Josué 18

1 Toda la comunidad de los israelitas se reunió en Silo, y allí fue instalada la Carpa del Encuentro. El país ya estaba sometido a los israelitas,	1 After they had subdued the land, the whole community of the Israelites assembled at Shiloh, where they set up the meeting tent.
2 pero todavía quedaban siete tribus a las que no se les había repartido su herencia.	2 Seven tribes among the Israelites had not yet received their heritage.
3 Entonces Josué dijo a los israelitas: «¿Hasta cuándo van a demorar en ir a tomar posesión del país que les dio en herencia el Señor, el Dios de sus padres?	3 Joshua therefore said to the Israelites, "How much longer will you put off taking steps to possess the land which the LORD, the God of your fathers, has given you?
4 Designen a tres hombres por cada tribu, y yo los enviaré a recorrer el país. Ellos harán su descripción para que pueda ser repartido, y después regresarán.	4 Choose three men from each of your tribes; I will commission them to begin a survey of the land, which they shall describe for purposes of inheritance. When they return to me
5 Dividirán el territorio en siete partes, Judá se quedará en su territorio, al sur, y la casa de José en el suyo, al norte.	5 you shall divide it into seven parts. Judah is to retain its territory in the south, and the house of Joseph its territory in the north.
6 Y cuando ustedes hayan hecho la descripción del país, dividiéndolo en siete partes, me la traerán para que yo la sortee aquí, en la presencia del Señor, nuestro Dios.	6 You shall bring here to me the description of the land in seven sections. I will then cast lots for you here before the LORD, our God.
7 Porque los levitas no tendrán ninguna parte en medio de ustedes, ya que el sacerdocio del Señor es su herencia; y Gad, Rubén y la mitad de la tribu de Manasés ya han recibido en el lado oriental del Jordán, la herencia que les asignó Moisés, el servidor del Señor.	7 For the Levites have no share among you, because the priesthood of the LORD is their heritage; while Gad, Reuben, and the half-tribe of Manasseh have already received the heritage east of the Jordan which Moses, the servant of the LORD, gave them."
8 Cuando los hombres que iban a hacer la descripción del país se disponían a partir, Josué les dio esta orden: «Vayan a recorrer el país, descríbanlo, y luego regresen. Después yo lo sortearé entre ustedes delante del Señor, aquí mismo, en Silo».	8 When those who were to map out the land were ready for the journey, Joshua instructed them to survey the land, prepare a description of it, and return to him; then he would cast lots for them there before the LORD in Shiloh.
9 Los hombres partieron, recorrieron el país y registraron por escrito las ciudades, dividiéndolas en siete grupos. Después regresaron al campamento de Silo, donde estaba Josué.	9 So they went through the land, listed its cities in writing in seven sections, and returned to Joshua in the camp at Shiloh.
10 Allí Josué echó las suertes entre los israelitas, delante del Señor, y repartió el territorio a cada una de las tribus de Israel.	10 Joshua then divided up the land for the Israelites into their separate shares, casting lots for them before the LORD in Shiloh.
11 Se extrajo la suerte correspondiente a los clanes de la tribu de Benjamín, y a ellos les tocó el territorio comprendido entre el de los hijos de Judá y el de los hijos de José.	11 One lot fell to the clans of the tribe of Benjaminites. The territory allotted them lay between the descendants of Judah and those of Joseph.
12 Por el lado septentrional, el límite partía del Jordán y subía por la pendiente norte de Jericó; luego subía por la montaña hacia el oeste, para terminar en el desierto de Bet Aven.	12 Their northern boundary began at the Jordan and went over the northern flank of Jericho, up westward into the mountains, till it reached the desert of Beth-aven.
13 De allí el límite pasaba a Luz, hacia la pendiente meridional de Luz –o sea, Betel– y después descendía hasta Atarot Adar, sobre el monte que está al sur de Bet Jorón de Abajo.	13 From there it crossed over to the southern flank of Luz (that is, Bethel). Then it ran down to Ataroth-addar, on the mountaintop south of Lower Beth-horon.
