1 These things Jesus spoke, and lifting up his eyes to heaven, he said: Father, the hour is come, glorify thy Son, that thy Son may glorify thee.	1 Telles furent les paroles de Jésus. Ensuite il leva les yeux vers le ciel et dit: “Père, l’heure est arrivée: glorifie ton Fils pour que le Fils te glorifie!
2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he may give eternal life to all whom thou hast given him.	2 “Tu lui as donné autorité sur tout être de chair et tu veux qu’il donne la vie éternelle à tout ce que tu lui as donné.
3 Now this is eternal life: That they may know thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.	3 Et la vie éternelle, c’est qu’ils te connaissent, toi, le Dieu Unique et Vrai, et celui que tu as envoyé, Jésus, le Christ.
4 I have glorified thee on the earth; I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.	4 “Je t’ai glorifié sur la terre, j’ai achevé l’œuvre que tu m’avais donné à faire.
5 And now glorify thou me, O Father, with thyself, with the glory which I had, before the world was, with thee.	5 Et maintenant, Père, glorifie-moi auprès de toi, donne-moi cette gloire que j’avais auprès de toi dès avant que le monde existe.
6 I have manifested thy name to the men whom thou hast given me out of the world. Thine they were, and to me thou gavest them; and they have kept thy word.	6 “J’ai révélé aux hommes ton Nom. Je parle de ceux que tu as pris dans le monde pour me les donner. Ils étaient à toi et tu me les as donnés, et ils ont gardé ta parole.
7 Now they have known, that all things which thou hast given me, are from thee:	7 “Maintenant ils connaissent que tout ce que tu m’as donné vient vraiment de toi.
8 Because the words which thou gavest me, I have given to them; and they have received them, and have known in very deed that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.	8 Je leur ai donné le message que tu m’as donné: ils l’ont reçu et ils ont connu que je suis réellement sorti de toi, et ils ont cru que tu m’as envoyé.
9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them whom thou hast given me: because they are thine:	9 “C’est pour eux que je prie; je ne prie pas pour le monde, mais pour ceux qui sont à toi et que tu m’as donnés,
10 And all my things are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.	10 car tout ce que j’ai t’appartient et tout ce qui est à toi m’appartient. Je suis glorifié à travers eux.
11 And now I am not in the world, and these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep them in thy name whom thou has given me; that they may be one, as we also are.	11 “Je ne suis plus dans le monde, mais eux restent dans le monde alors que moi je retourne vers toi. Père Saint, garde-les en ton Nom, celui-là même que tu m’as donné, pour qu’ils soient un comme nous.
12 While I was with them, I kept them in thy name. Those whom thou gavest me have I kept; and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition, that the scripture may be fulfilled.	12 “Quand j’étais avec eux, je les gardais en ton Nom, car tu me l’as donné. J’en ai pris soin, et aucun d’eux ne s’est perdu, sinon celui qui était déjà perdu: en cela aussi l’Écriture devait se vérifier.
13 And now I come to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy filled in themselves.	13 “Mais maintenant je dis cela dans le monde avant d’aller vers toi, pour que ma joie soit tout entière en eux.
14 I have given them thy word, and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world; as I also am not of the world.	14 Je leur ai donné ta Parole et le monde les a détestés, car ils ne sont pas du monde, comme moi-même je ne suis pas du monde.
15 I pray not that thou shouldst take them out of the world, but that thou shouldst keep them from evil.	15 Je ne te demande pas de les enlever du monde mais de les garder du Mauvais.
16 They are not of the world, as I also am not of the world.	16 “Ils ne sont pas du monde, comme moi-même je ne suis pas du monde.
17 Sanctify them in truth. Thy word is truth.	17 Rends-les saints grâce à la Vérité: ta Parole est Vérité.
18 As thou hast sent me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.	18 “Comme tu m’as envoyé dans le monde, moi aussi je les envoie dans le monde,
19 And for them do I sanctify myself, that they also may be sanctified in truth.	19 et maintenant je me consacre pour eux, de façon qu’eux aussi soient consacrés dans la Vérité.
20 And not for them only do I pray, but for them also who through their word shall believe in me;	20 “Je ne prie pas seulement pour eux mais pour ceux qui croiront en moi grâce à leur parole.
21 That they all may be one, as thou, Father, in me, and I in thee; that they also may be one in us; that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.	21 Qu’ils soient tous Un, comme toi, Père, tu es en moi et moi en toi. Qu’ils soient eux aussi en nous, pour que le monde croie que tu m’as envoyé.
22 And the glory which thou hast given me, I have given to them; that they may be one, as we also are one:	22 “Je leur ai donné la Gloire que tu m’as donnée, pour qu’ils soient Un comme nous sommes Un:
23 I in them, and thou in me; that they may be made perfect in one: and the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast also loved me.	23 moi en eux, et toi en moi: ainsi ils atteindront l’unité parfaite, et le monde connaîtra que tu m’as envoyé et que tu les as aimés comme tu m’as aimé.
24 Father, I will that where I am, they also whom thou hast given me may be with me; that they may see my glory which thou hast given me, because thou hast loved me before the creation of the world.	24 “Père, si tu me les as donnés, je veux qu’ils soient avec moi là où je suis: je veux qu’ils voient ma Gloire, que déjà tu me donnes parce que tu m’as aimé dès avant la fondation du monde.
25 Just Father, the world hath not known thee; but I have known thee: and these have known that thou hast sent me.	25 “Père juste, le monde ne t’a pas connu, mais moi je t’ai connu, et ceux-ci ont reconnu que tu m’as envoyé.
26 And I have made known thy name to them, and will make it known; that the love wherewith thou hast loved me, may be in them, and I in them.	26 Je leur ai fait connaître ton Nom, et je le ferai encore, pour que l’amour que tu as pour moi soit en eux, et que je sois moi aussi en eux.”
