1 This then was the lot of the tribe of the children of Judah by their families; even to the border of Edom the wilderness of Zin southward was the uttermost part of the south coast.	1 La porzione adunque che toccò in sorte a' figliuoli di Giuda famiglia per famiglia fu questa: Da' confini dell’Idumea, il deserto di Sin verso mezzodì, sino all'estremità della regione meridionale:
2 And their south border was from the shore of the salt sea, from the bay that looketh southward:	2 Eglino cominciano alla punta del mar salato, e a quella lingua di esso che guarda mezzodì;
3 And it went out to the south side to Maaleh-acrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and ascended up on the south side unto Kadesh-barnea, and passed along to Hezron, and went up to Adar, and fetched a compass to Karkaa:	3 E s'inoltrano verso la salita dello scorpione, e passano a Sina; e montano verso Cadesbarne, e arrivano ad Esron, e si avanzano ad Addar, e girano intorno a Carcaa:
4 From thence it passed toward Azmon, and went out unto the river of Egypt; and the goings out of that coast were at the sea: this shall be your south coast.	4 E di là vanno ad Asemona, e giungono al torrente dell'Egitto, e finiscono al mar grande. Questi sono i loro confini da mezzodì.
5 And the east border was the salt sea, even unto the end of Jordan. And their border in the north quarter was from the bay of the sea at the uttermost part of Jordan:	5 Da oriente poi cominciano al mar salato, e vanno fino all'estremità del Giordano: dalla parte poi che guarda settentrione, dalla lingua di mare fino allo stesso fiume Giordano.
6 And the border went up to Beth-hogla, and passed along by the north of Beth-arabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben:	6 E i loro confini salgono a Beth-Hagla, e passano da settentrione a Beth-Araba: e vanno al sasso di Boen figliuolo di Ruben:
7 And the border went up toward Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is before the going up to Adummim, which is on the south side of the river: and the border passed toward the waters of En-shemesh, and the goings out thereof were at En-rogel:	7 E vanno fino a' confini di Debera dalla valle di Achor, verso settentrione guardano Galgala, che è dirimpetto alla salita di Adommim dalla parte meridionale del torrente; e passano le acque, che si chiamano la Fontana del sole, e terminano al fonte di Rogel.
8 And the border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom unto the south side of the Jebusite; the same is Jerusalem: and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lieth before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the end of the valley of the giants northward:	8 Salgono per la valle del figliuolo di Ennom dalla parte meridionale delli Jebusei: qui è Gerusalemme: e quindi si alzano alla cima del monte, che è dirimpetto a Geennom da occidente all’estremità della valle di Raphaim da tramontana:
9 And the border was drawn from the top of the hill unto the fountain of the water of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of mount Ephron; and the border was drawn to Baalah, which is Kirjath-jearim:	9 E passano dalla cima del monte sino alla fonte di Nephtoa, e arrivano sino a' villaggi del monte Ephron, e declinano verso Baala che è Cariathiarim, vale a dire città de’ boschi:
10 And the border compassed from Baalah westward unto mount Seir, and passed along unto the side of mount Jearim, which is Chesalon, on the north side, and went down to Beth-shemesh, and passed on to Timnah:	10 E da Baala girano verso occidente sino al monte Seir, e passano vicino al lato del monte Jarim che è a settentrione di Cheslon: e scendono a Bethsames, e passano a Thamna:
11 And the border went out unto the side of Ekron northward: and the border was drawn to Shicron, and passed along to mount Baalah, and went out unto Jabneel; and the goings out of the border were at the sea.	11 E arrivano fin verso il lato settentrionale di Accaron, e declinano verso Sechrona, e trapassano il monte Baala: e arrivano a Jebneel, e terminano al lato occidentale del mar grande.
12 And the west border was to the great sea, and the coast thereof. This is the coast of the children of Judah round about according to their families.	12 Questi sono i confini dei figliuoli di Giuda da tutte le bande secondo le loro famiglie.
