Seconda lettera ai Corinzi 2

1 Or io avea determinato in me stesso di non venir di nuovo a voi con tristizia.	1 But I determined this within myself, not to return again to you in sorrow.
2 Perciocchè, se io vi contristo, chi sarà dunque colui che mi rallegrerà, se non colui stesso che sarà stato da me contristato?	2 For if I make you sorrowful, then who is it that can make me glad, except the one who is made sorrowful by me?
3 E quello stesso vi ho io scritto, acciocchè quando verrò, io non abbia tristezza sopra tristezza da coloro, dai quali io dovea avere allegrezza; confidandomi di tutti voi, che la mia allegrezza è quella di tutti voi.	3 And so, I wrote this same thing to you, so that I might not, when I arrive, add sorrow to sorrow for those with whom I ought to rejoice, having confidence in you in all things, so that my joy may be entirely yours.
4 Perciocchè di grande afflizione, e distretta di cuore, io vi scrissi con molte lagrime; non acciocchè foste contristati, ma acciocchè conosceste la carità, che io ho abbondantissima inverso voi	4 For with much tribulation and anguish of heart, I wrote to you with many tears: not so that you would be sorrowful, but so that you might know the charity that I have more abundantly toward you.
5 E se alcuno ha contristato, non ha contristato me, anzi in parte, per non aggravarlo, voi tutti.	5 But if anyone has brought sorrow, he has not sorrowed me. Yet, for my part, this is so that I might not burden all of you.
6 Al tale basta quella riprensione, che gli è stata fatta dalla raunanza.	6 Let this rebuke be sufficient for someone like this, for it has been brought by many.
7 Talchè, in contrario, più tosto vi convien perdonargli, e consolarlo; che talora quell’uomo non sia assorto dalla troppa tristezza.	7 So then, to the contrary, you should be more forgiving and consoling, lest perhaps someone like this may be overwhelmed with excessive sorrow.
8 Perciò, io vi prego di ratificare inverso lui la carità.	8 Because of this, I beg you to confirm your charity toward him.
9 Perciocchè a questo fine ancora vi ho scritto, acciocchè io conosca la prova di voi, se siete ubbidienti ad ogni cosa.	9 It was for this reason, also, that I wrote, so that I might know, by testing you, whether you would be obedient in all things.
10 Or a chi voi perdonate alcuna cosa, perdono io ancora; perciocchè io altresì, se ho perdonata cosa alcuna, a chi l’ho perdonata, l’ho fatto per amor vostro, nel cospetto di Cristo, acciocchè noi non siamo soverchiati da Satana.	10 But anyone whom you have forgiven of anything, I also forgive. And then, too, anyone I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, it was done in the person of Christ for your sakes,
11 Perciocchè noi non ignoriamo le sue macchinazioni	11 so that we would not be circumvented by Satan. For we are not ignorant of his intentions.
12 Ora, essendo venuto in Troas per l’Evangelo di Cristo, ed essendomi aperta una porta nel Signore, non ho avuta alcuna requie nello spirito mio, per non avervi trovato Tito, mio fratello.	12 And when I had arrived at Troas, because of the Gospel of Christ, and a door had opened to me in the Lord,
13 Anzi, essendomi da loro accommiatato, me ne sono andato in Macedonia.	13 I had no rest within my spirit, because I was not able to find Titus, my brother. So, saying goodbye to them, I set out for Macedonia.
14 OR ringraziato sia Iddio, il qual fa che sempre trionfiamo in Cristo, e manifesta per noi in ogni luogo l’odor della sua conoscenza.	14 But thanks be to God, who always brings triumph to us in Christ Jesus, and who manifests the fragrance of his knowledge through us in every place.
15 Perciocchè noi siamo il buono odore di Cristo a Dio, fra coloro che son salvati, e fra coloro che periscono;	15 For we are the sweet fragrance of Christ for God, both with those who are being saved and with those who are perishing.
16 a questi veramente, odor di morte a morte; ma a quelli, odor di vita a vita. E chi è sufficiente a queste cose?	16 To the one, certainly, the fragrance is of death unto death. But to the other, the fragrance is of life unto life. And concerning these things, who is so suitable?
17 Poichè noi non falsifichiamo la parola di Dio, come molti altri; ma come di sincerità, ma come da parte di Dio, parliamo in Cristo, nel cospetto di Dio	17 For we are not like many others, adulterating the Word of God. But instead, we speak with sincerity: from God, before God, and in Christ.
