1 E (dopo le predette cose) vennero (da Giudea in Antiochia) alquanti iudei (convertiti alla fede, e incominciorono) a predicare (e a dogmatizzare) a' fedeli, che se non si circoncidesseno secondo la legge di Moisè, non si potevano salvare.	1 And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.
2 E levandosi di ciò grande controversia (e discordia fra loro), e contradicendo loro Paulo e Barnaba, ordinorono tutti insieme, che Paulo e Barnaba andassero in Ierusalem, con certi altri di ciascuna delle parti, agli apostoli e agli altri principali a dichiarare questa questione.	2 When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question.
3 Onde elli, partendosi, passarono per Fenicia e per Samaria, e narravano (alli fedeli delle predette terre) la conversione delle genti (che Dio per loro avea recate alla fede); della quale cosa li fedeli molto se ne rallegravano.	3 And being brought on their way by the church, they passed through Phenice and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles: and they caused great joy unto all the brethren.
4 E giunti che furono in Ierusalem, furono ricevuti dagli apostoli e da' seniori e da tutta la Chiesa (con grande gaudio); ed elli raccontorono le grandi cose che Dio avea fatto per loro (infra pagani, e il molto frutto che n' era seguito).	4 And when they were come to Jerusalem, they were received of the church, and of the apostles and elders, and they declared all things that God had done with them.
5 E allora si levorono (ad aringare) alquanti della (setta ed) eresia de' Farisei ch' erano fatti cristiani; e dicevano che pur si conveniva che si circoncidessero, e osservasseno le altre cerimonie. della legge di Moisè.	5 But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.
6 ...	6 And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter.
7 Contra li quali si levò Pietro, e disse: frategli miei, voi sapete che già sono più anni, che Dio mi fece predicare alle genti l' evangelio; e (Cornelio e) molti (altri) credettero.	7 And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.
8 E Dio, che conosce li cuori, (in segno e) in testimonio che ciò li piaceva mandò in loro il Spirito Santo, come fece a noi.	8 And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;
9 E in nulla cosa (mostrò e) fece differenza tra noi e loro, purificando per la sua fede li cuori loro.	9 And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
10 Perchè adunque tentate Dio di ponere sopra noi il grave giogo (delle osservanze legali), il quale nè noi nè li nostri padri potemmo portare?	10 Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
11 (E però dico che non per le osservanze della legge, ma) per sola grazia di Cristo ci crediamo salvare.	11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.
12 E li iudei e li gentili (udite le predette parole), tutti tacettero, e (le parti furono contente, e lasciando di più questionare) intendevano (con grande letizia) pure a udire Paulo e Barnaba, li quali raccontavano le grandi cose e meraviglie che Dio avea fatte per loro fra le genti pagane.	12 Then all the multitude kept silence, and gave audience to Barnabas and Paul, declaring what miracles and wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles by them.
13 E dopo queste parole levossi Iacobo (il quale era Vescovo in Ierusalem; e volendo al tutto conchiudere la verità della detta questione, sì aringò e come prelato e pontefice di tutti), e disse: fratelli miei, udite me.	13 And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying, Men and brethren, hearken unto me:
14 (Come voi avete udito,) Simone (Pietro il quale) v' ha raccontato, come Dio per lui cominciò a prendere (e a ricevere in suo e) per suo popolo le genti pagane,	14 Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name.
15 sì come di ciò parlorono (e profetorono) molti antichi profeti, massimamente quella profezia, la quale dice:	15 And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written,
16 dopo queste cose ternerò, ed edificherò il tabernacolo di David, il qual è caduto; e riedificherò le sue rovine, e leverollo in alto,	16 After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up:
17 acciò che gli uomini cerchino (la casa di) Dio, e tutte le genti sopra le quali è invocato il nome mio	17 That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.
18 Onde ab eterno Dio conobbe le opere sue.	18 Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.
19 E però io giudico (e determino) che quelli che sono stati di paganesimo, convertendosi a Cristo, non siano molestati, (nè siano loro imposte altre cerimonie),	19 Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God:
20 se non che si scriva loro, che si astengano dalle contaminazioni de' simulacri (cioè degli idoli) e dalle fornicazioni e dagli animali soffocati e dal sangue.	20 But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.
21 Moisè dalli tempi antiqui in qualunque città ha chi il predica nelle sinagoghe, dove si legge per ogni sabbato.	21 For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.
