1 Alors un des sept anges des sept fléaux s’est approché de moi et m’a parlé: "Viens donc que je te montre le jugement de la grande prostituée installée au bord des grandes eaux;	1 Then one of the seven angels who were holding the seven bowls came and said to me, "Come here. I will show you the judgment on the great harlot who lives near the many waters.
2 les rois de la terre couchaient avec elle et les habitants de la terre s’enivraient de sa luxure.”	2 The kings of the earth have had intercourse with her, and the inhabitants of the earth became drunk on the wine of her harlotry."
3 L’ange m’enleva en esprit et me conduisit au désert. Là j’ai vu une femme assise sur une bête couleur écarlate, qui avait sept têtes et dix cornes, toute couverte de titres qui sont autant d’insultes à Dieu.	3 Then he carried me away in spirit to a deserted place where I saw a woman seated on a scarlet beast that was covered with blasphemous names, with seven heads and ten horns.
4 La femme était vêtue de rouge pourpre et écarlate, elle était parée d’or, de perles et de pierres précieuses. Elle tenait à la main une coupe d’or remplie de choses abominables, toutes les impuretés de sa prostitution.	4 The woman was wearing purple and scarlet and adorned with gold, precious stones, and pearls. She held in her hand a gold cup that was filled with the abominable and sordid deeds of her harlotry.
5 Sur son front était écrit son nom, un nom à mystères: Babylone la Grande, la mère des prostituées et des abominations de toute la terre.	5 On her forehead was written a name, which is a mystery, "Babylon the great, the mother of harlots and of the abominations of the earth."
6 Et j’ai vu cette femme ivre du sang des saints et du sang des martyrs de Jésus.	6 I saw that the woman was drunk on the blood of the holy ones and on the blood of the witnesses to Jesus. When I saw her I was greatly amazed.
7 Quand je la vis, ce fut pour moi un grand étonnement. Alors l’ange me dit: "Qu’est-ce qui t’étonne? Je vais t’expliquer le secret de la femme et de la bête qui la porte, qui a sept têtes et dix cornes.	7 The angel said to me, "Why are you amazed? I will explain to you the mystery of the woman and of the beast that carries her, the beast with the seven heads and the ten horns.
8 La bête que tu as vue était mais N’Est pas. Elle va remonter de l’abîme mais elle va à sa perte. Et ce sera une grande surprise pour les habitants de la terre dont le nom n’est pas écrit sur le livre de vie depuis la fondation du monde, quand ils verront que la bête qui était n’Est pas, mais qu’elle passe.”	8 The beast that you saw existed once but now exists no longer. It will come up from the abyss and is headed for destruction. The inhabitants of the earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world shall be amazed when they see the beast, because it existed once but exists no longer, and yet it will come again.
9 Si vous êtes astucieux, essayez ici de comprendre. Les sept têtes sont sept monts sur lesquels la femme est assise; et ce sont aussi sept rois.	9 Here is a clue for one who has wisdom. The seven heads represent seven hills upon which the woman sits. They also represent seven kings:
10 Les cinq premiers sont tombés; un est en place; un autre n’est pas encore arrivé, mais une fois là il durera peu.	10 five have already fallen, one still lives, and the last has not yet come, and when he comes he must remain only a short while.
11 S’il faut un huitième, ce sera la bête qui était et N’Est Pas, laquelle va avec les sept et court à sa perte.	11 The beast that existed once but exists no longer is an eighth king, but really belongs to the seven and is headed for destruction.
12 Les dix cornes que tu as vues sont dix rois qui n’ont pas encore commencé à régner; ils obtiendront le pouvoir et seront rois pour une heure à la suite de la bête.	12 The ten horns that you saw represent ten kings who have not yet been crowned; they will receive royal authority along with the beast for one hour.
13 Ils poursuivent un même but et ils donneront à la bête leurs forces et leur autorité.	13 They are of one mind and will give their power and authority to the beast.
14 Ils feront la guerre à l’Agneau, mais l’Agneau est Seigneur des seigneurs et Roi des rois; il sera vainqueur, et avec lui ceux qu’il a élus et appelés et qui lui sont fidèles.”	14 They will fight with the Lamb, but the Lamb will conquer them, for he is Lord of lords and king of kings, and those with him are called, chosen, and faithful."
15 Il me dit encore: "Les eaux que tu as vues, au bord desquelles la prostituée est assise, ce sont des peuples et des multitudes de toute nation et de toute langue.	15 Then he said to me, "The waters that you saw where the harlot lives represent large numbers of peoples, nations, and tongues.
16 Quant aux dix cornes que tu as vues sur la bête, elles haïront la prostituée. elles la dépouilleront et la laisseront nue, elles mangeront sa chair et la réduiront en cendres.	16 The ten horns that you saw and the beast will hate the harlot; they will leave her desolate and naked; they will eat her flesh and consume her with fire.
17 Dieu leur fait vouloir tout cela afin de réaliser son propre projet; ils n’ont qu’un même dessein et ils livreront leur royaume à la bête jusqu’à ce que s’accomplissent les paroles de Dieu.	17 For God has put it into their minds to carry out his purpose and to make them come to an agreement to give their kingdom to the beast until the words of God are accomplished.
18 Oui, la femme que tu as vue est la Grande Ville, celle qui a autorité sur tous les rois de la terre.”	18 The woman whom you saw represents the great city that has sovereignty over the kings of the earth."
