LXXNEW AMERICAN BIBLE
το οραμα τυρου ολολυζετε πλοια καρχηδονος οτι απωλετο και ουκετι ερχονται εκ γης κιτιαιων ηκται αιχμαλωτος1 Oracle on Tyre: Wail, O ships of Tarshish, for your port is destroyed; From the land of the Kittim the news reaches them.
τινι ομοιοι γεγονασιν οι ενοικουντες εν τη νησω μεταβολοι φοινικης διαπερωντες την θαλασσαν2 Silence! you who dwell on the coast, you merchants of Sidon, Whose messengers crossed the sea
εν υδατι πολλω σπερμα μεταβολων ως αμητου εισφερομενου οι μεταβολοι των εθνων3 over the deep waters. The grain of Shihor, the harvest of the Nile, was her revenue, and she the merchant among nations.
αισχυνθητι σιδων ειπεν η θαλασσα η δε ισχυς της θαλασσης ειπεν ουκ ωδινον ουδε ετεκον ουδε εξεθρεψα νεανισκους ουδε υψωσα παρθενους4 Shame, O Sidon, fortress on the sea, for the sea has spoken: "I have not been in labor, nor given birth, nor raised young men, nor reared virgins."
οταν δε ακουστον γενηται αιγυπτω λημψεται αυτους οδυνη περι τυρου5 When it is heard in Egypt they shall be in anguish at the news of Tyre.
απελθατε εις καρχηδονα ολολυξατε οι ενοικουντες εν τη νησω ταυτη6 Pass over to Tarshish, wailing, you who dwell on the coast!
ουχ αυτη ην υμων η υβρις η απ' αρχης πριν η παραδοθηναι αυτην7 Is this your wanton city, whose origin is from old, Whose feet have taken her to dwell in distant lands?
τις ταυτα εβουλευσεν επι τυρον μη ησσων εστιν η ουκ ισχυει οι εμποροι αυτης ενδοξοι αρχοντες της γης8 Who has planned such a thing against Tyre, the bestower of crowns, Whose merchants are princes, whose traders are the earth's honored men?
κυριος σαβαωθ εβουλευσατο παραλυσαι πασαν την υβριν των ενδοξων και ατιμασαι παν ενδοξον επι της γης9 The LORD of hosts has planned it, to disgrace all pride of majesty, to degrade all the earth's honored men.
εργαζου την γην σου και γαρ πλοια ουκετι ερχεται εκ καρχηδονος10 Cross to your own land, O ship of Tarshish; the harbor is no more.
η δε χειρ σου ουκετι ισχυει κατα θαλασσαν η παροξυνουσα βασιλεις κυριος σαβαωθ ενετειλατο περι χανααν απολεσαι αυτης την ισχυν11 His hand he stretches out over the sea, he shakes kingdoms; The LORD has ordered the destruction of Canaan's strongholds.
και ερουσιν ουκετι μη προσθητε του υβριζειν και αδικειν την θυγατερα σιδωνος και εαν απελθης εις κιτιεις ουδε εκει σοι αναπαυσις εσται12 You shall exult no more, he says, you who are now oppressed, virgin daughter Sidon. Arise, pass over to the Kittim, even there you shall find no rest.
και εις γην χαλδαιων και αυτη ηρημωται απο των ασσυριων ουδε εκει σοι αναπαυσις εσται οτι ο τοιχος αυτης πεπτωκεν13 (This people is the land of the Chaldeans, not Assyria.) She whom the impious founded, setting up towers for her, Has had her castles destroyed, and has been turned into a ruin.
ολολυζετε πλοια καρχηδονος οτι απωλετο το οχυρωμα υμων14 Lament, O ships of Tarshish, for your haven is destroyed.
και εσται εν τη ημερα εκεινη καταλειφθησεται τυρος ετη εβδομηκοντα ως χρονος βασιλεως ως χρονος ανθρωπου και εσται μετα εβδομηκοντα ετη εσται τυρος ως ασμα πορνης15 On that day, Tyre shall be forgotten for seventy years. With the days of another king, at the end of seventy years, it shall be for Tyre as in the song about the harlot:
λαβε κιθαραν ρεμβευσον πολεις πορνη επιλελησμενη καλως κιθαρισον πολλα ασον ινα σου μνεια γενηται16 Take a harp, go about the city, O forgotten harlot; Pluck the strings skillfully, sing many songs, that they may remember you.
και εσται μετα εβδομηκοντα ετη επισκοπην ποιησει ο θεος τυρου και παλιν αποκατασταθησεται εις το αρχαιον και εσται εμποριον πασαις ταις βασιλειαις της οικουμενης17 At the end of the seventy years the LORD shall visit Tyre. She shall return to her hire and deal with all the world's kingdoms on the face of the earth.
και εσται αυτης η εμπορια και ο μισθος αγιον τω κυριω ουκ αυτοις συναχθησεται αλλα τοις κατοικουσιν εναντι κυριου πασα η εμπορια αυτης φαγειν και πιειν και εμπλησθηναι εις συμβολην μνημοσυνον εναντι κυριου18 But her merchandise and her hire shall be sacred to the LORD. It shall not be stored up or laid away, but from her merchandise those who dwell before the LORD shall eat their fill and clothe themselves in choice attire.