14 Luego el límite daba vuelta, girando por el lado oeste, hacia el sur, y saliendo de la montaña que se encuentra frente a Bet Jorón, al sur, iba a terminar en Quiriat Baal –o sea en Quiriat Iearím– ciudad que pertenece a los hijos de Judá. Este era el límite occidental.	14 For the western border, the boundary line swung south from the mountaintop opposite Bethhoron till it reached Kiriath-baal (that is, Kiriath-jearim), which city belonged to the Judahites. This was the western boundary.
15 Por el lado meridional, el límite partía del extremo de Quiriat Iearím, seguía hacia Gasín y salía cerca de las aguas de la fuente de Neftóaj.	15 The southern boundary began at the limits of Kiriath-jearim and projected to the spring at Nephtoah.
16 Luego bajaba hasta el extremo del monte que está frente al valle de Ben Hinnóm, al norte del valle de los Refaím; seguía bajando por el valle de Hinnóm, al sur del flanco de los jebuseos, y descendía hasta En Roguel.	16 It went down to the edge of the mountain on the north of the Valley of Rephaim, where it faces the Valley of Ben-hinnom; and continuing down the Valley of Hinnom along the southern flank of the Jebusites, reached En-rogel.
17 Desde allí doblaba hacia el norte y llegaba a En Semes; luego se dirigía hacia Guelilot, que está frente a la subida de Adumím, y bajaba en el Peñasco de Boján, el rubenita.	17 Inclining to the north, it extended to En-shemesh, and thence to Geliloth, opposite the pass of Adummim. Then it dropped to Eben-Bohan-ben-Reuben,
18 Después pasaba por la pendiente que hay frente a Bet Arabá; al norte, y bajaba hasta la Arabá;	18 across the northern flank of the Arabah overlook, down into the Aarabah.
19 seguía por la pendiente de Bet Joglá, hacia el norte, y terminaba en la parte septentrional del mar de la Sal, en el extremo sur del Jordán. Esta era la frontera sur.	19 From there the boundary continued across the northern flank of Beth-hoglah and extended to the northern tip of the Salt Sea, at the southern end of the Jordan. This was the southern boundary.
20 Por el este, el límite estaba formado por el Jordán. Esta fue la herencia de los clanes de Benjamín, con los límites que la rodean.	20 The Jordan bounded it on the east. This was how the heritage of the clans of the Benjaminites was bounded on all sides.
21 Las ciudades asignadas a los clanes de la tribu de Benjamín fueron las siguientes: Jericó, Bet Joglá, Emec Quesís,	21 Now the cities belonging to the clans of the tribe of the Benjaminites were: Jericho, Beth-hoglah, Emek-keziz,
22 Bet Ha Arabá, Semaraim, Betel,	22 Beth-arabah, Zemaraim, Bethel,
23 Avím, Pará, Ofrá,	23 Avvim, Parah, Ophrah,
24 Quefar Ha Amoni, Ofní, Gueba: en total, doce ciudades con sus poblados.	24 Chephar-ammoni, Ophni and Geba; twelve cities and their villages.
25 Además, Gabaón, Ramá, Beerot,	25 Also Gibeon, Ramah, Beeroth,
26 Mispé, Quefirá, Mosá,	26 Mizpeh, Chephirah, Mozah,
27 Réquem, Irpeel, Taralá,	27 Rekem, Irpeel, Taralah,
28 Selá, Elef, Jerusalén –la ciudad jebusea– Guibeá y Quiriat: en total, catorce ciudades con sus poblados. Esta fue la herencia que recibieron los clanes de la tribu de Benjamín.	28 Zela, Haeleph, the Jebusite city (that is, Jerusalem), Gibeah and Kiriath; fourteen cities and their villages. This was the heritage of the clans of Benjaminites.