13 And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a part among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua, even the city of Arba the father of Anak, which city is Hebron.	13 Ma a Caleb figliuolo di Jephone diede (Giosuè) la sua porzione in mezzo a' figliuoli di Giuda, conforme gli aveva ordinato il Signore: Cariath-Arbe che era del padre di Enac: vale a dire Hebron.
14 And Caleb drove thence the three sons of Anak, Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.	14 E Caleb ne sterminò i tre figliuoli di Enac, Sesai, e Ahiman, e Tholmai della stirpe di Enac.
15 And he went up thence to the inhabitants of Debir: and the name of Debir before was Kirjath-sepher.	15 E di là avanzandosi arrivò verso gli abitanti di Dabir, che era pell’avanti detta Cariath Sepher, vale a dire città delle lettere.
16 And Caleb said, He that smiteth Kirjath-sepher, and taketh it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife.	16 E disse Caleb: Darò in moglie Axa mia figliuola a chi assalterà Cariath Sepher, e se n'impadronirà.
17 And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.	17 E Othoniel figliuolo di Cenez fratello minore di Caleb la prese, e quegli diede a lui per moglie Axa sua figlia.
18 And it came to pass, as she came unto him, that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she lighted off her ass; and Caleb said unto her, What wouldest thou?	18 E mentre se n'andavano insieme, il suo sposo la persuase a dimandare a suo padre un campo: ed ella come era a seder sopra un asino, gettò un sospiro. E Caleb le disse: Che hai tu?
19 Who answered, Give me a blessing; for thou hast given me a south land; give me also springs of water. And he gave her the upper springs, and the nether springs.	19 Ed ella rispose: Dammi benedizione: tu mi hai data una terra verso il mezzodì, e asciutta: dammene anche una che si bagni. Le dette adunque Caleb di sopra, e di sotto dei campi che s'inaffiano.
20 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families.	20 Questa è la porzione della tribù de' figliuoli di Giuda distribuita famiglia per famiglia.
21 And the uttermost cities of the tribe of the children of Judah toward the coast of Edom southward were Kabzeel, and Eder, and Jagur,	21 E le città de' figliuoli di Giuda nell'estreme parti del mezzodì verso i confini dell'Idumea, erano Cabseel, ed Eder, e Jagur,
22 And Kinah, and Dimonah, and Adadah,	22 E Cina, e Dimona, e Adada,
23 And Kedesh, and Hazor, and Ithnan,	23 E Cades, e Asor, e Jethnam,
24 Ziph, and Telem, and Bealoth,	24 Ziph, e Telem , e Baloth,
25 And Hazor, Hadattah, and Kerioth, and Hezron, which is Hazor,	25 Asor la nuova, e Carioth, Hesron, vale a dire Asor.
26 Amam, and Shema, and Moladah,	26 Amam, Sama, e Molada,
27 And Hazar-gaddah, and Heshmon, and Beth-palet,	27 E Asergadda, e Hassemon, e Bethphelet,
28 And Hazar-shual, and Beer-sheba, and Bizjothjah,	28 E Hasersual, e Bersabee, e Baziothia,
29 Baalah, and Iim, and Azem,	29 E Baala, e Jim ed Esem,
30 And Eltolad, and Chesil, and Hormah,	30 Ed Heltolad, e Cesil, e Harma,
31 And Ziklag, and Madmannah, and Sansannah,	31 E Siceleg, e Medemena, e Sensenna,
32 And Lebaoth, and Shilhim, and Ain, and Rimmon: all the cities are twenty and nine, with their villages:	32 Lebaoth, e Selim, e Aen, e Remmon; in tutto ventinove città co' loro villaggi.
33 And in the valley, Eshtaol, and Zoreah, and Ashnah,	33 E nella pianura Estaol, e Sarea, e Asena,
34 And Zanoah, and En-gannim, Tappuah, and Enam,	34 E Zanoe, e Engannim, e Taphua, ed Enaim,
35 Jarmuth, and Adullam, Socoh, and Azekah,	35 E Jerimoth, e Adullam, Socho, e Azeca,
36 And Sharaim, and Adithaim, and Gederah, and Gederothaim; fourteen cities with their villages:	36 E Saraim, e Adithaim, e Gedera, e Gederothaim: quattordici città co' loro villaggi.
