1 And the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the Lord after the death of Aod,	1 Après la mort d'Ehud les Israélites recommencèrent à faire ce qui est mal aux yeux de Yahvé,
2 And the Lord delivered them up into the hands of Jaban king of Chanaan, who reigned in Asor: and he had a general of his army named Sisara, and he dwelt in Haroseth of the Gentiles.	2 et Yahvé les livra à Yabîn, roi de Canaan, qui régnait à Haçor. Le chef de son armée était Sisera, quihabitait à Haroshèt-ha-Goyim.
3 And the children of Israel cried to the Lord: for he had nine hundred chariots set with scythes, and for twenty years had grievously oppressed them.	3 Alors les Israélites poussèrent des gémissements vers Yahvé. Car Yabîn avait 900 chars de fer et ilavait opprimé durement les Israélites pendant vingt ans.
4 And there was at that time Debbora a prophetess the wife of Lapidoth, who judged the people,	4 En ce temps-là Débora, une prophétesse, femme de Lappidot, jugeait Israël.
5 And she sat under a palm tree, which was called by her name, between Rama and Bethel in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for all judgment.	5 Elle siégeait sous le palmier de Débora entre Rama et Béthel, dans la montagne d'Ephraïm, et lesIsraélites allaient vers elle pour obtenir justice.
6 And she sent and called Barac the son of Abinoem out of Cedes in Nephtali: and she said to him: The Lord God of Israel hath commanded thee: Go, and lead an army to mount Thabor, and thou shalt take with thee ten thousand fighting men of the children of Nephtali, and of the children of Zabulon:	6 Elle envoya chercher Baraq, fils d'Abinoam de Qédesh en Nephtali et lui dit: "Yahvé, Dieu d'Israël,n'a-t-il pas ordonné: Va, marche vers le mont Tabor et prends avec toi 10.000 hommes des fils de Nephtali et desfils de Zabulon.
7 And I will bring unto thee in the place of the torrent Cison, Sisara the general of Jabin's army, and his chariots, and all his multitude, and will deliver them into thy hand.	7 J'attirerai vers toi au torrent du Qishôn Sisera, le chef de l'armée de Yabîn, avec ses chars et sestroupes, et je le livrerai entre tes mains?"
8 And Barac said to her: If thou wilt come with me, I will go: if thou wilt not come with me, I will not go.	8 Baraq lui répondit: "Si tu viens avec moi, j'irai, mais si tu ne viens pas avec moi, je n'irai pas, car je nesais pas en quel jour l'Ange de Yahvé me donnera le succès" --
9 She said to him: I will go indeed with thee, but at this time the victory shall not be attributed to thee, because Sisara shall be delivered into the hand of a woman. Debbora therefore arose, and went with Barac to Cedes.	9 "J'irai donc avec toi, lui dit-elle; seulement, dans la voie où tu marches, l'honneur ne sera pas pour toi,car c'est entre les mains d'une femme que Yahvé livrera Sisera." Alors Débora se leva et, avec Baraq, elle serendit à Qédesh.
10 And he called unto him Zabulon and Nepbtali, and went up with ten thousand fighting men, having Debbora in his company.	10 Baraq convoqua Zabulon et Nephtali. 10.000 hommes le suivirent et Débora monta avec lui.
11 Now Haber the Cinite had some time before departed from the rest of the Cinites his brethren the sons of Hobab, the kinsman of Moses: and had pitched his tents unto the valley which is called Sellnim, and was near Cedes.	11 Héber, le Qénite, s'était séparé de la tribu de Qayîn et du clan des fils de Hobab, beau-père de Moïse;il avait planté sa tente près du chêne de Caanannim, non loin de Qédesh.
12 And it was told Sisara, that Barac the son of Ablinoem was gone up to mount Thabor:	12 On annonça à Sisera que Baraq, fils d'Abinoam, était monté sur le mont Tabor.
13 And he gathered together his nine hundred chariots armed with scythes, and all his army from Haroseth of the Gentiles to the torrent Cison.	13 Sisera convoqua tous ses chars, 900 chars de fer, et toutes les troupes qu'il avait, de Haroshèt-ha-Goyim au torrent du Qishôn.
