7 But Yahweh would not destroy the House of David, because of the covenant which he had made withDavid, promising to provide him and his sons with a lamp for ever.	7 Але Господь не хотів вигубити дому Давида — заради союзу, що заключив був з Давидом, і через те, що обіцяв дати світич йому та його синам по всі часи.
8 In his time Edom threw off the domination of Judah and set up a king for itself.	8 За його часів відпав Едом від Юди й настановив собі царя.
9 Jehoram crossed the frontier, and with him his commanders and al his chariots. Under cover of dark,he and his chariot commanders broke through the Edomites surrounding him.	9 Тоді Йорам із своїми начальниками й усіма колісницями двигнувся у похід; устав він уночі й побив едоміїв, що були обступили його, і начальників колісниць.
10 Thus Edom threw off the domination of Judah and has remained free to the present day. Libnahrevolted against him at the same time, because he had abandoned Yahweh, God of his ancestors.	10 Одначе, Едом відпав таки від Юди аж по цей день. Того ж самого часу відпала й Лівна від нього, бо він покинув Господа, Бога батьків своїх
11 What is more, he set up high places in the highlands of Judah, leading the citizens of Jerusalem andthe people of Judah into apostasy.	11 Він також спорудив узвишшя на горах юдейських, завів розпусту між мешканцями Єрусалиму й попсував Юдею.
12 Something written by the prophet Elijah then came into his hands. It said, 'Yahweh, God of yourancestor David, says this, "Since you have not fol owed the example of your father Jehoshaphat or of Asa kingof Judah,	12 І надійшло до нього письмо пророка Іллі, а в ньому було сказано: «Так говорить Господь, Бог Давида, батька твого: За те, що не ходив єси дорогами Йосафата, батька твого, й дорогами Аси, юдейського царя,
13 but have fol owed the example of the kings of Israel and have led Judah and the citizens ofJerusalem into apostasy, just as the House of Ahab has led Israel into apostasy, and have even murdered yourbrothers, your own family, who were better men than you,	13 а ходив дорогою ізраїльських царів і завів розпусту в Юдеї та серед мешканців Єрусалиму, як завів розпусту дім Ахава, та ще й до того повбивав єси братів твоїх, — дім батька твого, — що були ліпші від тебе,
14 Yahweh is going to afflict your people, your sons, your wives and al your property with a greatcalamity,	14 Господь поб’є великою пошестю народ твій, синів твоїх, жінок твоїх і все майно твоє;
15 and you yourself with a severe disease affecting your bowels, as a result of which disease,continuing day after day, you wil suffer protrusion of your bowels." '	15 та й сам ти захворієш на тяжку недугу, недугу нутра, аж виходитиме твоя утроба в болях, з дня на день.»
16 Yahweh then roused the hostility of the Philistines and of the Arabs living near the Cushites againstJehoram.	16 Тоді Господь збудив проти Йорама дух філістимлян та арабів, суміжних із кушіями,
17 They invaded Judah, forcing their way into it and carrying off all the property to be found in the king'spalace, as wel as his sons and his wives, so that he was left no sons at al except his youngest son Jehoahaz.	17 і вони рушили на Юдею, й напали на неї та забрали геть усе добро, яке було в царському домі, а також і синів його та жінок його, й не зосталось у нього сина, крім Йоахаза, найменшого з його синів.
18 And after al this, Yahweh afflicted him with an incurable disease of the bowels;	18 А до того усього наслав Господь на його нутро невигойну хворобу,
19 in due time, after about two years, his bowels protruded as a result of his disease and he died inacute pain. His people did not make a funeral pyre for him, as they had for his ancestors.	19 так що по довгому часі, коли настав кінець, його нутрощі з-за недуги вилазили два дні, й він умер у великих муках. Його народ не запалив на його честь вогнища, як то палив на честь його батьків.
20 He was thirty-two years old when he came to the throne and he reigned for eight years in Jerusalem.He passed away unlamented and was buried in the City of David, though not in the tombs of the kings.
