1 But as Tobias made longer stay upon occasion of the marriage, Tobias his father was solicitous, saying: Why thinkest thou doth my son tarry, or why is he detained there?	1 Or mentre Tobia, a causa delle nozze, tardava, il suo padre Tobia era inquieto e diceva: « Chi sa per qual motivo mio figlio ritardi, e perchè sia trattenuto?
2 Is Gabelus dead, thinkest thou, and no man will pay him the money?	2 Chi sa che non sia morto Gabelo, e che nessuno gli restituisca quel danaro? »
3 And he began to be exceeding sad, both he and Anna his wife with him: and they began both to weep together: because their son did not return to them on the day appointed.	3 E tanto lui che Anna sua moglie, divenuti molto tristi, cominciaron tutti e due a piangere, perchè il loro figlio non tornava nel tempo stabilito.
4 But his mother wept and was quite disconsolate, and said: Woe, woe is me, my son; why did we send thee to go to a strange country, the light of our eyes, the staff of our old age, the comfort of our life, the hope of our posterity?	4 E la sua madre, versando lacrime inconsolabili, diceva: « Ahi, ahi! figlio mio, perchè ti abbiamo mandato così lontano, o luce degli occhi nostri, bastone della nostra vecchiaia, consolazione della nostra vita, speranza della nostra posterità?
5 We having all things together in thee alone, ought not to have let thee go from us.	5 Avendo in te solo ogni cosa, non ti dovevamo mandare lungi da noi ».
6 And Tobias said to her: Hold thy peace, and be not troubled, our son is safe: that man with whom we sent him is very trusty.	6 Tobia le diceva: « Taci, non ti inquietare, che nostro figlio sta bene, ed è molto fedele quell'uomo col quale l'abbiamo mandato ».
7 But she could by no means be comforted, but daily running out looked round about, and went into all the ways by which there seemed any hope he might return, that she might if possible see him coming afar off.	7 Ma essa non poteva darsi pace in nessuna maniera, e ogni giorno andava fuori di casa a guardare da tutte le parti, a girare per tutte le strade per le quali sperava ch'egli ritornasse, per vederlo, se fosse possibile, da lontano.
8 But Raguel said to his son in law: Stay here, and I will send a messenger to Tobias thy father, that thou art in health.	8 Ma Raguele diceva al suo genero: « Resta qui, ed io manderò a dar notizie della tua salute a tuo padre Tobia ».
9 And Tobias said to him: I know that my father and mother now count the days, and their spirit is grievously afflicted within them.	9 Tobia gli rispose: « Io so bene che ora mio padre e mia madre contano i giorni, con l'anima straziata ».
10 And when Raguel had pressed Tobias with many words, and he by no means would hearken to him, he delivered Sara unto him, and half of all his substance in menservants, and womenservants, in cattle, in camels, and in kine, and in much money, and sent him away safe and joyful from him.	10 Raguele, dopo aver fatte molte istanze a Tobia senza poterlo in nessun modo piegare, gli consegnò Sara e la metà di quanto aveva in servi, serve, armenti, cammelli, vacche e gran quantità di danaro, e lo lasciò partire pieno di salute e di contentezza,
11 Saying: The holy angel of the Lord be with you in your journey, and bring you through safe, and that you may find all things well about your parents, and my eyes see your children before I die.	11 dicendo: « L'angelo santo del Signore sia con voi nel viaggio e vi conduca sani e salvi; possiate trovar tutto bene dai vostri genitori, e possano i miei occhi vedere i vostri figli prima di morire ».
12 And the parents taking their daughter kissed her, and let her go:	12 Poi i genitori, abbracciata la loro figlia, la baciarono e la lasciarono partire,
13 Admonishing her to honour her father and mother in law, to love her husband, to take care of the family, to govern the house, and to behave herself irreprehensibly.	13 raccomandandole di onorare i suoceri, d'amare il marito, di ben guidare la famiglia, di governare la casa, di comportarsi in modo da essere irreprensibile.
