Jeremiah 48

KING JAMES BIBLE	JERUSALEM
1 Against Moab thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Woe unto Nebo! for it is spoiled: Kiriathaim is confounded and taken: Misgab is confounded and dismayed.	1 Sur Moab. Ainsi parle Yahvé Sabaot, le Dieu d'Israël. Malheur au Nebo, car il est saccagé,Qiryatayim a eu honte, elle est prise, honte et terreur sur la citadelle:
2 There shall be no more praise of Moab: in Heshbon they have devised evil against it; come, and let us cut it off from being a nation. Also thou shalt be cut down, O Madmen; the sword shall pursue thee.	2 elle n'est plus, la fierté de Moab! A Heshbôn on a machiné son malheur: "Allons! Supprimons-lad'entre les nations!" Toi aussi, Madmèn, tu seras réduite au silence, l'épée te serre de près.
3 A voice of crying shall be from Horonaim, spoiling and great destruction.	3 Des clameurs viennent de Horonayim: "Dévastation! Immense désastre!"
4 Moab is destroyed; her little ones have caused a cry to be heard.	4 Moab est terrassée, ses petits font entendre un cri.
5 For in the going up of Luhith continual weeping shall go up; for in the going down of Horonaim the enemies have heard a cry of destruction.	5 Oui, la montée de Luhit, on la monte en pleurant. Oui, à la descente de Horonayim, on entend uneclameur de désastre:
6 Flee, save your lives, and be like the heath in the wilderness.	6 "Fuyez, sauvez votre vie, imitez l'onagre dans le désert!"
7 For because thou hast trusted in thy works and in thy treasures, thou shalt also be taken: and Chemosh shall go forth into captivity with his priests and his princes together.	7 Oui, puisque tu t'es fiée à tes oeuvres et à tes trésors, tu seras prise, toi aussi. Kemosh partira encaptivité, avec ses prêtres et ses princes tous ensemble.
8 And the spoiler shall come upon every city, and no city shall escape: the valley also shall perish, and the plain shall be destroyed, as the LORD hath spoken.	8 Un dévastateur va venir contre toute ville, aucune ne réchappera: la Vallée sera ravagée, le Plateausaccagé, comme Yahvé l'a dit.
9 Give wings unto Moab, that it may flee and get away: for the cities thereof shall be desolate, without any to dwell therein.	9 Donnez des ailes à Moab, pour qu'elle puisse s'envoler! Ses villes se changeront en désolation, nuln'y habitant plus.
10 Cursed be he that doeth the work of the LORD deceitfully, and cursed be he that keepeth back his sword from blood.	10 (Maudit celui qui fait avec négligence le travail de Yahvé! Maudit qui prive de sang son épée!)
11 Moab hath been at ease from his youth, and he hath settled on his lees, and hath not been emptied from vessel to vessel, neither hath he gone into captivity: therefore his taste remained in him, and his scent is not changed.	11 Tranquille était Moab depuis sa jeunesse, il reposait sur sa lie, n'ayant jamais été transvasé,n'étant jamais parti en exil; aussi sa saveur lui était restée et son parfum ne s'était pas altéré.
12 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will send unto him wanderers, that shall cause him to wander, and shall empty his vessels, and break their bottles.	12 C'est pourquoi, voici venir des jours -- oracle de Yahvé -- où je lui enverrai des transvaseurs quile transvaseront; ils videront ses cruches et briseront ses amphores.
13 And Moab shall be ashamed of Chemosh, as the house of Israel was ashamed of Bethel their confidence.	13 Alors Moab aura honte de Kemosh, comme la maison d'Israël a eu honte de Béthel en qui elle seconfia.
14 How say ye, We are mighty and strong men for the war?	14 Comment pouvez-vous dire: "Nous sommes des héros, de vrais combattants?"
15 Moab is spoiled, and gone up out of her cities, and his chosen young men are gone down to the slaughter, saith the King, whose name is the LORD of hosts.	15 Moab est ravagé; on a escaladé ses villes, l'élite de sa jeunesse descend à la boucherie, oracle duRoi qui a pour nom Yahvé Sabaot.
16 The calamity of Moab is near to come, and his affliction hasteth fast.	16 La ruine de Moab est proche, son malheur se précipite.
