ΙΕΖΕΚΙΗΛ - Ezechiele - Ezekiel 1

LXX	NEW JERUSALEM
1 και εγενετο εν τω τριακοστω ετει εν τω τεταρτω μηνι πεμπτη του μηνος και εγω ημην εν μεσω της αιχμαλωσιας επι του ποταμου του χοβαρ και ηνοιχθησαν οι ουρανοι και ειδον ορασεις θεου	1 In the thirtieth year, on the fifth day of the fourth month, as I was among the exiles by the River Chebar,heaven opened and I saw visions from God.
2 πεμπτη του μηνος τουτο το ετος το πεμπτον της αιχμαλωσιας του βασιλεως ιωακιμ	2 On the fifth of the month -- it was the fifth year of exile for King Jehoiachin-
3 και εγενετο λογος κυριου προς ιεζεκιηλ υιον βουζι τον ιερεα εν γη χαλδαιων επι του ποταμου του χοβαρ και εγενετο επ' εμε χειρ κυριου	3 the word of Yahweh was addressed to the priest Ezekiel son of Buzi, in Chaldaea by the River Chebar.There the hand of Yahweh came on him.
4 και ειδον και ιδου πνευμα εξαιρον ηρχετο απο βορρα και νεφελη μεγαλη εν αυτω και φεγγος κυκλω αυτου και πυρ εξαστραπτον και εν τω μεσω αυτου ως ορασις ηλεκτρου εν μεσω του πυρος και φεγγος εν αυτω	4 I looked; a stormy wind blew from the north, a great cloud with flashing fire and bril iant light round it,and in the middle, in the heart of the fire, a bril iance like that of amber,
5 και εν τω μεσω ως ομοιωμα τεσσαρων ζωων και αυτη η ορασις αυτων ομοιωμα ανθρωπου επ' αυτοις	5 and in the middle what seemed to be four living creatures. They looked like this: They were of humanform.
6 και τεσσαρα προσωπα τω ενι και τεσσαρες πτερυγες τω ενι	6 Each had four faces, each had four wings.
7 και τα σκελη αυτων ορθα και πτερωτοι οι ποδες αυτων και σπινθηρες ως εξαστραπτων χαλκος και ελαφραι αι πτερυγες αυτων	7 Their legs were straight; they had hooves like calves, glittering like polished brass.
8 και χειρ ανθρωπου υποκατωθεν των πτερυγων αυτων επι τα τεσσαρα μερη αυτων και τα προσωπα αυτων των τεσσαρων	8 Below their wings, they had human hands on all four sides corresponding to their four faces and fourwings.
9 ουκ επεστρεφοντο εν τω βαδιζειν αυτα εκαστον κατεναντι του προσωπου αυτων επορευοντο	9 They touched one another with their wings; they did not turn as they moved; each one moved straightforward.
10 και ομοιωσις των προσωπων αυτων προσωπον ανθρωπου και προσωπον λεοντος εκ δεξιων τοις τεσσαρσιν και προσωπον μοσχου εξ αριστερων τοις τεσσαρσιν και προσωπον αετου τοις τεσσαρσιν	10 As to the appearance of their faces, al four had a human face, and a lion's face to the right, and allfour had a bull's face to the left, and al four had an eagle's face.
11 και αι πτερυγες αυτων εκτεταμεναι ανωθεν τοις τεσσαρσιν εκατερω δυο συνεζευγμεναι προς αλληλας και δυο επεκαλυπτον επανω του σωματος αυτων	11 Their wings were spread upwards, each had one pair touching its neighbour's, and the other paircovering its body.
12 και εκατερον κατα προσωπον αυτου επορευετο ου αν ην το πνευμα πορευομενον επορευοντο και ουκ επεστρεφον	12 And each one moved straight forward; they went where the spirit urged them, they did not turn as theymoved.
13 και εν μεσω των ζωων ορασις ως ανθρακων πυρος καιομενων ως οψις λαμπαδων συστρεφομενων ανα μεσον των ζωων και φεγγος του πυρος και εκ του πυρος εξεπορευετο αστραπη	13 Between these living creatures were what looked like blazing coals, like torches, darting backwardsand forwards between the living creatures; the fire gave a bril iant light, and lightning flashed from the fire,
14 -	14 and the living creatures kept disappearing and reappearing like flashes of lightning.
15 και ειδον και ιδου τροχος εις επι της γης εχομενος των ζωων τοις τεσσαρσιν	15 Now, as I looked at the living creatures, I saw a wheel touching the ground beside each of the four-faced living creatures.
