1 About then Hezekiah fel il and was at the point of death. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz came andsaid to him, 'Yahweh says this, "Put your affairs in order, for you are going to die, you wil not live." '	1 In quello tempo Ezechia infermò a morte; e venne a lui Isaia figliuolo d' Amos, profeta, e disse a lui: questo dice il Signore: disponi la tua casa, però che tu non camperai, anzi morrai.
2 Hezekiah turned his face to the wal and addressed this prayer to Yahweh,	2 Il quale voltò il viso suo al muro, e orò, dicendo:
3 'Ah, Yahweh, remember, I beg you, that I have behaved faithful y and with sincerity of heart in yourpresence and done what you regard as right.' And Hezekiah shed many tears.	3 O Signore, io ti priego che ti ricordi come io son andato nel tuo cospetto in verità e in perfetto cuore, e ch' io ho fatto quello che t' è piaciuto. E pianse Ezechia di grande (e amaro) pianto.
4 Isaiah had not left the middle court, before the word of Yahweh came to him,	4 E prima che Isaia uscisse del mezzo del palagio, fu fatta a lui la parola di Dio, dicendo:
5 'Go back and say to Hezekiah, prince of my people, "Yahweh, the God of your ancestor David, saysthis: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears. I shal cure you: in three days' time you will go up to theTemple of Yahweh.	5 Ritorna ad Ezechia, duca del mio popolo, dicendo: questo dice il Signore Iddio di David tuo padre: io udii la tua orazione, e viddi le tue lacrime; ecco ch' io t' ho fatto sano; il terzo dì andrai al tempio di Dio.
6 I shal add fifteen years to your life. I shal save you and this city from the king of Assyria's clutches anddefend this city for my sake and my servant David's sake." '	6 E aggiugnerò ai dì tuoi XV anni; e anche delle mani del re degli Assirii ti libererò, e difenderò questa città per me, e per David servo mio.
7 'Bring a fig poultice,' Isaiah said; they brought one, applied it to the ulcer, and the king recovered.	7 E disse Isaia: recatemi una massa di fichi. E fu apportata, e posta sopra la sua piaga; e (incontanente) fu curato.
8 Hezekiah said to Isaiah, 'What is the sign to tel me that Yahweh wil cure me and that I shal be goingup to the Temple of Yahweh in three days' time?'	8 E avea detto Ezechia ad Isaia: che segnale sarà, acciò che Iddio mi faccia sano, e che il terzo dì io debbo ascendere nel tempio di Dio?
9 'Here', Isaiah replied, 'is the sign from Yahweh that he wil do what he has said; would you like theshadow to go forward ten steps, or to go back ten steps?'	9 Al quale disse Isaia: questo sarà segnale, che Iddio farà quello che esso ha detto: vuoi tu che l'ombra monti dieci linee, o vuogli che ritorni altrettanti gradi?
10 'It is easy for the shadow to lengthen ten steps,' Hezekiah replied. 'No, I would rather the shadowwent back ten steps.'	10 E disse Ezechia: leggiera cosa è che l'ombra cresca X gradi; e questo non voglia che si faccia, ma voglio che ritorni arietro dieci gradi.
11 The prophet Isaiah then cal ed on Yahweh, who made the shadow cast by the declining sun on thesteps -- the steps to Ahaz's roof-room -- go back ten steps.	11 E invocò Isaia profeta il Signore, e ridusse l'ombra per la linea, per la quale già era discesa negli oriuoli di Acaz, X gradi.
12 At that time the king of Babylon, Merodach-Baladan son of Baladan, sent letters and a gift toHezekiah, for he had heard of his il ness and his recovery.	12 In quello tempo mandò Berodac Baladan, figliuolo di Baladan, re di Babilonia, lettere e presenti ad Ezechia; però ch' avea inteso che Ezechia era infermo (ed era migliorato).
13 Hezekiah was delighted at this and showed the ambassadors his entire treasury, the silver, gold,spices, precious oil, his armoury too, and everything to be seen in his storehouses. There was nothing in hispalace or in his whole domain that Hezekiah did not show them.	13 E allegrossi Ezechia nella venuta loro, e mostrogli la casa delle spezie, l' oro, l' ariento e varii confetti, e anche unguenti, e la casa de' suoi vasellamenti, e tutto quello che possea avere ne' suoi tesori; e non fu nulla che Ezechia non mostrasse loro in tutta la sua casa, e in tutta la sua potenza.
14 The prophet Isaiah then came to King Hezekiah and asked him, 'What have these men said, andwhere have they come from?' Hezekiah answered, 'They have come from a distant country, from Babylon.'	14 E venne Isaia profeta ad Ezechia re, e dissegli che hanno detto questi uomini, e onde sono venuti a te? Al quale disse Ezechia: di longinqua terra sono venuti a me, cioè di Babilonia.
15 Isaiah said, 'What have they seen in your palace?' 'They have seen everything in my palace,'Hezekiah answered. 'There is nothing in my storehouses that I have not shown them.'	15 E quegli respuose: che hanno veduto in casa tua? Ed Ezechia disse: tutte le cose che sono in casa mia; non è nulla in tutti i miei tesori, ch' io non abbia mostrato loro.
16 Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, 'Listen to the word of Yahweh,	16 E Isaia disse così ad Ezechia: intendi la parola di Dio.
17 "The days are coming when everything in your palace, everything that your ancestors have amasseduntil now, wil be carried off to Babylon. Not a thing wil be left," Yahweh says.	17 Ecco verranno i dì, e saranno tolte tutte le cose le quali sono in casa tua, e le quali congregarono li padri tuoi insino a questo dì, e saranno portate in Babilonia; non ci rimarrà nulla, dice il Signore.
18 "Sons sprung from you, sons fathered by you, wil be abducted to be eunuchs in the palace of theking of Babylon." '	18 Ed anche de' tuoi figliuoli i quali nasceranno di te, e i quali tu genererai, saranno tolti, e saranno eunuchi nel palagio del re di Babilonia.
19 Hezekiah said to Isaiah, 'This word of Yahweh that you announce is reassuring,' for he was thinking,'And why not? So long as there is peace and security during my lifetime.'	19 Ezechia disse ad Isaia: la parola che ha detta il Signore è buona; sia la pace e la verità (almeno) nel tempo mio.
20 The rest of the history of Hezekiah, al his prowess, how he constructed the pool and the conduit tobring water into the city, is this not recorded in the Book of the Annals of the Kings of Judah?	20 Tutte le altre cose di Ezechia, e tutta la sua fortezza, e come egli fece la piscina e il condotto dell' acqua nella città, non sono loro scritte nel libro de' fatti del tempo de' re di Giuda?
21 Then Hezekiah fel asleep with his ancestors; his son Manasseh succeeded him.	21 E dormi Ezechia colli padri suoi; e regnò il suo figliuolo Manasse per lui.
