1 Dopo questo designò Iesù altri settanta due discepoli, e mandogli in ogni città e luogo nel quale dovevano andare.	1 Then, after these things, the Lord also designated another seventy-two. And he sent them in pairs before his face, into every city and place where he was to arrive.
2 E disse a loro: la mietitura è molta, ma li operatori sono pochi. Adunque pregate il signore del campo, che ponga li mietitori nel campo suo.	2 And he said to them: “Certainly the harvest is great, but the workers are few. Therefore, ask the Lord of the harvest to send workers into his harvest.
3 Andate; ed ecco ch' io vi mando, sì come agnelli infra li lupi.	3 Go forth. Behold, I send you out like lambs among wolves.
4 Non vogliate portare tasca, nè sacco, nè calzamenta; e nullo salutarete per via.	4 Do not choose to carry a purse, nor provisions, nor shoes; and you shall greet no one along the way.
5 E in qualunque casa voi entrerete, prima dite pace sia in questa casa.	5 Into whatever house you will have entered, first say, ‘Peace to this house.’
6 E se quivi sarà il figliuolo di pace, riposerassi sopra di lui la pace vostra; ma se non fia figliuolo di pace, la pace ritornerà a voi.	6 And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest upon him. But if not, it will return to you.
7 State in quella medesima casa, e mangiate e bevete di quelle cose che vi sono (poste inanzi da mangiare da quelli della casa); imperò che il mercenario è degno di ricevere la sua mercede. Non vogliate andare di casa in casa.	7 And remain in the same house, eating and drinking the things that are with them. For the worker is worthy of his pay. Do not choose to pass from house to house.
8 In qualunque città voi entrerete, ed egli vi riceveranno, mangiate di quelle cose che sono di coloro della casa.	8 And into whatever city you have entered and they have received you, eat what they set before you.
9 E curate gl' infermi li quali sono in quella città, e dite a loro: egli s' appressa a voi il regno del cielo.	9 And cure the sick who are in that place, and proclaim to them, ‘The kingdom of God has drawn near to you.’
10 E in qualunque città che sarete entrati, loro non vi accetteranno, uscite fuori nelle sue piazze, e dicete:	10 But into whatever city you have entered and they have not received you, going out into its main streets, say:
11 etiam noi gittiamo contra di voi la polvere che si accosta a noi della vostra città; nientedimeno questo sappiate, che s' appressarà il regno di Dio.	11 ‘Even the dust which clings to us from your city, we wipe away against you. Yet know this: the kingdom of God has drawn near.’
12 Dicovi, come sarà in quel giorno più remissione a quelli di Sodoma, che a quella città.	12 I say to you, that in that day, Sodom will be forgiven more than that city will be.
13 Guai a te, Corozain; guai a te, Betsaida; imperò che se fussero state fatte le virtù in Tiro e in Sidonia, le quali (già per il passato) sono state in voi, sedendo loro nel cilicio e in cenere, avrebbono fatto penitenza.	13 Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles that have been wrought in you, had been wrought in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in haircloth and ashes.
14 Nientemeno sarebbe più remissibile nel giudizio a Tiro e a Sidonia, che a voi.	14 Yet truly, Tyre and Sidon will be forgiven more in the judgment than you will be.
15 E tu, Cafarnao, [che] sei esaltata insino alli cieli, sarai demersa insino all' inferno.	15 And as for you, Capernaum, who would be exalted even up to Heaven: you shall be submerged into Hell.
16 Chi vi ode, ode me; e chi vi disprezza, disprezza me; e chi mi sprezza, sprezza cui mi ha mandato.	16 Whoever hears you, hears me. And whoever despises you, despises me. And whoever despises me, despises him who sent me.”
17 Di che ritornarono gli settantadue con allegrezza, dicendo: messere, etiam gli demonii a noi sono sudditi nel nome tuo.	17 Then the seventy-two returned with gladness, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us, in your name.”
18 Ed egli disse: io vedeva satana cadere dal cielo come fulgore.	18 And he said to them: “I was watching as Satan fell like lightning from heaven.
19 Ecco ch' io vi ho data la potestà di conculcare sopra li serpenti e scorpioni, e sopra ogni virtù dell' inimico; e nulla vi nocerà.	19 Behold, I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and upon all the powers of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.
20 Nientemeno per questo non vi rallegrate, perchè gli spiriti sieno sottoposti a voi; ma rallegratevi che li nomi vostri sono scritti ne' cieli.	20 Yet truly, do not choose to rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you; but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”
21 Ed egli in essa ora esultò nel Spirito santo, e disse: a te confesso, Padre, Signore del cielo e della terra, che hai celato queste cose alli sapienti e prudenti, e ha'le revelate alli piccolini. Etiam, padre, perchè questo ha piaciuto dinanzi a te.	21 In the same hour, he exulted in the Holy Spirit, and he said: “I confess to you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and the prudent, and have revealed them to little ones. It is so, Father, because this way was pleasing before you.