17 All ye that are about him, bemoan him; and all ye that know his name, say, How is the strong staff broken, and the beautiful rod!	17 Plaignez-le, vous tous ses voisins, vous tous qui connaissiez son nom. Dites: "Quoi! Il est brisé,ce bâton puissant, ce sceptre magnifique!"
18 Thou daughter that dost inhabit Dibon, come down from thy glory, and sit in thirst; for the spoiler of Moab shall come upon thee, and he shall destroy thy strong holds.	18 Descends de ta gloire, assieds-toi sur un sol assoiffé, habitante, fille de Dibôn, car le dévastateurde Moab est monté contre toi, il a détruit tes forteresses.
19 O inhabitant of Aroer, stand by the way, and espy; ask him that fleeth, and her that escapeth, and say, What is done?	19 Poste-toi sur la route et guette, habitante d'Aroër, interroge fuyard et rescapé. Demande: "Qu'est-il arrivé" --
20 Moab is confounded; for it is broken down: howl and cry; and tell ye it in Arnon, that Moab is spoiled,	20 "Moab est honteux de sa destruction; gémissez et criez! Publiez sur l'Arnon que Moab estdévasté!"
21 And judgment is come upon the plain country; upon Holon, and upon Jahazah, and upon Mephaath,	21 Le jugement est venu contre le Plateau, contre Holôn, Yahça, Méphaat,
22 And upon Dibon, and upon Nebo, and upon Beth-diblathaim,	22 Dibôn, Nebo, Bet-Diblatayim,
23 And upon Kiriathaim, and upon Beth-gamul, and upon Beth-meon,	23 Qiryatayim, Bet-Gamul, Bet-Meôn,
24 And upon Kerioth, and upon Bozrah, and upon all the cities of the land of Moab, far or near.	24 Qeriyyot, Boçra et contre toutes les villes du pays de Moab, les lointaines comme les proches.
25 The horn of Moab is cut off, and his arm is broken, saith the LORD.	25 "La force de Moab est abattue, son bras est brisé, oracle de Yahvé."
26 Make ye him drunken: for he magnified himself against the LORD: Moab also shall wallow in his vomit, and he also shall be in derision.	26 Enivrez-le, car il s'est dressé contre Yahvé: que Moab se roule dans sa vomissure et devienne, luiaussi, une risée.
27 For was not Israel a derision unto thee? was he found among thieves? for since thou spakest of him, thou skippedst for joy.	27 Israël n'était-il pas pour toi une risée? A-t-il été surpris parmi les voleurs, que tu hoches la têtechaque fois que tu parles de lui?
28 O ye that dwell in Moab, leave the cities, and dwell in the rock, and be like the dove that maketh her nest in the sides of the hole's mouth.	28 "Abandonnez les villes, installez-vous dans les rochers, habitants de Moab! Imitez le pigeon quifait son nid aux parois d'une gorge béante!"
29 We have heard the pride of Moab, (he is exceeding proud) his loftiness, and his arrogancy, and his pride, and the haughtiness of his heart.	29 Nous avons appris l'orgueil de Moab, son arrogance excessive: quelle superbe! quel orgueil!quelle arrogance! quel coeur altier! --
30 I know his wrath, saith the LORD; but it shall not be so; his lies shall not so effect it.	30 Je connais bien sa présomption -- oracle de Yahvé -- son bavardage sans consistance, ses actessans consistance! --
31 Therefore will I howl for Moab, and I will cry out for all Moab; mine heart shall mourn for the men of Kir-heres.	31 Aussi je me lamente sur Moab, sur Moab tout entier, j'élève mon cri; on gémit sur les gens deQir-Hérès.
32 O vine of Sibmah, I will weep for thee with the weeping of Jazer: thy plants are gone over the sea, they reach even to the sea of Jazer: the spoiler is fallen upon thy summer fruits and upon thy vintage.	32 Plus que sur Yazèr, je pleure sur toi, vignoble de Sibma. Tes sarments s'étendaient au-delà de lamer, ils atteignaient jusqu'à Yazèr. Sur ta vendange et ta récolte est tombé le dévastateur.
33 And joy and gladness is taken from the plentiful field, and from the land of Moab; and I have caused wine to fail from the winepresses: none shall tread with shouting; their shouting shall be no shouting.	33 L'allégresse et la gaîté ont disparu des vergers et de la terre de Moab. J'ai tari le vin des cuves, lefouleur ne foule plus, le cri de joie ne résonne plus.
