BIBBIA CEI 1974	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Mi fu rivolta ancora questa parola del Signore:	1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows,
2 "Figlio dell'uomo, profetizza contro i profeti d'Israele, profetizza e di' a coloro che profetizzano secondo i propri desideri: Udite la parola del Signore:	2 'Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel; prophesy, and say to those who make upprophecies out of their own heads, "Hear what Yahweh says:
3 Così dice il Signore Dio: Guai ai profeti stolti, che seguono il loro spirito senza avere avuto visioni.	3 The Lord Yahweh says this: Disaster is in store for the foolish prophets who fol ow their own spirit andhave seen nothing!
4 Come sciacalli fra le macerie, tali sono i tuoi profeti, Israele.	4 Your prophets, Israel, are like ruin-haunting jackals!
5 Voi non siete saliti sulle brecce e non avete costruito alcun baluardo in difesa degli Israeliti, perché potessero resistere al combattimento nel giorno del Signore.	5 "You have not ventured into the breach; you have not built up the wal round the House of Israel, tohold fast in battle on the Day of Yahweh.
6 Hanno avuto visioni false, vaticini menzogneri coloro che dicono: Oracolo del Signore, mentre il Signore non li ha inviati. Eppure confidano che si avveri la loro parola!	6 Theirs are futile visions and false predictions, who say: A prophecy from Yahweh, when Yahweh hasnot sent them; yet they expect their words to come true.
7 Non avete forse avuto una falsa visione e preannunziato vaticini bugiardi, quando dite: Parola del Signore, mentre io non vi ho parlato?	7 Have not the visions you see been futile, have not the predictions you make been false, although yousay: A prophecy of Yahweh, when I have not spoken?
8 Pertanto dice il Signore Dio: Poiché voi avete detto il falso e avuto visioni bugiarde, eccomi dunque contro di voi, dice il Signore Dio.	8 "Very wel , the Lord Yahweh says this: Because of your futile words and false predictions, I am nowagainst you -- declares Lord Yahweh.
9 La mia mano sarà sopra i profeti dalle false visioni e dai vaticini bugiardi; non avranno parte nell'assemblea del mio popolo, non saranno scritti nel libro d'Israele e non entreranno nel paese d'Israele: saprete che io sono il Signore Dio,	9 My hand wil be against the prophets who have futile visions and give false predictions; they will not beadmitted to the council of my people, their names wil not be entered in the roll of the House of Israel, they willnot set foot on the soil of Israel; and they wil know that I am the Lord Yahweh.
10 poiché ingannano il mio popolo dicendo: Pace! e la pace non c'è; mentre egli costruisce un muro, ecco essi lo intonacano di mota.	10 This is because they have misled my people by saying Peace! when there is no peace. When mypeople were repairing a wal , these men came and plastered it over!
11 Di' a quegli intonacatori di mota: Cadrà! Scenderà una pioggia torrenziale, una grandine grossa, si scatenerà un uragano	11 Tel these plasterers: It will rain hard, it wil hail, it wil blow a gale,
12 ed ecco, il muro è abbattuto. Allora non vi sarà forse domandato: Dov'è la calcina con cui lo avevate intonacato?	12 and down wil come the wal ! Will not people ask you: What has become of the plaster you slappedon it?
13 Perciò dice il Signore Dio: Con ira scatenerò un uragano, per la mia collera cadrà una pioggia torrenziale, nel mio furore per la distruzione cadrà grandine come pietre;	13 Wel then, the Lord Yahweh says this: I am going to unleash a stormy wind in my fury, torrential rainin my anger, hailstones in my destructive fury,
14 demolirò il muro che avete intonacato di mota, lo atterrerò e le sue fondamenta rimarranno scoperte; esso crollerà e voi perirete insieme con esso e saprete che io sono il Signore.	14 and I shal shatter the wal you plastered and knock it down and lay its foundations bare. It wil faland you wil perish under it; then you wil know that I am Yahweh."
15 Quando avrò sfogato l'ira contro il muro e contro coloro che lo intonacarono di mota, io vi dirò: Il muro non c'è più e neppure gli intonacatori,	15 'When I have sated my anger on the wal and those who plastered it, I shall say to you, "The wal isgone, and so are those who plastered over it,
16 i profeti d'Israele che profetavano su Gerusalemme e vedevano per essa una visione di pace, mentre non vi era pace. Oracolo del Signore.	16 the prophets of Israel who prophesy about Jerusalem and have visions of peace for her when there isno peace -- declares the Lord Yahweh."
17 Ora tu, figlio dell'uomo, rivolgiti alle figlie del tuo popolo che profetizzano secondo i loro desideri e profetizza contro di loro.	17 'Also, son of man, turn to the women of your people who make up prophecies out of their own heads;prophesy against them.
18 Dirai loro: Dice il Signore Dio: Guai a quelle che cuciono nastri magici a ogni polso e preparano veli per le teste di ogni grandezza per dar la caccia alle persone. Pretendete forse di dare la caccia alla gente del mio popolo e salvare voi stesse?	18 Say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: Disaster is in store for women who sew ribbons round each wristand make head-cloths for people of al sizes, in their hunt for souls! Are you to hunt the souls of my people andkeep your own souls safe?
19 Voi mi avete disonorato presso il mio popolo per qualche manciata d'orzo e per un tozzo di pane, facendo morire chi non doveva morire e facendo vivere chi non doveva vivere, ingannando il mio popolo che crede alle menzogne.	19 You dishonour me in front of my people for a few handfuls of barley, a few bits of bread, kil ing thosewho ought not to die and sparing those who ought not to live, lying to my people who love listening to lies.
20 Perciò dice il Signore Dio: Eccomi contro i vostri nastri magici con i quali voi date la caccia alla gente come a uccelli; li strapperò dalle vostre braccia e libererò la gente che voi avete catturato come uccelli.	20 "Very wel , the Lord Yahweh says this: Look, I am now against your ribbons, with which you huntsouls like birds, and I shal tear them off your arms and free those souls whom you hunt like birds.
21 Straccerò i vostri veli e libererò il mio popolo dalle vostre mani e non sarà più una preda in mano vostra; saprete così che io sono il Signore.	21 I shal tear your head-cloths to pieces and rescue my people from your clutches; no longer wil theybe fair game for you to ensnare. Then you wil know that I am Yahweh.
22 Voi infatti avete rattristato con menzogne il cuore del giusto, mentre io non l'avevo rattristato e avete rafforzato il malvagio perché non desistesse dalla sua vita malvagia e vivesse.	22 "For having intimidated with lies the heart of the upright whom I had done nothing to alarm, and forhaving encouraged the wicked not to give up wicked ways and so be saved,
23 Per questo non avrete più visioni false, né più spaccerete incantesimi: libererò il mio popolo dalle vostre mani e saprete che io sono il Signore".	23 very well, you wil have no more futile visions and make no more predictions, for I shal rescue mypeople from your clutches, and you will know that I am Yahweh." '
