Sirach 39

NEW AMERICAN BIBLE	BIBBIA VOLGARE
1 How different the man who devotes himself to the study of the law of the Most High! He explores the wisdom of the men of old and occupies himself with the prophecies;	1 Il savio ricercherae la sapienza di tutti li antichi, e istudierae nelli profeti.
2 He treasures the discourses of famous men, and goes to the heart of involved sayings;	2 Conserverae li detti delli famosi uomini, ed entrerae insiememente nelle sagacitadi delle parole.
3 He studies obscure parables, and is busied with the hidden meanings of the sages.	3 Ricercherae li occulti delli proverbii, e converserae nelli secreti delle parabole.
4 He is in attendance on the great, and has entrance to the ruler.	4 Amministrerae tra' grandi uomini, e apparirae nel conspetto de' rettori.
5 He travels among the peoples of foreign lands to learn what is good and evil among men.	5 Passerae nella terra delle strane genti; tenterae li mali e li beni nelli uomini.
6 His care is to seek the LORD, his Maker, to petition the Most High, To open his lips in prayer, to ask pardon for his sins. Then, if it pleases the LORD Almighty, he will be filled with the spirit of understanding; He will pour forth his words of wisdom and in prayer give thanks to the LORD,	6 Il cuore suo darae a vegliare per tempo al Signore che il fece; nel conspetto dello Altissimo pregherae.
7 Who will direct his knowledge and his counsel, as he meditates upon his mysteries.	7 Aprirà la bocca sua nella orazione, e per li peccati suoi pregherae.
8 He will show the wisdom of what he has learned and glory in the law of the LORD'S covenant.	8 Se l'alto Dio vorrà, riempierà lui di spirito d' intelligenza.
9 Many will praise his understanding; his fame can never be effaced; Unfading will be his memory, through all generations his name will live;	9 Egli, sì come piova, gitterae dolci parlari della sua sapienza, e nella orazione si confesserae al Signore.
10 Peoples will speak of his wisdom, and in assembly sing his praises.	10 Egli lo dirizzerae nel consiglio suo e nella disciplina; e nelli secreti suoi il consigliarae.
11 While he lives he is one out of a thousand, and when he dies his renown will not cease.	11 Farae manifestare la disciplina della sua dottrina, e gloriarassi nella legge del testamento del Signore.
12 Once more I will set forth my theme to shine like the moon in its fullness!	12 Molti loderanno la sapienza sua; infino nel secolo non si cancellerae (il suo senno).
13 Listen, my faithful children: open up your petals, like roses planted near running waters;	13 E nen si partirae la memoria di lui; il nome suo fia richiesto di generazione in generazione.
14 Send up the sweet odor of incense, break forth in blossoms like the lily. Send up the sweet odor of your hymn of praise; bless the LORD for all he has done!	14 Le genti parleranno della sapienza sua, e la chiesa dirae la lode di colui.
15 Proclaim the greatness of his name, loudly sing his praises, With music on the harp and all stringed instruments; sing out with joy as you proclaim:	15 S'elli basterà, il nome suo lascieranne più di mille; e riposerassi, e gioveragli.
16 The works of God are all of them good; in its own time every need is supplied.	16 Ancora consiglieroe, acciò che io parli; però che sì come di furore sono pieno.
17 At his word the waters become still as in a flask; he had but to speak and the reservoirs were made.	17 Nelle voci dico: udite me, divini frutti, e fruttificate sì come rosa piantata sopra li rivi dell' acqua.
18 He has but to command and his will is done; nothing can limit his achievement.	18 E fruttificate odore, sì come Libano.
19 The works of all mankind are present to him; not a thing escapes his eye.	19 Fiorite fiori, sì come giglio; date odore e fate frondi in grazia, e conlaudate in cantico, e benedite Iddio nell' opere sue.
20 His gaze spans all the ages; to him there is nothing unexpected.	20 Date al nome suo magnificenza, e confessatevi a lui nella voce delle labbra vostre nelle citare; e direte così nella confessione vostra :
21 No cause then to say: "What is the purpose of this?" Everything is chosen to satisfy a need.	21 L'opere del Signore sono tutte buone.
22 His blessing overflows like the Nile; like the Euphrates it enriches the surface of the earth.	22 Nella parola sua stette l'acqua sì come uno muro, e nel sermone dalla sua bocca sì come li ricevimenti delle acque.
23 Again, his wrath expels the nations and turns fertile land into a salt marsh.	23 Però che [nel] li suoi comandamenti egli è pacificatore, e non è scemamento nella salute sua.
24 For the virtuous his paths are level, to the haughty they are steep;	24 L'opera d' ogni uomo è dinanzi da lui; nulla cosa è nascosa dinanzi dagli occhi suoi.
25 Good things for the good he provided from the beginning, but for the wicked good things and bad.	25 Di secolo in secolo guarda, e non è nel conspetto suo cosa ammirabile.
26 Chief of all needs for human life are water and fire, iron and salt, The heart of the wheat, milk and honey, the blood of the grape, and oil, and cloth;	26 Non è a lui a dire: che è questo, o che è quello? tutte cose in loro tempo si domanderanno.
27 For the good all these are good, but for the wicked they turn out evil.	27 La sua benedizione sì come uno fiume si spanderà.
28 There are storm winds created to punish, which in their fury can dislodge mountains; When destruction must be, they hurl all their force and appease the anger of their Maker.	28 Come il diluvio inebriò la terra, così l'ira sua erediterae nelle genti che non cercarono lui.
29 In his treasury also, kept for the proper time, are fire and hail, famine, disease,	29 Com' elli l'acqua convertì in siccità, e la terra è seccata, così [come] le vie della terra alle vie di loro (cioè de' fiumi) sono dirette; così saranno le offensioni nell' ira sua a' peccatori.
30 Ravenous beasts, scorpions, vipers, and the avenging sword to exterminate the wicked;	30 Dal cominciamento li beni sono creati alli buoni; così alli rei e li beni e li mali.
31 In doing his bidding they rejoice, in their assignments they disobey not his command.	31 Il principio della cosa necessaria della vita degli uomini si è: acqua, fuoco, ferro e sale e latte e pane di farina monda, e miele e grappolo d' uva e olio e vestimento.
32 So from the first I took my stand, and wrote down as my theme:	32 Queste cose a' santi tutte sono ne' beni; e così si convertono in male alli malvagi e alli peccatori.
33 The works of God are all of them good; every need when it comes he fills.	33 Sono spiriti (maligni), li quali sono creati a vendetta (de' rei); e nello suo furore confermarono li suoi tormenti.
34 No cause then to say: "This is not as good as that"; for each shows its worth at the proper time.	34 Nel tempo della fine del secolo getteranno la forza; e ritornerà in sè medesimi il furore di colui che gli fece.
35 So now with full joy of heart proclaim and bless the name of the Holy One.	35 Fuoco, gragnuola, fame e morte, tutte queste cose sono create a vendetta;
	36 li denti delle bestie, li scorpioni e li serpenti e la spada che punisce in disterminamento delli iniqui.
	37 Pascerannosi nelli comandamenti suoi, e apparecchierannosi sopra terra nella necessitade, e nelli suoi tempi non travalicheranno punto.
	38 Però sono io (sapienza) confermata dal principio; io mi consigliai e pensai e lasciai alle scritture.
	39 Tutte l'opere di Dio sono buone, e ciascuna opera governa li suoi pesi.
	40 Non è dire: questa cosa è peggiore di quella; ogni cosa si prova nel suo tempo.
	41 E ora benedite e collaudate insieme il nome di Dio in ogni cuore e in ogni bocca.
