1 These are the generations of Aaron and Moses in the day that the Lord spoke to Moses in mount Sinai.	1 Ось потомки Арона та Мойсея тоді, коли Господь розмовляв з Мойсеєм на Синай-горі.
2 And these the names of the sons of Aaron: his firstborn Nadab, then Abiu, and Eleazar, and Ithamar.	2 Ось імена синів Арона: Надав, первенець, Авігу, Єлеазар та Ітамар.
3 These the names of the sons of Aaron the priests that were anointed, and whose hands were filled and consecrated, to do the functions of priesthood.	3 Це імена синів Арона, священиків, що були помазані та висвячені, щоб служили священну службу.
4 Now Nadab and Abiu died, without children, when they offered strange fire before the Lord, in the desert of Sinai: and Eleazar and Ithamar performed the priestly office in the presence of Aaron their father.	4 Надав та Авігу вмерли перед обличчям Божим, коли приносили невідповідний вогонь перед Господом у Синай-пустині; дітей же в них не було. Тож служити священиками залишились Єлеазар та Ітамар, підлеглі Аронові, батькові своєму.
5 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:	5 Господь промовив до Мойсея:
6 Bring the tribe of Levi, and make them stand in the sight of Aaron the priest to minister to him, and let them watch,	6 «Вели колінові Леві приступити, щоб стояли коло священика Арона та услуговували йому.
7 And observe whatsoever appertaineth to the service of the multitude before the tabernacle of the testimony,	7 Вони дбатимуть про все, що йому потрібно, йому та всій громаді при наметі зборів, виконуючи слугування при житлі.
8 And let them keep the vessels of the tabernacle, serving in the ministry thereof.	8 Вони доглядатимуть усе приладдя в наметі зборів і дбатимуть про те, що потрібно для синів Ізраїля, виконуючи слугування при житлі.
9 And thou shalt give the Levites for a gift,	9 Левітів віддаси Аронові та синам його; з-між синів Ізраїля вони будуть цілковито віддані йому.
10 To Aaron and to his sons, to whom they are delivered by the children of Israel. But thou shalt appoint Aaron and his sons over the service of priesthood. The stranger that approacheth to minister, shall be put to death.	10 Арона ж та синів його поставиш, щоб пильнували священичу службу; коли ж сторонній хтось приступить, то буде покараний смертю.»
11 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying :	11 Господь промовив до Мойсея:
12 I have taken the Levites from the children of Israel, for every firstborn that openeth the womb among the children of Israel, and the Levites shall be mine.	12 «Ось я взяв левітів з-поміж синів Ізраїля замість усіх первістків, що їх першими приводить мати між синами Ізраїля, і будуть левіти моїми.
13 For every firstborn is mine: since I struck the firstborn in the land of Egypt: I have sanctified to myself whatsoever is firstborn in Israel both of man and beast, they are mine: I am the Lord.	13 Мій бо всякий первенець; з того дня, коли я повбивав усіх первістків в Єгипетській землі, я присвятив собі всіх первістків в Ізраїлі, від людини до скотини: для мене вони будуть: я — Господь.»
14 And the Lord spoke to Moses in the desert of Sinai, saying:	14 Господь промовив до Мойсея в Синай-пустині:
15 Number the sons of Levi by the houses of their fathers and their families, every male from one month and upward.	15 «Перелічи синів Леві за батьківськими домами їхніми, за їхніми родинами, рахуючи всіх чоловічої статі від місяця і вище.»
16 Moses numbered them as the Lord had commanded.	16 І перелічив їх Мойсей, за словом Господнім, як було йому звелено.
17 And there were found sons of Levi by their names, Gerson and Caath and Merari.	17 Сини Леві, за їхніми йменнями, були такі: Гершон, Кегат і Мерарі.
18 The sons of Gerson: Lebni and Semei.	18 Імена синів Гершона, за родинами їхніми, були такі: Лівні та Шімі.
19 The sons of Caath: Amram, and Jesaar, Hebron and Oziel:	19 Сини Кегата, за їхніми родинами: Амрам, Іцгар, Хеврон та Узієл.
20 The sons of Merari: Moholi and Musi.	20 Сини Мерарі, за їхніми родинами: Махлі та Муші. Це родини левітів, за батьківськими домами їхніми.
21 Of Gerson were two families, the Lebnites, and the Semeites:	21 Від Гершона походить родина Лівніїв та родина Шіміїв: це рід Гершоніїв.
22 Of which were numbered, people of the male sex from one month and upward, seven thousand five hundred.	22 Нараховано їх було, числивши всіх чоловічої статі від одного місяця й вище, 7 500.
23 These shall pitch behind the tabernacle on the west,	23 Родини Гершоніїв отаборилися за храминою на захід.
24 Under their prince Eliasaph the son of Lael.	24 Вождем батьківського дому Гершоніїв був Еліясаф, син Лаела.
25 And their charge shall be in the tabernacle of the covenant:	25 Сини Гершона мали доглядати в наметі зборів храмину й намет і покриття його та завісу коло входу до намету зборів,
26 The tabernacle itself and the cover thereof, the hanging that is drawn before the doors of the tabernacle of the covenant, and the curtains of the court: the hanging also that is hanged in the entry of the court of the tabernacle, and whatsoever belongeth to the rite of the altar, the cords of the tabernacle, and all the furniture thereof.	26 і запони у дворі, і завісу при вході до двору, що навколо храмини та жертовника, і його мотуззя на всяку його потребу.