14 And Debbora said to Barac: Arise, for this is the day wherein the Lord hath delivered Sisara into thy hands: behold he is thy leader. And Barac went down from mount Thabor, and ten thousand fighting men with him.	14 Débora dit à Baraq: "Lève-toi, car voici le jour où Yahvé a livré Sisera entre tes mains. Oui! Yahvéne marche-t-il pas devant toi?" Et Baraq descendit du mont Tabor avec 10.000 hommes derrière lui.
15 And the Lord struck a terror into Sisara, and all his chariots, and all his multitude, with the edge of the sword, at the sight of Barac, insomuch that Sisara leaping down from off his chariot, fled away on foot.	15 Yahvé frappa de panique Sisera, tous ses chars et toute son armée devant Baraq. Sisera, descendantde son char, s'enfuit à pied.
16 And Barac pursued after the fleeing chariots and the army unto Haroseth of the Gentiles, and all the multitude of the enemies was utterly destroyed.	16 Baraq poursuivit les chars et l'armée jusqu'à Haroshèt-ha-Goyim. Toute l'armée de Sisera tomba sousle tranchant de l'épée et pas un homme n'échappa.
17 But Sisara fleeing came to the tent of Jahel the wife of Haber the Cinite, for there was peace between Jabin the king of Asor, and the house of Haber the Cinite.	17 Sisera cependant s'enfuyait à pied dans la direction de la tente de Yaël, femme de Héber le Qénite,car la paix régnait entre Yabîn, roi de Haçor, et la maison de Héber le Qénite.
18 And Jahel went forth to meet Sisara, and said to him: Come in to me, my lord, come in, fear not. He went in to her tent, and being covered by her with a cloak,	18 Yaël, sortant au-devant de Sisera, lui dit: "Arrête-toi, Monseigneur, arrête-toi chez moi. Ne crainsrien!" Il s'arrêta chez elle sous la tente et elle le recouvrit d'un tapis.
19 Said to her: Give me, I beseech thee, a little water, for I am very thirsty. She opened a bottle of milk, and gave him to drink, and covered him.	19 Il lui dit: "Donne-moi à boire un peu d'eau, je te prie, car j'ai soif." Elle ouvrit l'outre où était le lait,le fit boire et le recouvrit de nouveau.
20 And Sisara said to her: Stand before the door of the tent, and when any shall come and inquire of thee, saying: Is there any man here? thou shalt say: There is none.	20 Il lui dit: "Tiens-toi à l'entrée de la tente, et si quelqu'un vient, t'interroge et dit: Y a-t-il un hommeici? Tu répondras: Non."
21 So Jahel Haber's wife took a nail of the tent, and taking also a hammer: and going in softly, and with silence, she put the nail upon the temples of his head, and striking it With the hammer, drove it through his brain fast into the ground: and so passing from deep sleep to death, he fainted away and died.	21 Mais Yaël, femme de Héber, prit un piquet de la tente, saisit un marteau dans sa main et,s'approchant de lui doucement, elle lui enfonça dans la tempe le piquet, qui se planta en terre. Il dormaitprofondément, épuisé de fatigue, c'est ainsi qu'il mourut.
22 And behold Barac came pursuing after Sisara: and Jahel went out to meet him, and said to him: Come, and I will shew thee, the man whom thou seekest. And when he came into her tent, be saw Sisara lying dead, and the nail fastened in his temples.	22 Et voici que Baraq survint, poursuivant Sisera. Yaël sortit au-devant de lui: "Viens, lui dit-elle, et jete ferai voir l'homme que tu cherches." Il entra chez elle: Sisera gisait mort, le piquet dans la tempe.
23 So God that day humbled Jabin the king of Chanaan before the children of Israel:	23 Dieu humilia donc en ce jour Yabîn, roi de Canaan, devant les Israélites.
24 Who grew daily stronger, and with a mighty hand overpowered Jabin king of Chanaan, till they quite destroyed him.	24 La main des Israélites s'appesantit de plus en plus durement sur Yabîn, roi de Canaan, jusqu'à cequ'ils aient supprimé Yabîn, roi de Canaan.
