1 Thus heaven and earth were completed with al their array.	1 Так совершены небо и земля и все воинство их.
2 On the seventh day God had completed the work he had been doing. He rested on the seventh dayafter al the work he had been doing.	2 И совершил Бог к седьмому дню дела Свои, которые Он делал, и почил в день седьмый от всех дел Своих, которые делал.
3 God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on that day he rested after al his work ofcreating.	3 И благословил Бог седьмой день, и освятил его, ибо в оный почил от всех дел Своих, которые Бог творил и созидал.
4 Such was the story of heaven and earth as they were created. At the time when Yahweh God madeearth and heaven	4 Вот происхождение неба и земли, при сотворении их, в то время, когда Господь Бог создал землю и небо,
5 there was as yet no wild bush on the earth nor had any wild plant yet sprung up, for Yahweh God hadnot sent rain on the earth, nor was there any man to til the soil.	5 и всякий полевой кустарник, которого еще не было на земле, и всякую полевую траву, которая еще не росла, ибо Господь Бог не посылал дождя на землю, и не было человека для возделывания земли,
6 Instead, water flowed out of the ground and watered al the surface of the soil.	6 но пар поднимался с земли и орошал все лице земли.
7 Yahweh God shaped man from the soil of the ground and blew the breath of life into his nostrils, andman became a living being.	7 И создал Господь Бог человека из праха земного, и вдунул в лице его дыхание жизни, и стал человек душею живою.
8 Yahweh God planted a garden in Eden, which is in the east, and there he put the man he hadfashioned.	8 И насадил Господь Бог рай в Едеме на востоке, и поместил там человека, которого создал.
9 From the soil, Yahweh God caused to grow every kind of tree, enticing to look at and good to eat, withthe tree of life in the middle of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.	9 И произрастил Господь Бог из земли всякое дерево, приятное на вид и хорошее для пищи, и дерево жизни посреди рая, и дерево познания добра и зла.
10 A river flowed from Eden to water the garden, and from there it divided to make four streams.	10 Из Едема выходила река для орошения рая; и потом разделялась на четыре реки.
11 The first is named the Pishon, and this winds al through the land of Havilah where there is gold.	11 Имя одной Фисон: она обтекает всю землю Хавила, ту, где золото;
12 The gold of this country is pure; bdel ium and cornelian stone are found there.	12 и золото той земли хорошее; там бдолах и камень оникс.
13 The second river is named the Gihon, and this winds all through the land of Cush.	13 Имя второй реки Гихон: она обтекает всю землю Куш.
14 The third river is named the Tigris, and this flows to the east of Ashur. The fourth river is theEuphrates.	14 Имя третьей реки Хиддекель: она протекает пред Ассириею. Четвертая река Евфрат.
15 Yahweh God took the man and settled him in the garden of Eden to cultivate and take care of it.	15 И взял Господь Бог человека, и поселил его в саду Едемском, чтобы возделывать его и хранить его.
16 Then Yahweh God gave the man this command, 'You are free to eat of al the trees in the garden.	16 И заповедал Господь Бог человеку, говоря: от всякого дерева в саду ты будешь есть,
17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you are not to eat; for, the day you eat of that, youare doomed to die.'	17 а от дерева познания добра и зла не ешь от него, ибо в день, в который ты вкусишь от него, смертью умрешь.
18 Yahweh God said, 'It is not right that the man should be alone. I shal make him a helper.'	18 И сказал Господь Бог: не хорошо быть человеку одному; сотворим ему помощника, соответственного ему.
19 So from the soil Yahweh God fashioned al the wild animals and al the birds of heaven. These hebrought to the man to see what he would call them; each one was to bear the name the man would give it.	19 Господь Бог образовал из земли всех животных полевых и всех птиц небесных, и привел к человеку, чтобы видеть, как он назовет их, и чтобы, как наречет человек всякую душу живую, так и было имя ей.
20 The man gave names to al the cattle, al the birds of heaven and all the wild animals. But no helpersuitable for the man was found for him.	20 И нарек человек имена всем скотам и птицам небесным и всем зверям полевым; но для человека не нашлось помощника, подобного ему.
21 Then, Yahweh God made the man fal into a deep sleep. And, while he was asleep, he took one of hisribs and closed the flesh up again forthwith.	21 И навел Господь Бог на человека крепкий сон; и, когда он уснул, взял одно из ребр его, и закрыл то место плотию.
22 Yahweh God fashioned the rib he had taken from the man into a woman, and brought her to the man.	22 И создал Господь Бог из ребра, взятого у человека, жену, и привел ее к человеку.
23 And the man said: This one at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh! She is to be cal edWoman, because she was taken from Man.	23 И сказал человек: вот, это кость от костей моих и плоть от плоти моей; она будет называться женою, ибо взята от мужа.
24 This is why a man leaves his father and mother and becomes attached to his wife, and they becomeone flesh.	24 Потому оставит человек отца своего и мать свою и прилепится к жене своей; и будут одна плоть.
25 Now, both of them were naked, the man and his wife, but they felt no shame before each other.	25 И были оба наги, Адам и жена его, и не стыдились.
