1 And Israel took his journey with all that he had, and came to Beer-sheba, and offered sacrifices unto the God of his father Isaac.	1 Israele adunque partì con tutto quello che aveva, e giunse al Pozzo del giuramento, ove offrì sacrifizi al Dio del suo padre Isacco.
2 And God spake unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I.	2 E nella visione della notte sentì Dio che lo chiamava e gli diceva: « Giacobbe, Giacobbe! » Avendo egli risposto: « Eccomi »,
3 And he said, I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation:	3 Dio gli di se: « Io sono il fortissimo Dio di tuo padre: non temere: va pure in Egitto, chè là ti farò diventare una grande nazione.
4 I will go down with thee into Egypt; and I will also surely bring thee up again: and Joseph shall put his hand upon thine eyes.	4 Io vi discenderò teco, e di là ti ricondurrò quando ritornerai, e Giuseppe colle sue mani ti chiuderà gli occhi ».
5 And Jacob rose up from Beer-sheba: and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.	5 E Giacobbe partì dal Pozzo del giuramento, e i suoi figli lo misero, coi bambini e colle donne, sui carri mandati da Faraone, per trasportare il vecchio
6 And they took their cattle, and their goods, which they had gotten in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt, Jacob, and all his seed with him:	6 e quanto possedeva nella terra di Canaan. Cosi egli giunse in Egitto con tutta la sua stirpe:
7 His sons, and his sons' sons with him, his daughters, and his sons' daughters, and all his seed brought he with him into Egypt.	7 fìgli, nipoti, figlie e tutta la sua discendenza.
8 And these are the names of the children of Israel, which came into Egypt, Jacob and his sons: Reuben, Jacob's firstborn.	8 Ecco i nomi dei figli d'Israele che entrarono in Egitto: Giacobbe e i suoi figlioli. Il primogenito, Ruben.
9 And the sons of Reuben; Hanoch, and Phallu, and Hezron, and Carmi.	9 I figli di Ruben: Enoc, Fallu, Hesron e Carmi.
10 And the sons of Simeon; Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanitish woman.	10 I figli di Simeone: Iamuel, Iamini, Ahod, Iachin, Sohar e Saul, figlio di una Cananea.
11 And the sons of Levi; Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.	11 I figli di Levi: Gerson, Gaat e Merari,
12 And the sons of Judah; Er, and Onan, and Shelah, and Pharez, and Zerah: but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. And the sons of Pharez were Hezron and Hamul.	12 I figli di Giuda: Er, Onan, Sola, Fares e Zara; ma Er ed Onan morirono nella terra di Canaan. I figli di Fares furono Hesron e Hamul.
13 And the sons of Issachar; Tola, and Phuvah, and Job, and Shimron.	13 I figli di Issacar: Tela, Fua, Iob e Semron.
14 And the sons of Zebulun; Sered, and Elon, and Jahleel.	14 I figli di Zàbulon: Sared, Elon e Lahelel.
15 These be the sons of Leah, which she bare unto Jacob in Padan-aram, with his daughter Dinah: all the souls of his sons and his daughters were thirty and three.	15 Questi sono i figli di Lia, che essa partorì nella Mesopotamia di Siria, oltre Dina sua figlia. I suoi figli e le sue figlie giungevano a trentatrè persone.
16 And the sons of Gad; Ziphion, and Haggi, Shuni, and Ezbon, Eri, and Arodi, and Areli.	16 I figli di Gad: Sefion, Haggi, Suni, Esebon, Eri, Arodi, Areli.
17 And the sons of Asher; Jimnah, and Ishuah, and Isui, and Beriah, and Serah their sister: and the sons of Beriah; Heber, and Malchiel.	17 I figli di Aser: Iamne, Iesua, Iessui, Beria e Sara loro sorella. I figli di Beria: Eber e Melchiel.
18 These are the sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to Leah his daughter, and these she bare unto Jacob, even sixteen souls.	18 Questi sono i figli di Zelfa che Labano aveva data a sua figlia Lia, ed essa li partorì a Giacobbe: in tutto sedici persone.
