1 Bel s’écroule, Nébo s’effondre. On charge leurs statues sur des animaux, sur des bêtes de somme, leurs objets sacrés sont un fardeau pour les bêtes fatiguées.	1 Bel has been broken. Nebo has been crushed. Their idols have been placed upon beasts and cattle, your grievous heavy burdens, even unto exhaustion.
2 Elles s’affaissent et avec elles ils tombent, incapables de sauver ceux qui les portent. Eux aussi s’en vont en captivité.	2 They have been melted down, or have been smashed together. They were not able to save the one who carried them, and their life will go into captivity.
3 Écoutez-moi donc, maison de Jacob, vous tous qui restez de la maison d’Israël! Je me suis chargé de vous depuis votre naissance, je vous ai portés depuis le sein maternel.	3 Listen to me, house of Jacob, all the remnant of the house of Israel, who are carried in my bosom, who were born from my womb.
4 Je ferai ainsi jusqu’à votre vieillesse, et je vous soutiendrai jusqu’à vos cheveux blancs. Je vous porterai encore, je l’ai déjà fait, je vous soutiendrai et je vous sauverai.	4 Even to your old age, I am the same. And even with your grey hairs, I will carry you. I have made you, and I will sustain you. I will carry you, and I will save you.
5 À qui pouvez-vous me comparer, et qui est comme moi? Trouverez-vous quelqu’un qui me ressemble?	5 To whom would you likened me, or equate me, or compare me, or consider me to be similar?
6 Voici des gens qui sortent l’or de leur sac, et pèsent l’argent sur une balance. Ils embauchent un artisan pour qu’il leur fasse un dieu; ensuite ils l’adorent et se prosternent devant lui.	6 You take gold from a bag, and you weigh silver on a scale, so as to hire a goldsmith to make a god. And they fall prostrate and adore.
7 Ils le portent à l’épaule, ils l’emmènent, et le déposent à sa place. Alors il reste là et ne quitte plus sa place, ils peuvent bien crier, lui ne répondra pas, il ne les sauvera pas du malheur.	7 They carry him on their shoulders, supporting him, and they set him in his place. And he will stand still and will not move from his place. But even when they will cry out to him, he will not hear. He will not save them from tribulation.
8 Souvenez-vous de cela pour en tirer la leçon, pensez bien à cela, infidèles!	8 Remember this, and be confounded. Return, you transgressors, to the heart.
9 Souvenez-vous des événements passés, des choses d’autrefois. Moi je suis Dieu, il n’y en a pas d’autre: il n’y a rien de divin hors de moi.	9 Remember the past ages. For I am God, and there is no other god. There is no one like me.
10 Dès le début, j’annonce ce qui viendra après, je dis d’avance ce qui n’est pas encore fait. Je dis, et mon projet se réalise, tout ce que j’ai voulu se fera.	10 From the beginning, I announce the last things, and from the start, the things that have not yet been done, saying: My plan will stand firm, and my entire will shall be done.
11 Du levant j’appelle un aigle, d’un pays lointain je fais venir l’homme qui accomplira mes projets. J’ai parlé, les choses arriveront, j’ai décidé, elles se feront.	11 I call a bird from the east, and from a far away land, the man of my will. And I have spoken it, and I will carry it out. I have created, and I will act.
12 Écoutez-moi, gens à la tête dure, si étrangers à la justice.	12 Hear me, you who are hard of heart, who are far from justice!
13 J’ai déjà là ma victoire, elle n’est plus loin, mon salut ne tardera pas. Je donnerai le salut à Sion et la grandeur sera pour Israël.	13 I have brought my justice near. It will not be far away, and my salvation will not be delayed. I will grant salvation in Zion, and my glory in Israel.
