1 Je leur disais: “Écoutez donc, chefs de Jacob et commandants de la maison d’Israël! Ne devriez-vous pas connaître le droit?	1 And I said: Listen, leaders of Jacob and chiefs of the house of Israel. Does it not belong to you to know judgment,
2 Mais vous détestez le bien et vous aimez le mal, vous arrachez aux hommes jusqu’à leur peau et la chair qu’ils ont sur les os.	2 you who hold hatred for good, and love evil, who violently steal their skins from over them and their flesh from over their bones?
3 Ceux qui ont dévoré la chair de mon peuple, qui lui ont arraché la peau et brisé les os, qui le déchirent comme la viande dans la marmite, comme la viande dans un chaudron -	3 They have devoured the flesh of my people, and have stripped their skin from over them, and they have shattered and chopped their bones, as if for the kettle, and like flesh in the middle of the pot.
4 ils pourront crier vers Yahvé mais lui ne leur répondra pas. Il leur cachera son visage en ce temps-là, pour tous les crimes qu’ils ont commis.”	4 Then they will cry out to the Lord, and he will not heed them. And he will hide his face from them in that time, just as they have acted wickedly with their inventions.
5 Voici que Yahvé parle, contre les prophètes qui égarent mon peuple: “Ils promettent la paix quand on leur met quelque chose sous la dent, mais à ceux qui ne leur donnent rien, ils déclarent la guerre.	5 Thus says the Lord about the prophets who seduce my people: They bite with their teeth and preach peace, and if anyone does not give something to their mouth, they sanctify a battle against him.
6 C’est pourquoi la nuit vient sur vous: plus de vision! Les ténèbres viennent sur vous: plus de révélation! Le soleil se couche pour les prophètes et leur jour se change en ténèbres.	6 Because of this, night will be yours for vision, and darkness yours for divination, and the sun will meet with death over the prophets, and the day will be darkened over them.
7 Les voyants vont être couverts de honte, et ceux qui devinaient l’avenir, couverts de confusion; ils fermeront tous la bouche, ils devront se taire car Dieu ne répondra pas.	7 And those who see visions will be confounded, and the diviners will be confounded. And they will all cover their faces, because there is no response from God.
8 Moi au contraire, je suis rempli de force et du souffle de Yahvé, plein de justice et de courage pour dénoncer à Jacob son crime, à Israël son péché.	8 Nevertheless, truly I have been filled with the strength of the Spirit of the Lord, with judgment and virtue, in order to announce to Jacob his wickedness and to Israel his sin.
9 Écoutez donc ceci, chefs de la maison de Jacob et commandants de la maison d’Israël: “Vous détestez la justice et vous rendez tortueux ce qui est droit.	9 Hear this, leaders of the house of Jacob and judges of the house of Israel, you who abominate judgment and who pervert all that is right.
10 Vous bâtissez Sion sur du sang et Jérusalem sur le péché.	10 You build up Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity.
11 La justice des chefs dépend du pot-de-vin, l’enseignement du prêtre de ce qu’on lui paye, et le prophète parle quand il a de l’argent. Mais tous ils sont sûrs de Yahvé; ils disent: Yahvé n’est-il pas au milieu de nous? Le malheur ne viendra pas sur nous.	11 Her leaders have judged for tributes, and her priests have taught for payment, and her prophets divined for money. And they leaned upon the Lord, saying: “Is not the Lord in our midst? No disaster will overcome us.”
12 C’est pourquoi, à cause de vous, Sion deviendra un champ à labourer, Jérusalem sera un monceau de ruines; la hauteur du Temple ne sera plus qu’une colline à l’abandon.”	12 For this reason, because of you, Zion will be plowed under like a field, and Jerusalem will become like a pile of stones, and the mountain of the temple like the high places of the forests.
