Jeremías 27

EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	DOUAI-RHEIMS
1 Al comienzo del reinado de Sedecías, hijo de Josías, rey de Judá, llegó a Jeremías esta palabra, de parte del Señor :	1 In the beginning of the reign of Joakim the son of Josias king of Juda, this word came to Jeremias from the Lord, saying:
2 Así me ha hablado el Señor: Fabrícate unas ataduras y unas barras de yugo, y ajústalas a tu cuello.	2 Thus saith the Lord to me: Make thee bands, and chains: and thou shalt put them on thy neck.
3 Luego enviarás un mensaje al rey de Edom, al rey de Moab, al rey de los amonitas, al rey de Tiro y al rey de Sidón, por medio de los mensajeros que vinieron a Jerusalén para ver a Sedecías, rey de Judá.	3 And thou shalt send them to the of Edom, and to the king of Moab, and to the king of the children of Ammon, and to the king of Tyre, and to the king of Sidon: by the hand of the messengers that are come to Jerusalem to Sedecias the king of Juda.
4 Tú les ordenarás que comuniquen esto a sus señores: Así habla el Señor de los ejércitos, el Dios de Israel: Digan a sus señores:	4 And thou shalt command them to speak to their masters: Thus saith the Lord of hosts the God of Israel: Thus shall you say to your masters:
5 Con mi gran fuerza y mi brazo poderoso, yo hice la tierra, al hombre y los animales que están sobre la superficie de la tierra, y los entrego a quien me parece bien.	5 I made the earth, and the men, and the beasts that are upon the face of the earth, by my great power, and by my stretched out arm: and I have given it to whom it seemed good in my eyes.
6 Ahora, yo entregué todos estos países en manos de Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, mi servidor; hasta los animales del campo se los di para que lo sirvan.	6 And now I have given all these lands into the hand of Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon my servant: moreover also the beasts of the field I have given him to serve him.
7 Todas las naciones lo servirán, a él, a su hijo y al hijo de su hijo, hasta que también a su país le llegue la hora, y lo sometan a servidumbre numerosas naciones y grandes reyes.	7 And all nations shall serve him, and his son, and his son's son: till the time come for his land and himself: and many nations and great kings shall serve him.
8 En cuanto a la nación o al reino que no lo sirva a él, a Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, y que no someta su cuello al yugo del rey de Babilonia, yo castigaré a esa nación con la espada, el hambre y la peste –oráculo del Señor– hasta hacerla desaparecer completamente por medio de él.	8 But the nation and kingdom that will not serve Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon, and whosoever will not bend his neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon: I will visit upon that nation with the sword, and with famine, and with pestilence, saith the Lord: till I consume them by his hand.
9 No escuchen entonces a sus profetas, a sus adivinos, a sus nigromantes, a sus astrólogos y a sus hechiceros, que les dicen: «¡Ustedes no servirán al rey de Babilonia!».	9 Therefore hearken not to your prophets, and diviners, and dreamers, and soothsayers, and sorcerers, that say to you: You shall not serve the king Babylon.
10 Porque ellos les profetizan lo que es falso, para alejarlos de su propio suelo, para que yo los expulse y ustedes perezcan.	10 For they prophesy lies to you: to remove you far from your country, and east you out, and to make you perish.
11 En cambio, a la nación que someta su cuello al yugo del rey de Babilonia y lo sirva, yo la instalaré en su propio suelo –oráculo del Señor– para que lo cultive y habite en él.	11 But the nation that shall bend down their neck under the yoke of the king Babylon, and shall serve him: Will let them remain in their own land, saith the Lord: and they shall till it, and dwell in it.
12 Yo hablé a Sedecías, rey de Judá, en estos mismos términos: Sometan su cuello al yugo del rey de Babilonia, sírvanlo a él y a su pueblo, y vivirán.	12 And I spoke to Sedecias the king of Juda according to all these words, saying: Bend down your necks under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him, and his people, and you shall live.
13 ¿Por qué morirán, tú y tu pueblo, por la espada, el hambre y la peste, según lo que dijo el Señor a toda nación que no sirva al rey de Babilonia?	13 Why will you die, thou and thy people by the sword, and by famine, and by the pestilence, as the Lord hath spoken against the nation that will not serve the king of Babylon?
14 No escuchen las palabras de los profetas que les dicen: «¡Ustedes no servirán al rey de Babilonia!» Porque es falso lo que ellos les profetizan.	14 Hearken not to the words of the prophets that say to you: You shall not serve the king of Babylon: for they tell you a lie.
15 No, yo no los envié –oráculo del Señor– y ellos profetizan falsamente en mi Nombre, para que yo los expulse y ustedes perezcan junto con los profetas que profetizan para ustedes.	15 For I have not sent them, saith the Lord: and they prophesy in my name falsely: to drive you out, and that you may perish, both you, and the prophets that prophesy to you.
16 A los sacerdotes y a todo el pueblo, les hablé en estos términos: Así habla el Señor: No escuchen las palabras de los profetas que les profetizan diciendo: «Los objetos de la Casa del Señor serán traídos ahora de Babilonia, y muy pronto». Porque es mentira lo que ellos profetizan para ustedes.	16 I spoke also to the priests, and to this people, saying: Thus saith the Lord: Hearken not to the words of your prophets, that prophesy to you, saying: Behold the vessels of the Lord shall now in a short time be brought again from Babylon: for they prophesy a lie unto you.
17 No les hagan caso: sirvan al rey de Babilonia, y vivirán. ¿Por qué esta ciudad tendrá que convertirse en una ruina?	17 Therefore hearken not to them, but serve the king of Babylon, that you may live. Why should this city be given up to desolation?
18 Pero si ellos son realmente profetas, y si la palabra del Señor está con ellos, que intervengan ante el Señor de los ejércitos, para evitar que lleguen a Babilonia los objetos que aún quedan en la Casa del Señor, en la casa de Judá y en Jerusalén.	18 But if they be prophets, and the word of the Lord be in them: let them interpose themselves before the Lord of hosts, that the vessels which were left in the house of the Lord, and in the house of the king of Juda, and in Jerusalem, may not go to Babylon.
19 Porque así habla el Señor de los ejércitos acerca de las columnas, del Mar de bronce, de las bases y de los demás objetos que aún quedan en esta ciudad,	19 For thus saith the Lord of hosts d to the pillars, and to the sea, and to the bases, and to the rest of the vessels that remain in this city:
20 esos que no se llevó el rey de Babilonia cuando deportó de Jerusalén a Babilonia a Jeconías, hijo de Joaquím, rey de Judá, y a todos los notables de Judá y de Jerusalén.	20 Which Nabuchodonosor the king of Babylon did not take, when he carried away Jechonias the son of Joakim the king of Juda, from Jerusalem to Babylon, and all the great men of Juda and Jerusalem.
21 Sí, así habla el Señor de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel, acerca de los objetos que aún quedan en la Casa del Señor, en la casa del rey de Judá y en Jerusalén:	21 For thus saith the Lord of hosts the God of Israel, to the vessels that are left in the house of the Lord, and in the house of the king of Juda and Jerusalem:
22 Serán llevados a Babilonia, y allí quedarán hasta el día en que me ocuparé de ellos –oráculo de Señor–. Entonces, los haré subir y los haré volver a este lugar.	22 They shall be carried to Babylon, and there they shall be until the day of their visitation, saith the Lord: and I will cause them to be brought, and to be restored in this place.