34 From the cry of Heshbon even unto Elealeh, and even unto Jahaz, have they uttered their voice, from Zoar even unto Horonaim, as an heifer of three years old: for the waters also of Nimrim shall be desolate.	34 Les cris de Heshbôn et de Eléalé vont jusqu'à Yahaç. On élève la voix de Coar jusqu'àHoronayim et à Eglat-Shelishiyya, car même les eaux de Nimrim deviennent un lieu désolé.
35 Moreover I will cause to cease in Moab, saith the LORD, him that offereth in the high places, and him that burneth incense to his gods.	35 Et je ferai disparaître en Moab -- oracle de Yahvé -- celui qui fait une offrande sur le haut lieu etcelui qui encense ses dieux.
36 Therefore mine heart shall sound for Moab like pipes, and mine heart shall sound like pipes for the men of Kir-heres: because the riches that he hath gotten are perished.	36 Aussi mon coeur hulule sur Moab à la manière des flûtes; mon coeur hulule sur les gens de Qir-Hérès à la manière des flûtes; parce qu'il est perdu, le trésor amassé!
37 For every head shall be bald, and every beard clipped: upon all the hands shall be cuttings, and upon the loins sackcloth.	37 Oui, toute tête est rasée, toute barbe coupée, à toutes les mains il y a des incisions, sur tous lesreins un sac!
38 There shall be lamentation generally upon all the housetops of Moab, and in the streets thereof: for I have broken Moab like a vessel wherein is no pleasure, saith the LORD.	38 Sur toutes les terrasses de Moab et sur toutes ses places, ce n'est qu'une lamentation, parce quej'ai brisé Moab comme un vase de rebut, oracle de Yahvé.
39 They shall howl, saying, How is it broken down! how hath Moab turned the back with shame! so shall Moab be a derision and a dismaying to all them about him.	39 Comme il a été détruit! Gémissez! Comme Moab, honteusement, a tourné le dos! Moab estdevenu un objet de risée et d'épouvante pour tous ses voisins.
40 For thus saith the LORD; Behold, he shall fly as an eagle, and shall spread his wings over Moab.	40 Car ainsi parle Yahvé: (Voici comme un aigle qui plane et va déployer ses ailes sur Moab.)
41 Kerioth is taken, and the strong holds are surprised, and the mighty men's hearts in Moab at that day shall be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.	41 Les villes sont prises, les forteresses enlevées. (Et le coeur des guerriers de Moab, en ce jour-là,sera pareil au coeur d'une femme en travail.)
42 And Moab shall be destroyed from being a people, because he hath magnified himself against the LORD.	42 Moab, exterminé, cesse d'être un peuple, pour s'être dressé contre Yahvé.
43 Fear, and the pit, and the snare, shall be upon thee, O inhabitant of Moab, saith the LORD.	43 Frayeur, fosse, filet, pour toi, habitant de Moab! Oracle de Yahvé.
44 He that fleeth from the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that getteth up out of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for I will bring upon it, even upon Moab, the year of their visitation, saith the LORD.	44 Qui fuira loin de la frayeur tombera dans la fosse, et qui remontera de la fosse sera pris dans lefilet. Oui, je vais amener tout cela sur Moab, l'année de leur châtiment, oracle de Yahvé.
45 They that fled stood under the shadow of Heshbon because of the force: but a fire shall come forth out of Heshbon, and a flame from the midst of Sihon, and shall devour the corner of Moab, and the crown of the head of the tumultuous ones.	45 A l'abri de Heshbôn ont fait halte les fuyards à bout de force. Mais un feu est sorti de Heshbôn,une flamme du palais de Sihôn, qui a dévoré les tempes de Moab et le crâne d'une engeance de tumulte.
46 Woe be unto thee, O Moab! the people of Chemosh perisheth: for thy sons are taken captives, and thy daughters captives.	46 Malheur à toi, Moab! Il est perdu, le peuple de Kemosh! Car tes fils sont emmenés en exil et tesfilles en captivité.
47 Yet will I bring again the captivity of Moab in the latter days, saith the LORD. Thus far is the judgment of Moab.	47 Mais je ramènerai les captifs de Moab, à la fin des jours, oracle de Yahvé. Jusqu'ici le jugementde Moab.
