NEW AMERICAN BIBLEBIBLES DES PEUPLES
I raised my eyes and looked; there were four horns.1 J’ai regardé, et voici ce que j’ai vu: il y avait quatre cornes.
Then I asked the angel who spoke with me what these were. He answered me, "These are the horns that scattered Judah and Israeland Jerusalem."2 Je dis à l’ange qui me parlait: “Que sont ces cornes?”
Then the LORD showed me four blacksmiths. And I asked, "What are these coming to do?"3 Puis Yahvé me fit voir quatre forgerons.
And he said, "Here are the horns that scattered Judah, so that no man raised his head any more; but these have come to terrify them: to cast down the horns of the nations that raised their horns to scatter the land of Judah."4 Je dis: “Que viennent faire ceux-ci?”
Again I raised my eyes and looked: there was a man with a measuring line in his hand.5 De nouveau j’ai regardé, et voici ce que j’ai vu: un homme était là avec un cordeau pour mesurer.
"Where are you going?" I asked. "To measure Jerusalem," he answered; "to see how great is its width and how great its length."6 Je lui dis: “Où vas-tu?”
Then the angel who spoke with me advanced, and another angel came out to meet him,7 Alors l’ange qui me parlait s’avança et un autre ange se présenta devant lui.
and said to him, "Run, tell this to that young man: People will live in Jerusalem as though in open country, because of the multitude of men and beasts in her midst.8 Il lui dit: “Cours, parle à ce jeune homme et dis-lui: Jérusalem restera ouverte, vu le grand nombre d’hommes et d’animaux qui s’y trouveront.
But I will be for her an encircling wall of fire, says the LORD, and I will be the glory in her midst."9 Mais Yahvé l’assure: Tout autour d’elle je serai un rempart de feu; au milieu d’elle je serai sa gloire.”
Up, up! Flee from the land of the north, says the LORD; for I scatter you to the four winds of heaven, says the LORD.10 Holà!
Up, escape to Zion! you who dwell in daughter Babylon.11 Holà! Sauve-toi Sion, toi qui demeures à Babylone,
For thus said the LORD of hosts (after he had already sent me) concerning the nations that have plundered you: Whoever touches you touches the apple of my eye.12 car voici ce qu’a dit Yahvé Sabaot, lui qui m’a déjà fait parler contre les nations qui vous pillent: Celui qui vous touche, touche à la pupille de mon œil!
See, I wave my hand over them; they become plunder for their slaves. Thus you shall know that the LORD of hosts has sent me.13 Je vais lever ma main contre ces nations pour qu’elles soient pillées par leurs esclaves.”
Sing and rejoice, O daughter Zion! See, I am coming to dwell among you, says the LORD.14 Chante ta joie, fille de Sion, car voici que je viens. Ma demeure sera chez toi, dit Yahvé.
Many nations shall join themselves to the LORD on that day, and they shall be his people, and he will dwell among you, and you shall know that the LORD of hosts has sent me to you.15 Bien des nations, ce jour-là, s’attacheront à Yahvé pour être son peuple, mais c’est chez toi qu’il aura sa demeure.
The LORD will possess Judah as his portion of the holy land, and he will again choose Jerusalem.16 Juda sera toujours la part de Yahvé sur sa Terre Sainte; Jérusalem sera encore sa préférée.
Silence, all mankind, in the presence of the LORD! for he stirs forth from his holy dwelling.17 Que tout mortel fasse silence devant Yahvé: voici qu’il s’éveille en sa sainte Demeure.
