Isaías 16

EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	CATHOLIC PUBLIC DOMAIN
1 Envíen un cordero de parte del soberano del país, desde la Roca, por el desierto, a la montaña de la hija de Sión.	1 O Lord, send forth the Lamb, the Ruler of the earth, from the Rock of the desert to the mountain of the daughter of Zion.
2 Como un pájaro espantado, como nidada dispersa, así estarán las hijas de Moab en los vados del Amón.	2 And this shall be: like a bird fleeing away, and like fledglings flying from the nest, so will the daughters of Moab be at the passage of Arnon.
3 Presenta un plan, toma una decisión. Extiende tu sombra como la noche en pleno mediodía, oculta a los desterrados, no delates al prófugo.	3 Form a plan. Call a council. Let your shadow be as if it were night, even at midday. Conceal the fugitives, and do not betray the wanderers.
4 Que encuentren en ti un asilo los desterrados de Moab, sé tú su escondite frente al devastador. Porque cuando cese la extorsión. se acabe la devastación y se vaya del país el que lo pisotea,	4 My fugitives will live with you. Become a hiding place, O Moab, from the face of the destroyer. For the dust is at its end; the miserable one has been consumed. He who trampled the earth has failed.
5 el trono será afianzado en la fidelidad y sobre él se sentará con lealtad, en la carpa de David, un juez celoso del derecho y dispuesto a hacer justicia.	5 And a throne will be prepared in mercy, and One shall sit upon it in truth, in the tabernacle of David, judging and seeking judgment, and quickly repaying what is just.
6 Nos hemos enterado del orgullo de Moab, el muy orgulloso; ¡de su arrogancia, su orgullo, su arrebato, su charlatanería inconsistente!	6 We have heard of the pride of Moab; he is very proud. His pride and his arrogance and his indignation is more than his strength.
7 Por eso, Moab gime por sí mismo, todos están gimiendo. ¡Por las tortas de uva de Quir Jaréset, ellos suspiran, enteramente abatidos!	7 For this reason, Moab will wail to Moab; each one will wail. Speak of their wounds to those who rejoice upon the brick walls.
8 Porque languidecen los fértiles campos de Jesbón, la viña de Sibmá, cuyas cepas escogidas dejaban volteados a los señores de las naciones: ellas llegaban hasta Iazer, se perdían en el desierto; sus sarmientos se extendían hasta más allá del mar.	8 For the suburbs of Heshbon are deserted, and the lords of the Gentiles have cut down the vineyard of Sibmah. Its vines have arrived even at Jazer. They have wandered in the desert. Its seedlings have been abandoned. They have crossed over the sea.
9 Por eso, uno mi llanto al de Iazer por la viña de Sibmá; yo te riego con mis lágrimas a ti, Jesbón, y a Elealé, porque sobre tu siega y tu cosecha enmudecieron los cantos de la vendimia.	9 I will weep with the tears of Jazer over this, the vineyard of Sibmah. I will inebriate you with my tears, Heshbon and Elealeh! For the sound of those who trample has rushed over your vintage and over your harvest.
10 El gozo y la alegría se han retirado de los vergeles ya no hay en las viñas ni gritos ni aclamaciones; nadie pisa el vino en los lagares, han cesado los cantos de la vendimia.	10 And so, rejoicing and exultation will be taken away from Carmel, and there will be no jubilation or exultation in the vineyards. He who was accustomed to tread will not tread out the wine in the winepress. I have taken away the sound of those who tread.
11 Por eso, mis entrañas vibran como una lira por Moab, y mi corazón, por Quir Jaréset.	11 Over this, my heart will resonate like a harp for Moab, and my inner most being for the brick wall.
12 Por más que Moab se presente y se fatigue en los lugares altos. Por más que vaya a su santuario a orar, no le valdrá de nada.	12 And this shall be: when it is seen that Moab has struggled upon his high places, he will enter his holy places to pray, but he will not prevail.
13 Esta es la palabra que el Señor pronunció hace tiempo sobre Moab.	13 This is the word that the Lord has spoken to Moab concerning that time.
14 Y ahora, así habla el Señor: «Dentro de tres años, computados como los años de un mercenario, la gloria de Moab será envilecida, a pesar de su inmensa muchedumbre: no quedará más que un poco, muy poco, casi nada».	14 And now the Lord has spoken, saying: In three years, like the years of a hired hand, the glory of Moab concerning the entire multitude of the people will be taken away, and what is left behind will be small and weak and not so numerous.
