1 Quando Israele uscì dall’Egitto,la casa di Giacobbe da un popolo barbaro,	1 When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language;
2 Giuda divenne il suo santuario,Israele il suo dominio.	2 Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion.
3 Il mare vide e si ritrasse,il Giordano si volse indietro,	3 The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back.
4 le montagne saltellarono come arieti,le colline come agnelli di un gregge.	4 The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs.
5 Che hai tu, mare, per fuggire,e tu, Giordano, per volgerti indietro?	5 What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest? thou Jordan, that thou wast driven back?
6 Perché voi, montagne, saltellate come arietie voi, colline, come agnelli di un gregge?	6 Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams; and ye little hills, like lambs?
7 Trema, o terra, davanti al Signore,davanti al Dio di Giacobbe,	7 Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;
8 che muta la rupe in un lago,la roccia in sorgenti d’acqua.	8 Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.
