Leviticus 1

1 The LORD called Moses, and from the meeting tent gave him this message:	1 Il Signore chiamò Mosè, gli parlò dalla tenda del convegno e disse:
2 "Speak to the Israelites and tell them: When any one of you wishes to bring an animal offering to the LORD, such an offering must be from the herd or from the flock.	2 «Parla agli Israeliti dicendo: “Quando uno di voi vorrà presentare come offerta in onore del Signore un animale scelto fra il bestiame domestico, offrirete un capo di bestiame grosso o minuto.
3 "If his holocaust offering is from the herd, it must be a male without blemish. To find favor with the LORD, he shall bring it to the entrance of the meeting tent	3 Se la sua offerta è un olocausto di bestiame grosso, egli offrirà un maschio senza difetto; l’offrirà all’ingresso della tenda del convegno, perché sia accetto al Signore in suo favore.
4 and there lay his hand on the head of the holocaust, so that it may be acceptable to make atonement for him.	4 Poserà la mano sulla testa della vittima, che sarà accettata in suo favore per compiere il rito espiatorio per lui.
5 He shall then slaughter the bull before the LORD, but Aaron's sons, the priests, shall offer up its blood by splashing it on the sides of the altar which is at the entrance of the meeting tent.	5 Poi scannerà il giovenco davanti al Signore, e i figli di Aronne, i sacerdoti, offriranno il sangue e lo spargeranno intorno all’altare che è all’ingresso della tenda del convegno.
6 Then he shall skin the holocaust and cut it up into pieces.	6 Scorticherà la vittima e la taglierà a pezzi.
7 After Aaron's sons, the priests, have put some burning embers on the altar and laid some wood on them,	7 I figli del sacerdote Aronne porranno il fuoco sull’altare e metteranno la legna sul fuoco;
8 they shall lay the pieces of meat, together with the head and the suet, on top of the wood and embers on the altar.	8 poi i figli di Aronne, i sacerdoti, disporranno i pezzi, la testa e il grasso sulla legna e sul fuoco che è sull’altare.
9 The inner organs and the shanks, however, the offerer shall first wash with water. The priest shall then burn the whole offering on the altar as a holocaust, a sweet-smelling oblation to the LORD.	9 Laverà con acqua le viscere e le zampe; poi il sacerdote brucerà il tutto sull’altare come olocausto, sacrificio consumato dal fuoco, profumo gradito in onore del Signore.
10 "If his holocaust offering is from the flock, that is, a sheep or a goat, he must bring a male without blemish.	10 Se la sua offerta per l’olocausto è presa dal bestiame minuto, tra le pecore o tra le capre, egli offrirà un maschio senza difetto.
11 This he shall slaughter before the LORD at the north side of the altar. Then Aaron's sons, the priests, shall splash its blood on the sides of the altar.	11 Lo scannerà al lato settentrionale dell’altare, davanti al Signore. I figli di Aronne, i sacerdoti, spargeranno il sangue attorno all’altare.
12 When the offerer has cut it up into pieces, the priest shall lay these, together with the head and suet, on top of the wood and the fire on the altar.	12 Lo taglierà a pezzi, con la testa e il grasso, e il sacerdote li disporrà sulla legna, collocata sul fuoco dell’altare.
13 The inner organs and the shanks, however, the offerer shall first wash with water. The priest shall offer them up and then burn the whole offering on the altar as a holocaust, a sweet-smelling oblation to the LORD.	13 Laverà con acqua le viscere e le zampe; poi il sacerdote offrirà il tutto e lo brucerà sull’altare: è un olocausto, sacrificio consumato dal fuoco, profumo gradito in onore del Signore.
14 "If he offers a bird as a holocaust to the LORD, he shall choose a turtledove or a pigeon as his offering.	14 Se la sua offerta in onore del Signore è un olocausto di uccelli, presenterà tortore o colombi.
15 Having brought it to the altar where it is to be burned, the priest shall snap its head loose and squeeze out its blood against the side of the altar.	15 Il sacerdote presenterà l’animale all’altare, ne staccherà la testa, la farà bruciare sull’altare e il sangue sarà spruzzato sulla parete dell’altare.
16 Its crop and feathers shall be removed and thrown on the ash heap at the east side of the altar.	16 Poi toglierà il gozzo con il suo sudiciume e lo getterà al lato orientale dell’altare, dov’è il luogo delle ceneri.
17 Then, having split the bird down the middle without separating the halves, the priest shall burn it on the altar, over the wood on the fire, as a holocaust, a sweet-smelling oblation to the LORD.	17 Dividerà l’uccello in due metà prendendolo per le ali, ma senza staccarle, e il sacerdote lo brucerà sull’altare, sulla legna che è sul fuoco. È un olocausto, sacrificio consumato dal fuoco, profumo gradito in onore del Signore.
