1 Descendientes de Rubén, el primogénito de Israel. Rubén fue el primero en nacer, pero como profanó el lecho de su padre, su primogenitura fue entregada a los hijos de José, al hijo de Israel, y no fue inscrito en las genealogías como el primogénito.	1 Sons of Reuben, first-born of Israel. He was indeed the first-born but, when he defiled his father's bed,his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph son of Israel, and he was no longer reckoned as the eldest son.
2 Judá, en efecto, prevaleció entre sus hermanos y de él procede el Príncipe; pero la primogenitura pertenece a José.	2 Although Judah grew greater than his brothers and a leader came from him, the birthright wasJoseph's.

18 Los hijos de Rubén, los de Gad y la mitad de la tribu de Manasés, eran muy valientes, llevaban escudo y espada y manejaban el arco. Los que estaban adiestrados para la guerra formaban un ejército de cuarenta y cuatro mil setecientos sesenta hombres.	18 The sons of Reuben, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh had warriors, men armed with shieldand sword who could handle the bow and were trained for war, to the number of forty-four thousand sevenhundred and sixty fit for service.
19 Ellos combatieron contra los agareos, contra Ietur, Nafís y Nodab,	19 They made war on the Hagrites, on Jetur, Naphish and Nodab.
20 y Dios los ayudó, de tal manera que los agareos y todos los que estaban con ellos, cayeron en sus manos; en el combate invocaron a Dios y él les fue propicio, porque confiaban en él.	20 God came to their help, and the Hagrites and al their al ies fel into their hands, for they cal ed on Godas they fought, and because they put their trust in him he heard their prayer.
21 Así lograron capturar sus ganados –cincuenta mil camellos, doscientas cincuenta mil ovejas, dos mil asnos– además de cien mil personas.	21 Of their livestock they carried off fifty thousand camels, two hundred and fifty thousand sheep, twothousand donkeys and a hundred thousand people.
22 Como era Dios el que combatía a favor de ellos, dieron muerte a muchos enemigos y ocuparon su lugar hasta el exilio.	22 Because the war was of God, the slaughter was great. They continued to live in their territory until theexile.
23 Los hijos de la mitad de la tribu de Manasés se establecieron en el país, desde Basán hasta Baal Hermón, Senir y la montaña del Hermón. Ellos eran muy numerosos.	23 The sons of the half-tribe of Manasseh lived in the territory between Bashan and Baal-Hermon, Senirand Mount Hermon. They were numerous.
24 Estos son los jefes de sus familias: Efer, Isei, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremías, Hodavías y Iajdiel, hombres valientes y jefes famosos de sus respectivas familias.	24 These were the heads of their families: Epher, Ishi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremiah, Hodaviah, Jahdiel -- stoutfighting men, men of renown, heads of their families.

26 Por eso, el Dios de Israel suscitó contra ellos a Pul, es decir, a Tiglat Pileser, y este deportó a los rubenitas, a los gaditas y a la mitad de la tribu de Manasés, y los llevó a Jalaj, Jabor, Jará y al río Gozán, hasta el día de hoy.	26 the God of Israel roused the hostility of Pul, king of Assyria, that is the wrath of Tiglath-Pileser, king ofAssyria who deported them -- the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh -- taking them off toHalah, Habor, Hara and the river of Gozan. They are stil there today.
27 Los descendientes de Leví fueron Gersón, Quehat, y Merarí.	27 Sons of Levi: Gershom, Kohath and Merari.
28 Los hijos de Quehat fueron Amram, Ishar, Hebrón y Uziel.	28 Sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, Uzziel.
29 Los hijos de Amram fueron Aarón, Moisés y Miriam. Los hijos de Aarón fueron Nadab, Abihú, Eleazar e Itamar.	29 Children of Amram: Aaron, Moses and Miriam. Sons of Aaron: Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar andIthamar.
30 Eleazar fue padre de Pinjás; Pinjás fue padre de Abisúa;	30 Eleazar fathered Phinehas, Phinehas fathered Abishua,
31 Abisúa fue padre de Buquí; Buquí fue padre de Uzí;	31 Abishua fathered Bukki, Bukki fathered Uzzi.
32 Uzí fue padre de Zerajías; Zerajías fue padre de Meraiot;	32 Uzzi fathered Zerahiah, Zerahiah fathered Meraioth.
33 Meraiot fue padre de Amarías; Amarías fue padre de Ajitub;	33 Meraioth fathered Amariah, Amariah fathered Ahitub,
34 Ajitub fue padre de Sadoc; Sadoc fue padre de Ajimáas;	34 Ahitub fathered Zadok, Zadok fathered Ahimaaz.
35 Ajimáas fue padre de Azarías; Azarías fue padre de Iojanán;	35 Ahimaaz fathered Azariah, Azariah fathered Johanan.
36 Iojanán fue padre de Azarías, el cual ejerció el sacerdocio en el Templo que Salomón edificó en Jerusalén;	36 Johanan fathered Azariah. He it was who officiated as priest in the Temple which Solomon built inJerusalem.
37 Azarías fue padre de Amarías; Amarías fue padre de Ajitub;	37 Azariah fathered Amariah, Amariah fathered Ahitub,
38 Ajitub fue padre de Sadoc; Sadoc fue padre de Salúm;	38 Ahitub fathered Zadok, Zadok fathered Shallum,
39 Salúm fue padre de Jilquías; Jilquías fue padre de Azarías;	39 Shallum fathered Hilkiah, Hilkiah fathered Azariah,
40 Azarías fue padre de Seraías ; Seraías fue padre de Iehosadac;	40 Azariah fathered Seraiah, Seraiah fathered Jehozadak,
41 Iehosadac fue al destierro, cuando el Señor deportó a los habitantes de Judá y de Jerusalén por medio de Nabucodonosor.	41 and Jehozadak went into exile when, at the hands of Nebuchadnezzar, Yahweh exiled Judah andJerusalem.