19 The sons of Rachel Jacob's wife; Joseph, and Benjamin.	19 I figli di Rachele, moglie di Giacobbe: Giuseppe e Beniamino.
20 And unto Joseph in the land of Egypt were born Manasseh and Ephraim, which Asenath the daughter of Poti-pherah priest of On bare unto him.	20 A Giuseppe, nel paese d'Egitto, nacquero i figli Manasse ed Efraim, partoritigli da Asenet, figlia di Putifare sacerdote di Eliopoli.
21 And the sons of Benjamin were Belah, and Becher, and Ashbel, Gera, and Naaman, Ehi, and Rosh, Muppim, and Huppim, and Ard.	21 I figli di Beniamino: Bela, Becor, Asbel, Gera, Naaman, Echi, Ros, Mofìm, Ofìm e Ared.
22 These are the sons of Rachel, which were born to Jacob: all the souls were fourteen.	22 Questi sono i figli di Rachele che nacquero a Giacobbe: in tutto quattordici persone.
23 And the sons of Dan; Hushim.	23 I figli di Dan: Husim.
24 And the sons of Naphtali; Jahzeel, and Guni, and Jezer, and Shillem.	24 I figli di Nettali: Lasiel, Guni, Leser e Sallem.
25 These are the sons of Bilhah, which Laban gave unto Rachel his daughter, and she bare these unto Jacob: all the souls were seven.	25 Questi sono i figli di Baia, data da Labano a sua figlia Rachele: ed essa li partorì a Giacobbe: in tutto sette persone.
26 All the souls that came with Jacob into Egypt, which came out of his loins, besides Jacob's sons' wives, all the souls were threescore and six;	26 Tutte le persone che andarono in Egitto con Giacobbe, e discesero da lui, tolte le mogli dei suoi figli, eran sessantasei.
27 And the sons of Joseph, which were born him in Egypt, were two souls: all the souls of the house of Jacob, which came into Egypt, were threescore and ten.	27 0r essendo due i figli nati a Giuseppe in Egitto, tutte le persone della casa di Giacobbe, che entrarono in Egitto, furono settanta.
28 And he sent Judah before him unto Joseph, to direct his face unto Goshen; and they came into the land of Goshen.	28 0r Giacobbe mandò Giuda davanti a sé a Giuseppe, per avvisarlo che gli venisse incontro in Gessen.
29 And Joseph made ready his chariot, and went up to meet Israel his father, to Goshen, and presented himself unto him; and he fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while.	29 E quando vi fu arrivato, Giuseppe, fatto attaccare il suo cocchio, andò incontro al padre in Gessen, e quando lo vide si abbandonò sul collo di lui, lo abbracciò e pianse.
30 And Israel said unto Joseph, Now let me die, since I have seen thy face, because thou art yet alive.	30 E il padre disse a Giuseppe: « Ora posso morir contento, perchè ho veduto la tua faccia e ti lascio dopo di me! »
31 And Joseph said unto his brethren, and unto his father's house, I will go up, and shew Pharaoh, and say unto him, My brethren, and my father's house, which were in the land of Canaan, are come unto me;	31 Poi Giuseppe disse ai suoi fratelli e a tutta la famiglia di suo padre: « Andrò ad informare Faraone, e gli dirò: I miei fratelli e la famiglia di mio padre, che erano nella terra di Canaan, sono venuti da me.
32 And the men are shepherds, for their trade hath been to feed cattle; and they have brought their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have.	32 Essi sono pastori ed attendono all'allevamento del bestiame: han quindi condotto seco i greggi, gli armenti e quanto potevano avere.
33 And it shall come to pass, when Pharaoh shall call you, and shall say, What is your occupation?	33 Or quando il re vi farà chiamare e vi dirà: Qual mestiere fate?
34 That ye shall say, Thy servants' trade hath been about cattle from our youth even until now, both we, and also our fathers: that ye may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination unto the Egyptians.	34 risponderete: Noi tuoi servi siamo pastori dalla nostra infanzia fino ad oggi, e come noi i nostri padri. Direte così, per potere abitare nella terra di Gessen ; perchè gli Egiziani abominano tutti i pastori di pecore ».