37 Zenan, and Hadashah, and Migdal-gad,	37 Sanan, e Hadassa, e Magdalgad,
38 And Dilean, and Mizpeh, and Joktheel,	38 Delean, e Masepha, e Jectel,
39 Lachish, and Bozkath, and Eglon,	39 Lachis, e Bascath, ed Eglon,
40 And Cabbon, and Lahmam, and Kithlish,	40 Chebbon, e Leeman, e Cethlis,
41 And Gederoth, Beth-dagon, and Naamah, and Makkedah; sixteen cities with their villages:	41 E Gideroth, e Bethdagon, e Naama, e Maceda: sedici città co' loro villaggi.
42 Libnah, and Ether, and Ashan,	42 Labana, ed Ether, e Asan,
43 And Jiphtah, and Ashnah, and Nezib,	43 Jephtha, ed Esna, e Nesib,
44 And Keilah, and Achzib, and Mareshah; nine cities with their villages:	44 E Ceila, e Achzib, e Maresa: nove città coi loro villaggi.
45 Ekron, with her towns and her villages:	45 Accaron co' suoi villaggi, e castelli.
46 From Ekron even unto the sea, all that lay near Ashdod, with their villages:	46 Da Accaron sino al mare: tutto il paese verso Azoto co' suoi villaggi.
47 Ashdod with her towns and her villages, Gaza with her towns and her villages, unto the river of Egypt, and the great sea, and the border thereof:	47 Azoto co' suoi villaggi, e castelli. Gaza co' suoi villaggi, e castelli fino al torrente d'Egitto, e il mar grande è suo confine.
48 And in the mountains, Shamir, and Jattir, and Socoh,	48 E nella montagna: Samir, e Jether, e Socoth,
49 And Dannah, and Kirjath-sannah, which is Debir,	49 E Danna, e Cariathsenna, che è lo stesso che Dabir:
50 And Anab, and Eshtemoh, and Anim,	50 Anab, e Istemo, e Anim,
51 And Goshen, and Holon, and Giloh; eleven cities with their villages:	51 Gosen, e Olon, e Gilo: undici città co' loro villaggi.
52 Arab, and Dumah, and Eshean,	52 Arab, e Ruma, ed Esaan,
53 And Janum, and Beth-tappuah, and Aphekah,	53 E Janum, e Beththaphua, e Apheca,
54 And Humtah, and Kirjath-arba, which is Hebron, and Zior; nine cities with their villages:	54 Athmatha, e Cariath-Arbe, ch'è Hebron, e Sior: nove città co' loro villaggi.
55 Maon, Carmel, and Ziph, and Juttah,	55 Maon, e Carmel, e Ziph, e Jota,
56 And Jezreel, and Jokdeam, and Zanoah,	56 Jezrael, e Juca-dam, e Zanoe,
57 Cain, Gibeah, and Timnah; ten cities with their villages:	57 Accaim, Gabaa, e Thamna: dieci città co' loro villaggi.
58 Halhul, Beth-zur, and Gedor,	58 Halhul, e Bessur, e Gedor,
59 And Maarath, and Beth-anoth, and Eltekon; six cities with their villages:	59 Mareth, e Bethanoth, ed Eltecon: sei città coi loro villaggi.
60 Kirjath-baal, which is Kirjath-jearim, and Rabbah; two cities with their villages:	60 Cariath-baal, questa è Cariath-iarim città de' boschi, e Arebba: due città co' loro villaggi.
61 In the wilderness, Beth-arabah, Middin, and Secacah,	61 Nel deserto Betharaba, Meddin, e Sachacha,
62 And Nibshan, and the city of Salt, and En-gedi; six cities with their villages.	62 E Nebsan, e la città del Sale, ed Engaddi: sei città co' loro villaggi.
63 As for the Jebusites the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah could not drive them out: but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Judah at Jerusalem unto this day.	63 Ma lo Jebuseo che abitava in Gerusalemme, nol poterono discacciare i figliuoli di Giuda: ed i Jebusei son rimasi in Gerusalemme co' figliuoli di Giuda fino al dì d'oggi.