22 Dal Padre mio a me sono date tutte le cose. E nullo sa chi sia il figliuolo, salvo il Padre; e chi sia il Padre, salvo il Figliuolo, e a cui vorrà revelare il Figliuolo.	22 All things have been delivered to me by my Father. And no one knows who the Son is, except the Father, and who the Father is, except the Son, and those to whom the Son has chosen to reveal him.”
23 E voltato alli discepoli suoi, disse: beati gli occhi che vedono quello che vedete voi.	23 And turning to his disciples, he said: “Blessed are the eyes that see what you see.
24 E dicovi che molti profeti e re volsero vedere quello che voi vedete, e non lo vederono; e [udire] quello che voi udite, e nollo udirono.	24 For I say to you, that many prophets and kings wanted to see the things that you see, and they did not see them, and to hear the things that you hear, and they did not hear them.”
25 E (così dicendo Iesù) levossi su uno de' savii della legge, e volselo tentare, e disse: maestro, che potrei fare, ch' io posseda vita eterna?	25 And behold, a certain expert in the law rose up, testing him and saying, “Teacher, what must I do to possess eternal life?”
26 Disse a lui Iesù: che è scritto nella legge, dove tu leggi?	26 But he said to him: “What is written in the law? How do you read it?”
27 E quello rispose e disse: ama il Signore Iddio tuo con tutto il cuore tuo, e con tutta l'anima tua, e con tutta la forza tua, e con tutta la mente tua; e il prossimo tuo come te medesimo.	27 In response, he said: “You shall love the Lord your God from your whole heart, and from your whole soul, and from all your strength, and from all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”
28 E Iesù gli disse: drittamente hai risposto; e imperò fa questo, e viverai.	28 And he said to him: “You have answered correctly. Do this, and you will live.”
29 E vegliendosi giustificare, disse a Iesù: chi è il mio prossimo?	29 But since he wanted to justify himself, he said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”
30 E Iesù il guardò, e disse così: uno uomo si partì di Ierusalem, e andava in Gerico, e incontrossi in latroni, li quali spogliaronlo e ferironlo, e andorono via, e lassoronlo mezzo morto.	30 Then Jesus, taking this up, said: “A certain man descended from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he happened upon robbers, who now also plundered him. And inflicting him with wounds, they went away, leaving him behind, half-alive.
31 E passando uno sacerdote per quella medesima via, e' vide costui (e lassollo stare) e passò oltre.	31 And it happened that a certain priest was descending along the same way. And seeing him, he passed by.
32 Similmente passando uno diacono appresso lui, e anche vedendolo, passò oltre.	32 And similarly a Levite, when he was near the place, also saw him, and he passed by.
33 Ma uno Samaritano, facendo quello medesimo cammino, abbattessi in costui; e vedendolo, ebbeli compassione.	33 But a certain Samaritan, being on a journey, came near him. And seeing him, he was moved by mercy.
34 E preselo, e fasciogli le sue ferite, ungendo con l'olio e col vino; e poselo a cavallo, e menollo ad albergo; ed ebbe cura di lui.	34 And approaching him, he bound up his wounds, pouring oil and wine on them. And setting him on his pack animal, he brought him to an inn, and he took care of him.
35 E l'altro giorno dètte duo denari all' albergatore, e dissegli: abbi cura di costui; e ciò che spenderai oltre a questi duo denari, quando io tornerò, te gli renderò.	35 And the next day, he took out two denarii, and he gave them to the proprietor, and he said: ‘Take care of him. And whatever extra you will have spent, I will repay to you at my return.’
36 (Dimmi adunque): qual di costoro tre ti pare che fusse più prossimo a costui ch' era venuto alle mani de' latroni?	36 Which of these three, does it seem to you, was a neighbor to him who fell among the robbers?”
37 E quello rispuose e disse: certo colui che gli (usò e) fece misericordia. E Iesù li disse: va tu, e fa similmente.	37 Then he said, “The one who acted with mercy toward him.” And Jesus said to him, “Go, and act similarly.”
38 Fatto è adunque, quando andavano, Iesù entrò in uno castello; e una femina, che avea nome Marta, ricevettelo in casa sua.	38 Now it happened that, while they were traveling, he entered into a certain town. And a certain woman, named Martha, received him into her home.
39 E costei avea una sorella, che avea nome Maria, la quale stava alli piedi del Signore, e udiva la sua parola.	39 And she had a sister, named Mary, who, while sitting beside the Lord’s feet, was listening to his word.
40 E Marta s' affaticava, e frequentava apparecchiare a Iesù; e costei andò a Iesù, e dissegli: Signore, tu non hai cura di dire alla sorella mia (che m' aiuti ad apparecchiar, conciosia) ch' io sono sola, e apparecchio? Imperò digli, ch' ella mi aiuti.	40 Now Martha was continually busying herself with serving. And she stood still and said: “Lord, is it not a concern to you that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore, speak to her, so that she may help me.”
41 Rispose il Signore, e dissegli: Marta, Marta, tu sei sollecita, e turbiti intorno a molte cose.	41 And the Lord responded by saying to her: “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled over many things.
42 Ma per lo fermo una cosa è necessaria. Maria ha eletta l'ottima parte, la quale non fia a lei mai tolta (in eterno).	42 And yet only one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the best portion, and it shall not be taken away from her.”
