Josué 13

1 Cuando Josué ya era de edad muy avanzada, el Señor le dijo: «Tú eres un anciano muy entrado en años, y todavía queda por conquistar una gran parte del país.	1 Joshua was old and advanced in age, and the Lord said to him: “You have grown old, and are aged, and a very wide land remains, which has not yet been divided by lot,
2 El territorio que falta conquistar es el siguiente: todos los distritos de los filisteos y todo el país de los guesuritas,	2 specifically, all of Galilee, Philistia, and all of Geshur;
3 o sea, desde el Sijor, que está sobre la frontera de Egipto, hasta el límite de Ecrón por el norte. Esta región se considera como perteneciente a los cananeos. Allí están los cinco príncipes de los filisteos –el de Gaza, el de Asdod, el de Ascalón, el de Gat y el de Ecrón– y también los avitas,	3 from the muddy river, which irrigates Egypt, as far as the border of Ekron toward the north, the land of Canaan, which is divided among the rulers of Philistia: the Gazites, and the Ashdodites, the Ashkelonites, the Gathites, and the Ekronites;
4 que están al sur. Además queda todo el país de los cananeos, desde Ará de los sidonios hasta Afec y hasta la frontera de los amorreos.	4 truly, to the south are the Hivites, all the land of Canaan, and Mearah of the Sidonians, as far as Aphek and the borders of the Amorite
5 Y por último, el país de los guiblitas con todo el Líbano hacia oriente, desde Baal Gad, que está al pie del monte Hermón, hasta la Entrada de Jamat.	5 and his confines; also, the region of Lebanon toward the east, from Baalgad, under mount Hermon, until you enter into Hamath;
6 Yo expulsaré delante de los israelitas a todos los habitantes de la Montaña, desde el Líbano hasta Misrefot Maim, y a todos los sidonios. Tú, por tu parte, distribuye el país entre los israelitas mediante un sorteo, para que lo posean como herencia, según te lo he ordenado.	6 all who live in the mountains from Lebanon, as far as the waters of Misrephoth, and all the Sidonians. I am the One who will wipe them out, before the face of the sons of Israel. Therefore, let their land become a part of the inheritance of Israel, just as I have instructed you.
7 Sí, ya es hora de que repartas este país entre las nueve tribus y media, para que lo posean como herencia. Porque la mitad de la tribu de Manasés,	7 And now, divide the land as a possession to the nine tribes, and to the one half tribe of Manasseh.”
8 lo mismo que los rubenitas y los gaditas, ya han recibido la herencia que les dio Moisés en el lado oriental del Jordán».	8 With them, Reuben and Gad have possessed the land, which Moses, the servant of the Lord, delivered to them beyond the river Jordan, on the eastern side:
9 el territorio que va desde Aroer, a orillas del torrente Arnón, con la ciudad que está en medio del valle; todo el altiplano, desde Medbá hasta Dibón,	9 from Aroer, which is situated on the bank of the torrent Arnon and in the midst of the valley, and all the plains of Medeba, as far as Dibon;
10 y todas las ciudades de Sijón –el rey de los amorreos que había reinado en Jesbón– hasta la frontera de los amonitas.	10 and all the cities of Sihon, the king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, even to the borders of the sons of Ammon;
11 Además, les había asignado Galaad y el territorio de los guesuritas y de los maacatitas, con toda la montaña del Hermón y todo Basán hasta Salcá.	11 and Gilead, as well as the borders of Geshur and Maacati, and all of mount Hermon, and all of Bashan, as far as Salecah;
12 Y en Basán, todo el territorio de Og –que había reinado en Astarot y Edrei, y era uno de los últimos sobrevivientes de los Gigantes– a quien Moisés venció y despojó de sus dominios.	12 the entire kingdom of Og in Bashan, who reigned at Ashtaroth and Edrei, (he was among the last of the Rephaim). And Moses struck and destroyed them.
13 Pero los israelitas no expulsaron a los guesuritas y a los maacatitas, que por eso continúan viviendo en medio de Israel hasta el día de hoy.	13 And the sons of Israel were not willing to destroy Geshur and Maacati, and so they have lived in the midst of Israel, even to the present day.
14 A la tribu de Leví, en cambio, Moisés no le asignó ninguna herencia: las ofrendas hechas al Señor, el Dios de Israel, son su herencia, como él mismo se lo había declarado.	14 But to the tribe of Levi, he did not give a possession. Instead, the sacrifices and victims of the Lord, the God of Israel, these are his inheritance, just as he spoke to him.
15 Moisés ya había dado una parte a los clanes de la tribu de los rubenitas.	15 Therefore, Moses gave a possession to the tribe of the sons of Reuben, according to their families.
