1 Yahvé dit à Moïse: “Je vais envoyer un dernier fléau sur le Pharaon et sur l’Égypte. Après cela, il vous laissera partir d’ici. Il vous laissera tellement bien partir, que même il vous chassera d’ici.	1 And the LORD said unto Moses, Yet will I bring one plague more upon Pharaoh, and upon Egypt; afterwards he will let you go hence: when he shall let you go, he shall surely thrust you out hence altogether.
2 Va donc dire ceci au peuple: Que chaque homme emprunte à son voisin, et chaque femme à sa voisine, des objets d’argent et d’or.”	2 Speak now in the ears of the people, and let every man borrow of his neighbour, and every woman of her neighbour, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold.
3 Yahvé rendit le peuple sympathique aux Égyptiens, d’ailleurs Moïse était un très grand personnage en Égypte, très bien considéré par les serviteurs du Pharaon et par le peuple.	3 And the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh's servants, and in the sight of the people.
4 Moïse dit: “Voilà ce que dit Yahvé: Au milieu de la nuit je traverserai l’Égypte,	4 And Moses said, Thus saith the LORD, About midnight will I go out into the midst of Egypt:
5 et tout premier-né mourra au pays d’Égypte, depuis le premier-né du Pharaon qui est assis sur son trône jusqu’au premier-né de la servante qui est derrière sa meule, jusqu’au premier-né de tout animal.	5 And all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sitteth upon his throne, even unto the firstborn of the maidservant that is behind the mill; and all the firstborn of beasts.
6 Dans tout le pays d’Égypte on entendra un cri de douleur comme il n’y en a jamais eu et qu’il n’y en aura jamais plus de semblable.	6 And there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as there was none like it, nor shall be like it any more.
7 Mais chez les Israélites, pas un chien n’aboiera, ni pour mort d’homme, ni pour mort d’animal, afin que vous sachiez que Yahvé fait une différence entre l’Égypte et Israël.	7 But against any of the children of Israel shall not a dog move his tongue, against man or beast: that ye may know how that the LORD doth put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel.
8 Tous tes serviteurs viendront vers moi et se prosterneront devant moi en disant: Sors avec tout le peuple qui te suit! Et alors je partirai.” Ceci dit, Moïse sortit de chez le Pharaon très en colère.	8 And all these thy servants shall come down unto me, and bow down themselves unto me, saying, Get thee out, and all the people that follow thee: and after that I will go out. And he went out from Pharaoh in a great anger.
9 Yahvé dit à Moïse: “Le Pharaon ne vous écoutera pas, c’est pourquoi je multiplierai mes prodiges en Égypte.”	9 And the LORD said unto Moses, Pharaoh shall not hearken unto you; that my wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt.
10 Moïse et Aaron avaient fait tous ces prodiges devant le Pharaon, mais Yahvé avait fait que le Pharaon s’entête, et il ne laissa pas les Israélites sortir de son pays.	10 And Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh: and the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, so that he would not let the children of Israel go out of his land.
