Isaia 18

1 Guai alla terra, cimbalo alato, che è oltre i fiumi dell'Etiopia,	1 Ah, land of buzzing insects, beyond the rivers of Ethiopia,
2 La quale manda ambasciadori per mare in barche di papiro, che van sulle acque. Andate, nunzj veloci alla nazione scossa, e lacerata, a quel popolo, formidabile più d'ogn'altro, alla nazione, che aspetta, ed è conculcata, di cui la terra è portata via da' fiumi.	2 Sending ambassadors by sea, in papyrus boats on the waters! Go, swift messengers, to a nation tall and bronzed, To a people dreaded near and far, a nation strong and conquering, whose land is washed by rivers.
3 Abitatori tutti della terra, che avete stanza sulla terra; alzato che sia lo stendardo sui monti, lo vedrete, e udirete il rauco suon della tromba:	3 All you who inhabit the world, who dwell on earth, When the signal is raised on the mountain, look! When the trumpet blows, listen!
4 Ma il Signore dice a me: Io starò in riposo, e considererò dalla mia sede, come è chiara la luce di mezzogiorno, e come una nube di rugiada al tempo della ricolta.	4 For thus says the LORD to me: I will quietly look on from where I dwell, Like the glowing heat of sunshine, like a cloud of dew at harvest time.
5 Imperocché avanti tempo fiorirà tutto, e germoglierà con immatura prosperità, e i suoi tralci saranno recisi colla falce, e quello, che rimarrà, sarà troncato, e gittato via.	5 Before the vintage, when the flowering is ended, and the blooms are succeeded by ripening grapes, Then comes the cutting of branches with pruning hooks and the discarding of the lopped-off shoots.
6 E saranno abbandonati insieme agli uccelli di montagna, e alle bestie della terra, e per tutta l'estate staranno sopra di loro gli uccelli, e tutte le bestie della terra sverneranno sopra di lui.	6 They shall all be left to the mountain birds of prey, and to the beasts in the land; The birds of prey shall summer on them and on them all the beasts of the earth shall winter.
7 In quel tempo dal popolo dissipato, e, lacerato, dal popolo formidabile più d'ogni altro, dalla nazione, che aspetta, ed è conculcata (di cui la terra è de vastata da' fiumi) saran portati dei doni al Signore degli eserciti nel luogo, che ha nome dal Signor degli eserciti, nel monte di Sion.	7 Then will gifts be brought to the LORD of hosts from a people tall and bronzed, from a people dreaded near and far, a nation strong and conquering, whose land is washed by rivers-to Mount Zion where dwells the name of the LORD of hosts.
