1 הוי ארץ צלצל כנפים אשר מעבר לנהרי כוש	1 Disaster! Land of the whirring locust beyond the rivers of Cush,
2 השלח בים צירים ובכלי גמא על פני מים לכו מלאכים קלים אל גוי ממשך ומורט אל עם נורא מן הוא והלאה גוי קו קו ומבוסה אשר בזאו נהרים ארצו	2 who send ambassadors by sea, in little reed-boats across the waters! Go, swift messengers to a nationtal and bronzed, to a people feared far and near, a mighty and masterful nation whose country is criss-crossedwith rivers.
3 כל ישבי תבל ושכני ארץ כנשא נס הרים תראו וכתקע שופר תשמעו	3 Al you who inhabit the world, you who people the earth, when the signal is hoisted on the mountains,you wil see, when the ram's-horn is sounded, you wil hear.
4 כי כה אמר יהוה אלי אשקוטה ואביטה במכוני כחם צח עלי אור כעב טל בחם קציר	4 For this is what Yahweh has told me, 'I shall sit here quietly looking down, like the burning heat in thedaytime, like a dewy mist in the heat of harvest.'