16 A ellos les tocó el territorio que sale de Aroer, a orillas del torrente Arnón, con la ciudad que está en medio del valle; todo el altiplano en dirección a Medbá,	16 And their border was from Aroer, which is situated on the bank of the torrent Arnon, and in the midst of the valley of the same torrent, with all the flatlands that lead to Medeba;
17 hasta llegar a Jesbón, y todas las ciudades del altiplano: Dibón, Bamot Baal, Bet Baal Meón,	17 and Heshbon, and all their villages, which are in the plains; also Dibon, and Bamothbaal, and the town of Baalmeon,
18 Iajsá, Quedemot, Mefaat,	18 and Jahaz, and Kedemoth, and Mephaath,
19 Quiriataim, Sibmá, Séret Ha Sájar en la montaña que da sobre el valle,	19 and Kiriathaim, and Sibmah, and Zereth-shahar on the mountain of the steep valley;
20 Bet Peor, las pendientes del Pisgá y Bet Ha Iesimot.	20 Bethpeor, and the descending slopes of Pisgah, and Beth-jeshimoth;
21 Todas las ciudades del altiplano habían pertenecido a Sijón, el rey de los amorreos que reinaba en Jesbón, y al que Moisés había derrotado, lo mismo que a los principes de Madián: Evi, Réquem, Sur, Jur y Reba, vasallos de Sijón que habitaban en aquel país.	21 and all the cities of the plain, and all the kingdoms of Sihon, the king of the Amorites, who reigned at Heshbon, whom Moses struck down with the leaders of Midian: Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, the commanders of Sihon, inhabitants of the land.
22 Asimismo, los israelitas habían pasado al filo de la espada al adivino Balaam, hijo de Beor, junto con las otras víctimas.	22 And the sons of Israel killed Balaam, the son of Beor, the seer, with the sword, along with the others who were slain.
23 La ribera del Jordán servía de límite a los rubenitas. Esta fue la herencia asignada a los clanes de los rubenitas: las ciudades y sus poblados.	23 And the river Jordan was made the border of the sons of Reuben; this is the possession of the Reubenites, by their families, in cities and villages.
24 Moisés también había dado una parte a los clanes de los gaditas.	24 And Moses gave to the tribe of Gad and his sons, by their families, a possession, of which this is the division:
25 Su territorio comprendía Iázer, todas las ciudades de Galaad y la mitad del país de los amonitas, hasta Aroer, que está enfrente de Rabbá.	25 the border of Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and one half part of the land of the sons of Ammon, as far as Aroer, which is opposite Rabbah;
26 Además, desde Jesbón hasta Ramat Ha Mispá y Betoním, y desde Majanaim hasta el territorio de Lo Debar.	26 and from Heshbon as far as Ramath, Mizpeh, and Betonim; and from Mahanaim as far as the borders of Debir;
27 Y en el valle, Bet Jaram, Bet Mimrá, Sucot y Safón, el resto del reino de Sijón, rey de Jesbón. Y el lado oriental del Jordán, hasta el extremo del mar de Genesaret, les servía de límite.	27 also, in the valley Beth-haram and Beth-nimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon, the remaining part of the kingdom of Sihon, the king of Heshbon; the limit of this also is the Jordan, as far as the furthest part of the sea of Chinnereth, beyond the Jordan on the eastern side.
28 Esta fue la herencia de los clanes de los gaditas: las ciudades y sus poblados.	28 This is the possession of the sons of Gad, by their families, in their cities and villages.
29 Moisés también había dado una parte a los clanes de la mitad de la tribu de Manasés.	29 He also gave, to the one half tribe of Manasseh and to his sons, a possession according to their families,
30 Su territorio, partiendo de Majanaim, comprendía todo Basán, y todas las poblaciones de Iair, en Basán: en total, sesenta ciudades.	30 the beginning of which is this: from Mahanaim, all of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Og, the king of Bashan, and all the villages of Jair, which are in Bashan, sixty towns;
31 La mitad de Galaad, Astarot y Edrei, ciudades del reino de Og en Basán, pasaron a los clanes de los hijos de Maquir, hijo de Manasés.	31 and one half part of Gilead, and Ashtaroth, and Edrei, the cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, to the sons of Machir, the son of Manasseh, to one half part of the sons of Machir, according to their families.
32 Este fue el reparto que hizo Moisés en las Estepas de Moab, al otro lado del Jordán, al este de Jericó.	32 Moses divided this possession, in the plains of Moab, beyond the Jordan, opposite Jericho on the eastern side.
33 Pero Moisés no asignó ninguna herencia a la tribu de Leví, porque el Señor, el Dios de Israel, es su herencia, como él mismo se lo había declarado.	33 But to the tribe of Levi he did not give a possession. For the Lord, the God of Israel, is himself their possession, just as he spoke to him.