22 E (detta e ricevuta da tutti questa sentenza come definitiva) piacque (e parve) agli apostoli e alli seniori e a tutto il collegio della Chiesa di eleggere alquanti uomini (maturi e discreti), e mandarli in Antiochia insieme con Paulo e Barnaba (li quali per questa questione determinare erano venuti); ed elessero e mandorono Iuda, il quale era chiamato Barsaba, e Sila, uomini molto principali di senno tra gli altri;	22 Then pleased it the apostles and elders, with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas; namely, Judas surnamed Barsabas, and Silas, chief men among the brethren:
23 e (sì li mandorono) con loro mano [scrissono] (alla Chiesa di Antiochia) e dissono così: gli apostoli e li seniori (della Chiesa di Ierusalem) a' cari fratelli (in Cristo), li quali sono in Antiochia e in Cilicia e Siria, convertiti dal paganesimo, salute.	23 And they wrote letters by them after this manner; The apostles and elders and brethren send greeting unto the brethren which are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia:
24 Perciò che abbiamo udito che alcuni di noi vennero a voi, li quali per verità noi non mandammo, e perturbarono l'anime vostre per loro nuova e stolta dottrina;	24 Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment:
25 egli è piaciuto di eleggere di noi uomini discreti (e dotti e degni di fede), e mandarli a voi con li vostri carissimi Barnaba e Paulo,	25 It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,
26 uomini li quali (tutto il dì) pongono la vita per il nome di Cristo (li quali vi declarino sopra la questione ch' è levata).	26 Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
27 E però vi mandammo Iuda e Sila, li quali (non pure per nostre lettere, ma molto meglio) a bocca vi diranno la verità (e la determinazione della detta questione).	27 We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell you the same things by mouth.
28 Onde sappiate che allo Spirito Santo e a noi è piaciuto di non v' imponere altra gravezza, se non questa che pure di necessità si conviene osservare;	28 For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;
29 cioè che voi vi astegnate dalle cose immolate agli idoli, e da animali (e da uccelli) soffocati, e da sangue e da fornicazione; (e che quelle cose che non volete che altri faccia a voi, non le facciate ad altri;) dalle quali cose guardandovi, farete bene (e potretevi salvare). Dio vi salvi.	29 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.
30 E andando li predetti (discreti uomini), e giungendo in Antiochia, diedero a leggere la (predetta) epistola dinanzi alla moltitudine (de' fedeli).	30 So when they were dismissed, they came to Antioch: and when they had gathered the multitude together, they delivered the epistle:
31 La quale quelli udendo, furono tutti consolati e contenti.	31 Which when they had read, they rejoiced for the consolation.
32 E (li predetti) Iuda e Sila, avendo dono di profeti, (predicorono e) dissero a' fedeli molto buone cose, confermandoli nella fede di Cristo.	32 And Judas and Silas, being prophets also themselves, exhorted the brethren with many words, and confirmed them.
33 E stati che ivi furono certo tempo, li lassorono in pace (però che pareva loro di) ritornare a coloro che li mandorono.	33 And after they had tarried there a space, they were let go in peace from the brethren unto the apostles.
34 Ma parendo a Sila di rimanere (ancora uno poco), ritornò solo Iuda in Ierusalem.	34 Notwithstanding it pleased Silas to abide there still.
35 E Paulo e Barnaba rimanseno (insieme con Sila) in Antiochia, predicando con molti altri l' evangelio di Cristo.	35 Paul also and Barnabas continued in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.
36 E dopo alquanti dì, dicendo Paulo a Barnaba che li pareva che ritornassero (per quelle e) a quelle cittadi (e contrade) nelle quali elli avevano predicato, per confermare e confortare li discepoli e li convertiti di nuovo alla fede;	36 And some days after Paul said unto Barnabas, Let us go again and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord, and see how they do.
37 Barnaba volendo menare seco Giovanni, chiamato Marco (suo consobrino);	37 And Barnabas determined to take with them John, whose surname was Mark.
38 non parve a Paulo per nullo modo, dicendo che poi che a sua posta s' era partito da loro di Panfilia, e non era voluto andare con loro a predicare, non si dovea più ricevere.	38 But Paul thought not good to take him with them, who departed from them from Pamphylia, and went not with them to the work.
39 E per questa cagione discordandosi (insieme, però che Barnaba il voleva pure menare), partissi l'uno dall' altro, (benche ciascuno avea buono rispetto); onde Barnaba con il detto Giovanni andorono in Cipro.	39 And the contention was so sharp between them, that they departed asunder one from the other: and so Barnabas took Mark, and sailed unto Cyprus;
40 E Paulo, prendendo per compagno il predetto Sila, raccomandandosi a' fratelli,	40 And Paul chose Silas, and departed, being recommended by the brethren unto the grace of God.
41 andò in Siria e in Cilicia, (predicando e) confermando li fedeli della Chiesa, e comandando loro che osservassero li comandamenti degli apostoli e degli altri loro prelati.	41 And he went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the churches.