27 Of the kindred of Caath come the families of the Amramites and Jesaarites and Hebronites and Ozielites. These are the families of the Caathites reckoned up by their names:	27 Від Кегата походить родина Амраміїв, родина Іцгаріїв, родина Хевроніїв та родина Узієліїв. Це рід Кегатіїв.
28 All of the male sex from one month and upward, eight thousand six hundred: they shall have the guard of the sanctuary,	28 Число всіх чоловічої статі, від одного місяця і старше, 8 600; вони пильнували службу при святині.
29 And shall camp on the south side.	29 Родини синів Кегата отаборилися з боку храмини, на південь.
30 And their prince shall be Elisaphan the son of Oziel:	30 Вождем батьківського дому в родинах Кегатіїв був Еліцафан, син Узієла.
31 And they shall keep the ark, and the table and the candlestick, the altars, and the vessels of the sanctuary, wherewith they minister, and the veil, and all the furniture of this kind.	31 Вони мали доглядати ковчег і стіл, і світильник, і жертовники, і посуд у святині, що була для служби, і завісу, і всяку службу при них виконувати.
32 And the prince of the princes of the Levites, Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, shall be over them that watch for the guard of the sanctuary.	32 Вождем над вождями левітів був Єлеазар, син Арона священика; був він головним доглядачем над тими, хто були на варті при святині.
33 And of Merari are the families of the Moholites, and Musites, reckoned up by their names :	33 Від Мерарі походять родина Махліїв та родина Мушіїв; це родини Мераріїв.
34 All of the male kind from one month and upward, six thousand two hundred.	34 Нараховано їх було, числивши всіх чоловічої статі, від одного місяця й вище, 6 200.
35 Their prince Suriel the son of Abihaiel: they shall camp on the north side.	35 Вождем батьківського дому в родинах Мераріїв був Цурієл, син Авіхаїла. Вони отаборилися з боку храмини на північ.
36 Under their custody shall be the boards of the tabernacle, and the bars, and the pillars and their sockets, and all things that pertain to this kind of service:	36 Сини Мерарі мали доглядати дошки храмини та засуви її, і стовпи, і підніжки, і ввесь посуд її, і всяку роботу при них виконувати,
37 And the pillars of the court round about with their sockets, and the pins with their cords.	37 і стовпи навколо двору, і підніжки їхні, і кілки, і мотуззя їхнє.
38 Before the tabernacle of the covenant, that is to say on the east side, shall Moses and Aaron camp, with their sons, having the custody of the sanctuary, in the midst of the children of Israel. What stranger soever cometh unto it, shall be put to death.	38 Спереду храмини, перед наметом зборів, на схід сонця, отаборились Мойсей і Арон та сини його, що були на варті коло святині, замість синів Ізраїля. Коли ж сторонній якийсь приступив би, то мусів умерти.
39 All the Levites, that Moses and Aaron numbered according to the precept of the Lord, by their families, of the male kind from one month and upward, were twenty-two thousand.	39 Усіх левітів, що їх на повеління Господнє порахував Мойсей з Ароном, числивши за родинами їхніми, усіх чоловічої статі, від одного місяця й вище, було разом 22 000.
40 And the Lord said to Moses: Number the firstborn of the male sex of the children of Israel, from one month and upward, and thou shalt take the sum of them.	40 Господь сказав Мойсеєві: «Перелічи всіх первістків чоловічої статі в синів Ізраїля, від одного місяця й вище та почисли ймення їхні.
41 And thou shalt take the Levites to me for all the firstborn of the children of Israel, I am the Lord: and their cattle for all the firstborn of the cattle of the children of Israel:	41 Візьмеш левітів для мене — я Господь — замість усіх первенців синів Ізраїля і скотину в левітів замість усіх первістків із скотини синів Ізраїля.»
42 Moses reckoned up, as the Lord had commanded, the firstborn of the children of Israel:	42 І перелічив Мойсей, як заповів йому Господь, усіх первенців синів Ізраїля.
43 And the males by their names, from one month and upward, were twenty-two thousand two hundred and seventy-three.	43 І було пораховано всіх первенців чоловічої статі від одного місяця й вище, за числом імен їхніх, 22 273.
44 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saving:	44 Господь промовив до Мойсея:
45 Take the Levites for the firstborn of the children of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites for their cattle, and the Levites shall be mine. I am the Lord.	45 «Візьми левітів замість усіх первенців синів Ізраїля і скотину левітів замість їхньої скотини: левіти будуть моїми: я — Господь.
46 But for the price of the two hundred and seventy-three, of the firstborn of the children of Israel, that exceed the number of the Levites,	46 І як викуп за тих 273 первістки з синів Ізраїля, що їх більше від левітів,
47 Thou shalt take five sides for every head, according to the weight of the sanctuary. A sicle hath twenty obols.	47 візьмеш по 5 шеклів за голову; по шеклю святині візьмеш; 20 гер на 1 шекель.
48 And then shalt give the money to Aaron and his sons, the price of them that are above.	48 І даси гроші як викуп за тих, що їх більше над число, Аронові та синам його.»
49 Moses therefore took the money of them that were above, and whom they had redeemed from the Levites,	49 І взяв Мойсей викупні гроші за тих, що були понад число викуплених левітами.
50 For the firstborn of the children of Israel, one thousand three hundred and sixty-five sicles, according to the weight of the sanctuary,	50 Від первенців із синів Ізраїля взяв грішми 1365 шеклів, по шеклю святині.
51 And gave it to Aaron and his sons, according to the word that the Lord had commanded him.	51 Мойсей, за наказом Господнім, віддав викупні гроші Аронові та синам його, як заповідав Господь Мойсеєві.