16 και το ειδος των τροχων ως ειδος θαρσις και ομοιωμα εν τοις τεσσαρσιν και το εργον αυτων ην καθως αν ειη τροχος εν τροχω	16 The appearance and structure of the wheels were like glittering chrysolite. All four looked alike, andtheir appearance and structure were such that each wheel seemed to have another wheel inside it.
17 επι τα τεσσαρα μερη αυτων επορευοντο ουκ επεστρεφον εν τω πορευεσθαι αυτα	17 In whichever of the four directions they moved, they did not need to turn as they moved.
18 ουδ' οι νωτοι αυτων και υψος ην αυτοις και ειδον αυτα και οι νωτοι αυτων πληρεις οφθαλμων κυκλοθεν τοις τεσσαρσιν	18 Their circumference was of awe-inspiring size, and the rims of al four sparkled all the way round.
19 και εν τω πορευεσθαι τα ζωα επορευοντο οι τροχοι εχομενοι αυτων και εν τω εξαιρειν τα ζωα απο της γης εξηροντο οι τροχοι	19 When the living creatures moved, the wheels moved beside them; and when the living creatures leftthe ground, the wheels too left the ground.
20 ου αν ην η νεφελη εκει το πνευμα του πορευεσθαι επορευοντο τα ζωα και οι τροχοι και εξηροντο συν αυτοις διοτι πνευμα ζωης ην εν τοις τροχοις	20 They moved in whichever direction the spirit chose to go, and the wheels rose with them, since thewheels shared the spirit of the animals.
21 εν τω πορευεσθαι αυτα επορευοντο και εν τω εσταναι αυτα ειστηκεισαν και εν τω εξαιρειν αυτα απο της γης εξηροντο συν αυτοις οτι πνευμα ζωης ην εν τοις τροχοις	21 When the living creatures moved on, they moved on; when the former halted, the latter halted; whenthe former left the ground, the wheels too left the ground, since the wheels shared the spirit of the animals.
22 και ομοιωμα υπερ κεφαλης αυτοις των ζωων ωσει στερεωμα ως ορασις κρυσταλλου εκτεταμενον επι των πτερυγων αυτων επανωθεν	22 Over the heads of the living creatures was what looked like a solid surface glittering like crystal,spread out over their heads, above them,
23 και υποκατω του στερεωματος αι πτερυγες αυτων εκτεταμεναι πτερυσσομεναι ετερα τη ετερα εκαστω δυο συνεζευγμεναι επικαλυπτουσαι τα σωματα αυτων	23 and under the solid surface, their wings were spread out straight, touching one another, and each hada pair covering its body.
24 και ηκουον την φωνην των πτερυγων αυτων εν τω πορευεσθαι αυτα ως φωνην υδατος πολλου και εν τω εσταναι αυτα κατεπαυον αι πτερυγες αυτων	24 I also heard the noise of their wings; when they moved, it was like the noise of flood-waters, like thevoice of Shaddai, like the noise of a storm, like the noise of an armed camp; and when they halted, they loweredtheir wings;
25 και ιδου φωνη υπερανωθεν του στερεωματος του οντος υπερ κεφαλης αυτων	25 there was a noise too.
26 ως ορασις λιθου σαπφειρου ομοιωμα θρονου επ' αυτου και επι του ομοιωματος του θρονου ομοιωμα ως ειδος ανθρωπου ανωθεν	26 Beyond the solid surface above their heads, there was what seemed like a sapphire, in the form of athrone. High above on the form of a throne was a form with the appearance of a human being.
27 και ειδον ως οψιν ηλεκτρου απο ορασεως οσφυος και επανω και απο ορασεως οσφυος και εως κατω ειδον ως ορασιν πυρος και το φεγγος αυτου κυκλω	27 I saw a bril iance like amber, like fire, radiating from what appeared to be the waist upwards; and fromwhat appeared to be the waist downwards, I saw what looked like fire, giving a bril iant light al round.
28 ως ορασις τοξου οταν η εν τη νεφελη εν ημερα υετου ουτως η στασις του φεγγους κυκλοθεν αυτη η ορασις ομοιωματος δοξης κυριου και ειδον και πιπτω επι προσωπον μου και ηκουσα φωνην λαλουντος	28 The radiance of the encircling light was like the radiance of the bow in the clouds on rainy days. Thesight was like the glory of Yahweh. I looked and fell to the ground, and I heard the voice of someone speaking tome.
